As an agent, Railbookers is my go-to supplier for any custom rail trip I curate for my clients. Their inventory for rail, hotels, and excursions are far superior to others in the industry. My trusted Account Executive, Claudio Marin, truly is a mastermind - there is no trip too small or complex in which he doesn't come out the hero. His timeliness, attention to detail, and overall passion for travel comes through with every itinerary we collaborate on.

This is the 2nd poor review i have posted about this company....we (my wife as a 70th birthday surprise) booked a very expensive trip but i was then sadly hospitalised before our departure...all we wanted to do was postpone but there was zero customer service apart from "please see out T & C's"...i then emailed the CEO's office but nothing!..so 100% loss!

Stop Press..my disappointment was picked up by customer services whose response was highly professional and has restored my faith … thank you

Anita Brooks was able to make a correction to my clients Itinerary that no one has been able to make in several tries over the past six months.

Anita is going the extra mile to fix an issue with my clients booking and I appreciate her honesty, transparency and willingness to find a solution. Part of problem solving is listening and the other half is action and Anita does both really well.

Inquired last week about a trip and worked with them on some customizations for Edinburgh return/departures, responded back Friday afternoon with email requesting a call to book the trip, no reply so I called back the following Monday morning only to find the flash sale over and our discount no longer on offer and management unwilling to honor the deal even though there was no mention of the sale ending on Monday or attempt to return our call before that. VERY poor form; I had my doubts about his company looking at reviews and the slow response to travelers with difficulty, but thought we might see how Railbookers worked in practice, well I guess we got our answer. They couldn't get it right even BEFORE the start.
UPDATE; After an hour I was called and informed Railbookers WOULD honor the discount. All this angst could have been avoided had the company informed me when the sale ended.

Hiliary worked with me until my problems were resolved.

So excited to just have booked the London, Edinburgh and Dublin trip for May of 2027. Claudio was amazing to work with! He was interested in putting together an amazing retirement trip for me. I wanted to book a rail trip, the railbooker travel agent (Chris) was not helpful the first 2-3 times I inquired about dates & pricing. I felt like I was bothering him to book a 2 week trip. I felt like he wanted me to give him a date and whatever the price was did not matter. It was too much trouble for him to go look for alternative dates that would better suite my budget. I finalaly had to talk with another rep to get my point across. Then Chris responded back with alternative dates that fit better. Very frustrating, will not use Railbooker travel agents again.

On April 26th, I contacted Amtrak Vacations to book a trip to Charleston, and luckily received the pleasure of having Railbooker Dom Lamour to assist me. Dom was so personable and professional. He went above and beyond to make sure that a great vacation package was planned for me. I booked this trip as a birthday getaway for my husband , and had never traveled with Amtrak vacations. Dom took his time to explain all aspects of the travel package, making sure the hotel,tours, etc. we're secured and that we were satisfied with all aspects of the trip. He even suggested future travels for us to take and sent the links with further information. As, I stated he was extremely patient,personable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about Amtrak Vacations. Dom's customer focus and customer satisfaction makes him a definite asset to your company! It's not very often that you receive such excellent customer satisfaction. I will definitely keep Dom's email info in contacts so that I can always reach out to him to book future Amtrak Vacations!

What went wrong-did. First of all: information on the trip was only sent to 1 of the 2 people traveling this trip - even though they lived in different states. The one had to relay all information to the other since RB did not acknowledge the second traveler. Why? Tour: Day 1: Starting with the first hotel. RB said it was the Hotel Piccalilli (Manchester)- on X street (no street address on info). Well, there is no hotel named the Picalilli - it’s a Marriott - which we found out after walking the city for 2 hrs. AND it was a 40 pound drive from the airport, since they don’t provide transport. Day 2: We had a tour to Wales, but pickup was out at the airport (?), so another 40 pound taxi drive - and even though we started out 1 hr before the tour was to begin, the morning traffic was so heavy we arrived 1 minute late (yes, one minute) at the gate - and there was no tour bus. Thus we had to book a train to see Wales. Another 50 pounds spent for rail. Day 3: Our train to Edinburgh was cancelled a half hour before it was scheduled to leave. We had to travel on 3 trains to get to Edinburgh- no first class accommodations - like we were booked on the scheduled train straight to Edinburgh. Since our train was cancelled and we had no information on when we would arrive in Edinburgh- the driver from the train station could not be contacted. We lost out on that reservation (and money to book). And there was no time to tour around the city since we spent the day on the train. Day 4 Finally we were able to get on one booked tour in Scotland. Our tour leader was very good and the day finally went the way it was planned. Day 5 Back to Manchester where we found our hotel. It was a nice change not to have anything go wrong. Day 7 Planned on our own - it went great. Home next day. We would like reimbursed for everything paid for, but not delivered.

Hilary was able to answer my questions and went over everything that concerned me regarding our trip. She was able to send me a new itinerary for our trip.

Hilary Klein was easy to work with on an existing rail journey. Very helpful, informative and knowledgeable on the destination and itinerary. Wonderful customer service!

Sammi of Railbookers assisted me with a complicated trip initially involving a dad and two adult sons that had rail, 3 destinations, etc. Sadly, the two adult sons had work requirements interfere with vacation plans. The dad decided to still go on trip, and wanted to have his wife to join him. Sammi got the two adult sons carved off, cancelled their air, rebooked hotels for dad and wife (moving from triple to double) and had to change a couple of hotels as earlier ones no longer available 17 days prior to trip. She got it all done efficiently and professionally, and got wife rail booked too. And somehow, she managed all these changes for a nominal amount. She is awesome.

Victoria was wonderful. She was able to make my changes very efficiently. She is an asset to your Team.

We booked a multi-city European trip through Railbookers that included Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Fort William, Inverness, Edinburgh, London, and Paris. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and did not reflect the premium price we paid.

Several major parts of the itinerary were cancelled or mishandled. The Jacobite train was cancelled and refunded, which we understand can happen. However, our London package advertised as Tower of London + Thames River Cruise + Changing of the Guard ended up being only the Tower of London, with the other portions cancelled. We have still not received a refund.

The biggest disappointment was in Paris. We booked a Normandy day tour, which we considered one of the highlights of the trip. No one was present at the pickup location provided in our documents, so we missed the excursion entirely. We contacted support, but no refund has been issued.

The hotels selected were basic budget accommodations, which was surprising given the total price of the trip. We also found parts of the travel packet unclear and inadequate, especially instructions for changing from bus to train in Ayr, Scotland.

Overall, we feel the trip was overpriced for the value delivered. There were too many problems, poor communication, missing excursions, and disappointing accommodations. Based on our experience, we would not use Railbookers again.
