One unprofessional disaster after another

I had a leak through my ceiling on Saturday 4th April, which was quite heavy, and concerned about the kitchen ceiling. I have the platinum service with Privilege. I called the emergency line (I understand it was a bank holiday weekend) - after saying they had sent someone round - I waited and waited. I then get a call saying they found no-one in the house. After telling them I had been in and was waiting, they checked and the plumbers had gone to the wrong house. Eventually they came - after 10 minutes they came garbled a message which I couldn't understand and left- I still have drip which is getting worse. I called again to get someone to tell me what I could do, or even what steps I could take to stop the ceiling falling in - the answer- we might be able to send someone - they didn't. On the following day, I tried again - this time they said that the job had been sorted - the "electricity plug" had been sorted out satisfactorily - when I stated I didn't have an electrician and my issue was plumbing - they insisted it was electrical and sent photos to prove the work done. The photos were of an electrical plug IN A COMPLETELY. DIFFERENT HOUSE - which was not mine. They then said they couldn't find any details of who or what company came out to me. I am therefore still left in an emergency with water dripping through my kitchen ceiling, which is getting worse- there is no sign of help, advice or even anything to help- my money for Platinum support I have no idea goes where. Totally disgusted with the service, the unprofessionalism and the willingness to just leave customers with an emergency that they can't be bothered to help, fix or even advise upon. I most certainly will not be renewing when this current year finishes,

Automatic Renewal March 2026 went smoothly

We returned to Privilege in March 2025 for our House Insurance, and we were happy to stay for another year.
An increase in premium was taken as fair, and the communication pre/post renewal has been clinical, by paper & electronically.

Privilege made it easy for me to stay with them.

For many years now insurance companies have made me feel undervalued as a customer. They did this by charging me more for renewals than they were prepared to charge a new customer, which meant that I had to shop around for prices and go through the tedious process of changing my insurer. What a pleasant surprise on this occasion to find that my House insurance with Privilege had only risen by £1 or so. I felt that these people had realised that by holding their prices and giving existing customers the best deal, they would keep the business. So I decided to stay with Privilege, which was much easier than searching around for a better deal. It must have been much easier for Privilege too, as they didn’t have to pay anyone to haggle with me for a better deal or to start changing the price on the renewal invitation.

Used for home insurance as they were…

Used for home insurance as they were the most competitive price. It was easy to set up the policy, luckily I have not needed to claim.

Been with this company for 9 years and…

Been with this company for 9 years and just been quoted 290 a month insurance which is a increase of 140 found same quote elsewhere 160 thank you for nothing clearly customer loyalty means nothing

Another good experience renewing my car insurance with privilege n

I would have given Privilege 5* was is not for the fact that on paying the system wasn’t working and I had to give my credit card details again which resulted in a double payment on my credit card statement which was swiftly removed by my provider. I also liked the fact that my phone call was answered straight away.

Renewal went up

Renewal went up, then again a few days later, then again - same product, same risk, £100 difference in less than a week.

Fluctuations are part of the “game”, but a 33% increase in 7 days… be real.

Easy to log my claim

Easy to log my claim. The lack of contact after the claim was logged and leak found was the let down.
