Been a customer for about 7 years

Been a customer for about 7 years. Out of a sudden they ask for source of wealth and income. I tell them I have XXXXXXX funds and no income for 3 years. Then they block my account. No way to recover. And their answers are the dumbest ever 3rd world support doing copy/paste and having no remote brain capacity to be found at all.

Rarely used it but paid about 25$ every month for 7 years to get such poor 3rd world service from the country showering in poop. Good job Revolut, destroy what you built.

Stay far away from what this bank has turned into!!!

I was scammed sometime ago by someone…

I was scammed sometime ago by someone who opened an account presumably in my name . I have NEVER had an account with them. However, Recently I wanted to have a travel card and saw that Revolut and the Post Office had similar cards . I foolishly chose Revolut who gobbled up my £100 pounds then emailed me saying that the card was declined because I had “multiple” cards.
After several emails where I had to repeat the same answers , they asked for my bank details in order to refund my money. “Progress at last”thought I , only to be emailed by several agents asking me the same questions but no refund .
I am prepared to take this further , and expose them on social media . I see that others on this site have had similar experiences. How is a bank able to get away with such shady practices?

Despite several emails to this bank and ridiculous emails from them asking for my bank details in order to refund my £100 which is a tacit admission that they are sitting on my money and from being passed from various people returning emails , I have not received my money
Today (20/5/25 ) I was sent an email saying that they had closed my (sic?) account , which I didn’t know I had.
This is downright theft !!!

Utter joke

I opened a Revolut Premium account two weeks ago, based on a friend's recommendation, simply to transfer EUR from UK to Germany as the main purpose. Compared to other banks, the to be expected exchange rates are better, and there is no fee. So far so good. Now, the hassle I had to undergo to send (or trying to send) money to Germany is an utter nightmare. Every transfer from my Revolut EUR account to my own EUR account with my correspondence bank in Germany is blocked owing to putative suspicious behaviour. They ask the same questions again and again, you send them additional documents explaining separately the rationale behind the transfer, with passport copies and confidential account statements of respective accounts, you speak to them on a chat, and they simply won't release the funds. It is an infinite loop. After several time-consuming and unnerving attempts to get the money transferred, I decided to shut down the account. In order to do so, I needed to exchange the EUR on my EUR Revolut account back into GBP and then send the GBP amount back to my English bank, from where the funds initially came from. The transaction was blocked due to suspicious behaviour (!). I had to undergo a painful interrogation process again, explaining again and again the rationale behind the transaction. Even the explanation, that you want to clear the account because you want to terminate the account is being challenged. I am in banking myself, and I understand - to a certain extent - their procedures and their alleged claim to work in my best interest. But, this is blown completely out of proportion and they don't seem be willing to cooperate, and/or act in the client's best interest. This is systematic and calculated. Whilst I type this, I receive a message that whilst the GBP transaction is cleared, the funds will only be sent in 3 (three ?!?) hours. Isn't the approach with which the Revolut account is promoted that transfers occur within seconds?! During these 3 hours they send you a reminder every 30 minutes urging you to check your account details again and again and offer the possibility to cancel the transfer. Of course. Money that doesn't leave your account is money they work with for free. Can't wait to have this account terminated as quickly as possible. I am better off making those international transfers with my reputable and experienced house bank. Yes, they charge me much more, but let's consider that smart money for doing business with professionals. Hah, one more. Just trying to close the account. But they won't let you. You need to "close your vaults". But they don't explain how vaults are to be closed. So you can either Google and find the answer (which I did), or you choose to downgrade from Premium to Standard, but it costs you £17.99. But you don't have the money, as you had to clear the accounts first in order to be able to close the account. Another infinite loop......

Not safe! Anyone can access your card

I am giving this product one star because that's the minimum required to write a review. If you are considering getting a Revolut card, I advise against it. I initially spent £5 to obtain a card, but then it was used by someone I don't know. Although the transactions were declined at first, after I received a new card—because the previous one was compromised—I discovered some declined transactions were completed.

I contacted Revolut for assistance, but they refused to refund me. I've also been charged even when my balance was £0. I recommend avoiding this company altogether, as you may lose money. It’s not a safe account to use.

If you intend to buy duty free goods on…

If you intend to buy duty free goods on the plane and pay with your revolut card it will be declined.
I bought cigarettes and perfume with Swiss Air but after trying to pay it was declined.The hostess told me it happened all the time with revolut so don't rely on it if you buy duty free goods.

Foreign bank Revolut

Revolut says that transfer to AJ Bell ISA, is "high risk". AJ Bell seems to play a collective role of god, parent, government and an ar£$. Have you heard of anything ridiculous like this, that you can't make ISA investment coz Revolut thinks it will decide (with your money)

No customer service

Their App not working properly user registration not happening and there is no contact point contact help desk that is how their service works and no customer service contact for resolving the problem.

Tried to open up a business account and…

Tried to open up a business account and faced some hurdles. Was in touch with one of there support team. When we were unable to open up the account I reached out to get an understanding why and the customer support person said “… I am not sure of the reason why it was rejected, at this stage I would recommend looking elsewhere to avoid wasting your time and my time.“

What an absolute joke! I actually also have a private Revolut account that I pay for monthly. Will now be cancelling this.

Customer support is embaracing

Customer support is embaracing. They made me waste a lot of time to contact the merchant about a pending transaction that should have been closed immediately. Indeed that transaction was just an authorization for a faulty refueling. So I had no fuel and my card has been charged of 350$ (2 * 175$ transactions) for 20 days. They did nothing to solve my problem, first because I didn't provide the evidence to have contacted the merchant. So I did it, even if I knew it'd have been only a waste of time. I contacted the merchant who told me that he couldn't do nothing, that the problem was up to the bank. I then provided evidences to revolut, and they did what? Nothing? So why did they ask me to waste time contacting the merchant? I'm sorry, but support is embaracing. They don't understand what you say, they always repeat preformed answers. You may think that you are talking with a robot instead of human being (sorry for my english)

Total scam and fraud!!!
Worse experience I ever had. They stole my money . They fraud my money using Uber Eats, Hungrypanda and Deliveroo. They made 13 transactions every 5 or 10 mins interval and its £527.41. I reported to bank and they refused to dispute my money. I read their review and I am not the only one. Very bad customer service and no direct phone line contact. This bank is running by Lithuanian and indian scammers. How UK government is allowing this kind of bank in UK???
I am leaving this case to solicitor
I give ZERO star.

Trying to close down my Revoult account

I’ve had a revolt account for a number of years. Three years ago i began receiving automated calls from revolut asking me to approve a spend then i began getting calls about my account. I have never been able to speak to anyone at revolut to have this resolved. I want to close my account and get the small amount of money out of the revolut account. I don’t trust revolut to do this via the app. And have no idea what other way to close the account. I do not trust Revolut as it feels like they hide behind a no direct contact rule.

I will give Zero if I can.So many reviews cannot be wrong.Yes I am a victim of frud & cheated by on line so called there own it's so called Scammers. I got his British ID as passport/ Licence & still company not refunding my take money through my bank.
Will never ever recommend to us this bunch of Go slow.Competion no to help & call centers in Asia. NO PLEASE FOR HAVEN SAKE hel retired vanrable pensioner. NO NO NO
