15% decrease in pouch size
15% decrease in pouch size, price the same. Luckily turns out my cat loves first non purina brand I trialled as a replacement so we're easing through a change. Won't be treated like an idiot by a company that says consumers wanted the change. Bollocks to that and a hungry cat.
Shame on you Purina
I've been using them for 6 years. I raised an order on 14 March which I still haven't received. I used the chat facility to find out why. Totally useless. They kept repeating that the order was still within the standard delivery timescale and i had to wait. I went back to check, and it clearly states that standard delivery is 2 to 3 days from order. I've waited 6 days and still no cat food and no idea when it will arrive. They used to be good but now.... awful. I wish I could say I won't use them again but if you want specific flavours only there is no other option. Shame on you Purina!
Fed-Up, Although My Cats No Longer Are,Due To Small Pouches
Fed all my cats on Felix for the past 30-plus years because a) my cats liked it and b) it was by far the best value for money at 100g/pouch. Now with their Bull💩 excuse about "avoiding wastage" being the reason for shrinking pouches to 85g, I'm looking for an alternative to feed my boys on. That BS excuse won't wash for people like me who have multiple cats. My boys share 3 pouches between them twice a day, topped up with a science-plan dry food, and there is NEVER any waste. Now I'm having to use 4 pouches per mealtime so that's 2 more per day, I'm using, or 14 more per week or 60 more per month on average - for no less cost. And double the plastic waste! Do you see my point, Purina? Your excuse is utter BULL****! Please do us all a favour and stop treating your customers like idiots.
Purina are so concerned our cats can't manage a 100g sachet
After many e mails to purina to complain about the decrease from 100g sachets to 85g that users allegedly asked for because cats couldn't manage to eat 100g? If I look along the aisles all food is like that? Won't provide stats from these customers (after saying the decisions are made internally). Fears of competitors and on and on. See the last response from them it's such total bull 💩 see below their latest e mail and my response
The pet food industry is highly competitive and, for that reason, we can’t give out all the details of what drives our decision making, as it could put us at a competitive disadvantage. The insights we use to inform product development are, therefore, considered commercially confidential and cannot be shared.
However, please be assured that pets and owners are always at the very heart of what we do. Many cat owners want to feed ‘single serve’ portions and most other cat food brands that provide wet food in a pouch format and other wet cat single-serve products, also offer a similar 85g portion size. This portion size better matches the typical amount of food an individual cat will eat in a meal.
Reviewing consumer feedback across various channels also confirmed the consumer need for the smaller pouch size.
My response : Hi, it was the consumer feedback data that I was looking for. As a consumer/customer this information would in no way compromise the industry. I note that on trust pilot that your customers are very unhappy with your stock responses, hence my concerns.
NOTE: WONT EVER BUY A PURINA PRODUCT AGAIN. COMPETITORS ARE NOW PRODUCING 100GM SACHETS. HA HA PURINA. HOPE MORE PEOPLE DO THE SAME BECAUSE YOU ARE GREEDY LIARS.
Out of date with technology
Tried to enter the competition advertised on my box of Felix pouches. Purina won't accept the entry because ' my email is not accepted by Experian'. I have been using this email for over 4 years, received thousands of emails and sent hundreds of emails all successfully. Surely this makes it a valid email? I think it is because the email ends .uk rather than .co.uk but this has been a valid extension for a good few years now - come on Experian and Purina employ people who understand and can stay up to date with technology.
I took my cat to the vet ‘cos he kept…
I took my cat to the vet ‘cos he kept screaming for food and was losing weight.
“What you feeding’ him?” She ask.
“Felix” say I, worriedly.
“They changed the pack size. Give him 4 pouches a day instead of 3. Didn’t bother to tell the customers. That’ll be £57 for the consultation.”
Dazed, I went home and checked my recent bulk purchase from a huge on-line retailer. Sure enough they are advertising 100g but supplying 85g
That’s a huge 33% jump in cost AND non-edible packaging!
PLUS my cat is getting fat and I might have to visit the vet again
Came here to say the same as everyone…
Came here to say the same as everyone else. No wonder my cat eats his food then still wants more. Purina you sneaky barstewards. Bulk packs down by 600 grams but prices remain the same. You'll be loosing my custom. I'm sure my cats will eventually eat another brand, or go hungry. This should be illegal and you should be ashamed.
PRICE HIKE LESS FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW. Was wondering why my cat wanted more food at the end of the night. How disgusting the weight size went down 100g to 85g so you have to feed more and prices went up. Will be switching my cats to a different brand. Been with you for a few years and this is what you do to loyal customers. What a disgusting thing to do. I would have paid more for the same amount knowing prices have risen for the ingredients. Hope you suffer sales losses for this. PURINA WHY DON'T YOU ADDRESS THESE REVIEWS. YOU WONT BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU ARE OUT OF ORDER. GREEDY COMPANY
Deception
I Will be shopping for Mars Sheba cat food from now on, emailed Purina, they got back saying customers asked for packs to be made smaller, 100g to 85g as most owners complained that the cat couldn’t finish, and the food would be left to smell, they also come in plastic pouches now, potentially poisoning my cats? No notice on the box of reduced size, price was the same for 40 pack, picked it up, moved on, got home opened packaging, the felt smaller, now seamed at the bottom same as the top. Shocking, also, people aren’t that stupid that to know that the old foil packaging could be folded over to keep half pack fresh, sometimes my cat would beg for more after 100g pack, so I would sometimes give in, open a pack, give her half, then the other half later (healthy cat, not over weight) that’s 6 packs less in a 40 jumbo pack, imagine the meeting, someone said, why don’t we make the packs smaller, keep the emails where one or two did complain about the pack sizes being too big, and say they were the majority, they won’t know! Well done, let’s do that! Unbelievable, they think we’re as naive as them. I’m done, no turning back, no more Purina products for cats including Go/Cat which they also had after their Felix as good as it looks, now I’m off to watch a YouTube video about Nestle, which my sister sent me after I told her about this scam, titled “Nestle’s Darkest Secret: The disturbing truth”
Absolute thieving company …
Agreed with a lot of people !just noticed that the price is the same as 40 punches that used to be 100gr and not sneakily they made it in to 85 ! What a thriving bunch of t***s! Greedy slimy and sneaky ! Avoid if you can
My cats DON'T eat less just because you…
My cats DON'T eat less just because you decided to increase prices by 17.5%!! A half-hidden price increase is bad enough (85g instead of 100g for the same price), but now I need to figure out a new routine on how to feed the cats. I can't bloody well just open a new pouch and try to squeze out an extra 15g to make up for the difference and then do what with the open pouch, keep it in the fridge??
Ì have three cats
Ì have three cats. One is really fussy. The other not so but the male will eat what's in front of him plus what the girls leave, usually! Just got them some purina gormet in gravy. Yesterday the male was sick not too long after eating breakfast. Thought he had been a piggy n ate the girls food also. Today he turned away from the tuna pouch. That's not him at all. Put him a fresh sachet of the salmon down for him, he ate most of it, again unusual for him. The girls had their food. Left half of it. Then within the hour poor thomas has lost everything he ate. Now I know he wasn't greedy as I kept an eye on him. Think the rest is going to go in the bin. My poorly little kitty now resting on my lap, again unusual for him.
Shrinkflation at its worst
Felix pouch sizes down from 100g to 85g with no price reduction and no warning. They now advise 3-4 pouches daily rather than 2-3 which is not cost effective.
No care for the customers, just their pockets. Disgusting.
Purina take advantage of loyal customers
Purina know how to upset their loyal customers!
Pouch size reduced from 100 gr to 85 gr for the same price and its announced as 'New'! This equates to a 15% price increase with massive cost reduction - smaller amount of product, smaller cartons, smaller pouches.
Another example of 'shrinkflation'.
Suck it up our loyal customers!
I am sick to death with this kind of underhand despicable behaviour by corporations who have not a thought for their customers.
Was on their mailing list as a customer - not a word regarding this in advance - let's just ignor the customer!
What ever happened to 'customer first'.
Shrinkflation at its worst
We have had our cat for 13 years and he is now 15. We have always bought him Felix pouches as that was what he was used to before we adopted him. He loves the food and it suits him. He has been having two 100g sachets a day, split over three meals, with a specialist dental care biscuit to "top up" his diet. He maintained his weight and condition very well on this diet.
Suddenly Purina have altered the Felix products. The sachets now contain only 85g of food - yet the price has not changed. Two 85g sachets are not sufficient for our cat and three sachets would be too much. The price has effectively increased by 18% with no benefit to us, or our cat. We feel cheated and disgusted by this worst kind of "Shrinkflation". Boo to Purina!
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour-…
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour- decreasing pack sizes so customers have to buy more. It’s sheer greed and you should all be ashamed of yourselves- another customer lost
Greedy company reducing pouch sizes
Greedy company reducing pouch size from 100g to 85g and keeping the same price, will no longer be buying your brand and will go elsewhere. Disgusting greed with no thought for either the consumer or cat who are used to 100g pouches. Avoid Purina brand, boycott this so they learn a lesson, hope you see a huge drop in profits.
Absolute Greed with no thought for their customers …
I came on to leave a 1 star feedback due to your recent reduction in sachet size and am glad (from reading your other reviews) that I'm not the only one.
This is absolute greed from yourselves and I hope as a result you experience a massive drop in sales.
This household has 2 cats that go through 6 pouches a day and all their life they have been oh your felix as good as it looks range but now we will be changing it.
100grams per sachet was the perfect amount to satisfy them for a mealtime but 85g they are looking for more.I guess that's your grand plan though so your customers are forced to buy more.
Smaller packets but not smaller prices to match this reduction.
Utterly poor
Blatant Daylight Robbery and Rule Breaking. Contempt for Customers
Our two small cats have been fed on one sachet of Felix, plus supplements twice a day and helpings of dry cat food throughout. Now this is not enough to feed one cat! Massive shrinkage in sachet size. I do not for one moment think that they are trying to save the planet by reducing use of plastic. They are blatantly picking the pockets of the customer. It is so blatant that they expect us to just accept it and buy more. No go Purina, their products are now banned from our hosehold. Time for a regime change.
