We have had some horrendous experiences with conveyance solicitors in the past but working with Rupert Wood was completely different.

Completion week was a nightmare, having to reschedule the moving van because the assistant and solicitor didn't pass on messages to eachother!
Just think they should be more careful not to make mistakes, they kept getting me mixed up with other clients.
Also a solicitor going on holiday and not having any progress over that period is a joke. I get that they need holidays but not when your close to completion and it delays clients lives.
I wonder if they take on to many clients at the same time, lost paperwork, silly mistakes.

Still not as bad as my last solicitors. I appreciate the work that was put in to fix all the issues

As first time buyers, we had issues with our previous Solicitors. We instructed Rupert Wood to take over our case and they handled everything brilliantly. Michelle and Ellena handled our case and they were great. We used RWS for the conveyancing of our house. The purchase was successfull, but we had to constantly chase the solicitor. They did not do some of their previously agreed jobs without reminders. I suppose, the countless issues we had with their communication is just a consequence of their procrastination.
In general, their communication was not great, and definitely not proactive: the response time to emails was long; it was not clear what was happening, what we were waiting for, and what would be the next step; there was no transparency about additional costs/fees.

Fortunately, when they finally did their tasks, they did a good job (as far as we can tell).

The final price we paid was a lot more than in the original agreement. We understand that some extra was needed, but we also had to pay more than twice for the surveyor's "our fees" without any clear reason.

The communication throughout the whole process was amazing and no question was too much trouble. I would recommend them to anyone. Made the process of purchasing a house straightforward with amazing and friendly communication throughout.
