Sarah came to check my saddle fit yesterday afternoon . She phoned to say she was on her way and arrived as arranged . Her expertise and manner are both exceptional . She listened to my thoughts as my horse is recovering from and injury and after taking her measurements we quickly identified the changes that needed to be made ( a little flocking and a change in girth strap position) she then watched me ride and explained how the changes made will help us both. Nothing was too much trouble and she spent time with my horse ( who can be sensitive) to ensure the experience was a god one. Thank you Sarah x

Sarah, came out to fit my saddle today and after months of trouble with other fittings from other companies all was resolved. She is really good at her job and a really nice person. to top it all she is also really great with the horses, she made my animal feel really relaxed before starting. This was so nice to see, a great result as I now have a great saddle that fits and is super comfortable to ride in.

Be VERY careful.

Dreadful collection service and very very slow to refund (£1,000) in my case.

Will I use them again- NO, will I recommend them- NO.

Returning a saddle is via DPD Local. You don't get a time slot for collection until the day or even that afternoon. So have to wait in. In my case they couldn't even find my house. So one day wasted. Second attempt -no notification of time slot and they failed to collect. 2 days wasted. Contacted Saddles direct who at one point I think hung up on me as the line went dead. They didn't attempt to call me back which was rude.
I ended up having to take the parcel to my local Post office for return myself.
They knew I had had a very bad experience and was anxious to get my money refunded but they failed to let me know when they had got the saddle back, they twice had the wrong refund amount and rather than do a bacs instant refund put it through their website refunds which takes over a week. They had my money for over 3 weeks after I had asked for a refund.

To prove I am not unreasonable I gave them 2 stars as they were reasonably quick to respond to emails, did more or less refund me in full and did apologise- blaming it on the manager being away.

But clearly:
- the rest of the team were not up to the job
- they choose to use DPD Local who are renowned for poor service
- their refund system is very slow

Will I use them again- NO, will I recommend them- NO.

Terrible customer service and communication.

Requested a valuation at the beginning of July and received a quick response to say couldn’t quote at that time but to reply to their email in 4 weeks time if I was still interested in receiving a quote.

I’ve now emailed 3 times (both to the valuation team and to customer service) and received no response. I won’t be pursuing further as it’s clear they have no interest.

I have been using Sarah at Saddles Direct for nearly 8 years and find her to be Professional, punctual, deeply compassionate and understanding and respectful of my own and my horse’s needs.
Sarah is the only saddle fitter I will ever trust. If you want a happy horse and a more secure seat, I highly recommend you contact Saddles Direct and book and appointment with her.

My mother in law died a year or so ago and we had three saddles we wished to sell. Having them around was too painful for my family so we got recommended to try here.
I sent the photos for them across to get a msg a couple if hours later dismissing two of them and a commission only purchase on the other
It was a very informal email and made me feel my mother in laws items where frankly worthless. Really disappointing service and very upsetting to a family still grieving

Ive bought two saddles from Saddles Direct over the past 18 months. A dressage saddle and a jump saddle. Both saddles fitted by the fabulous Claire.
Claire came out again today after booking in a last minute appointment and checked both saddles.

My new saddle was moving forward and I thought it may be down to the dressage girth I was using. Sarah explained we always start with the saddle and yes she was right my new horse had changed shape in just six weeks. Alterations completed and a new girth and we are back in business. i have sold 2 saddles and it takes the hassle out of doing it yourself. they have fitters and ensure the saddle comes back from any loans in the same condition it went. My first saddle sold really quickly the 2nd one took a bit longer
i did have to keep checking where my saddle was up to that's all

This is the second time I have used saddles direct. The whole process was very easy. They were quick in giving me an evaluation which I accepted, I used the courier service which was easy, just had to box the saddle up and the courier picked up from my house. Saddle took a few months to sell and after 14 day cooling off period the money was paid to me straight away. The only criticism would be is that you are not keep regularly updated on the sale but apart from that all was positive. Would recommend and use again.

It was really easy selling my saddle through Saddles Direct. They were really helpful and the saddle sold quite quickly. I would highly recommend.

I have just sold my saddle through Saddles Direct. It was easy and stress free, first I sent them photos and they advised me of the expected price. Then I sent the saddle (at my expense), just had to wait patiently as there were no updates but a few months later I was informed it was sold and two weeks later I have the money in my bank.
