Prezi cynically auto-renew contracts…

Prezi cynically auto-renew contracts and then claim you agreed to auto-renew in their T&Cs and even when it's clear you are not using the service and have not used it since the auto-renew, they refuse to refund you. They also claim to have notified you of the auto-renew a month in advance by sending you a marketing mail with some text about auto-renew at the bottom which very clearly is not meant to be read. They know what they are doing which is trying to extract money from people by subdifuge. They know they are not offering a service people want or asked for and their system and T&Cs are designed to support this.

Fraud I i was charged 360€ and they refused a refund

I signed up for a free trial and was unexpectedly charged 360€ for a yearly subscription.
The problem is that I cannot find any plan on their website that costs this much — most visible plans are around 48€, which is very misleading.
I contacted support immediately, but they refused a refund.
This feels like a lack of transparency and unfair pricing, especially for students.

Après 4 années abonné à 86,40, mon abonnement est passé à 216 euros : multiplié par 2,5. Je n'ai absolument rien signé, je n'ai jamais donné mon accord pour quoi que ce soit. J'imagine avoir été informé par un mail que j'allais bientôt pouvoir bénéficier de fonctionnalités dingues et que sauf avis contraire de ma part c'était acquis, parce ce que je le vaux bien. C'est de l'arnaque, point. De l'arnaque calculée bien sûr. Il suffit que 40% acceptent de rester pour que l'opération soit profitable. La belle opération a du être dignement fêtée et quelques brillants tacticiens félicités. Lamentable.

SCAM

SCAM! I was looking at this as an option for a way to present my students presentations. Once I relized it was not what I was looking for I tried to cancel. This all happend in like 10 minutes. It was extremely difficult to find the cancel subscription sections and I was under the impression that I was successful. I even deleted the account. I didn't recive a single other email from them until a week later after my account had been charged $102 dollars. When I tried to login to see what happened I had to refill out the account info! All they dod was keep my credit card!
It has all been super scamy. I will update this if they do what's right and give me a refund, but looking at the other reviews it doesn't look good.
Stay away! Don't give them any of your info for any reason!

Achtung!! Probeabo-Falle

Eins vorab: Der Dienst selber ist höchstens Mittelmäßig und gut durch KI zu ersetzen.

Ich habe ein Prezi-Probeabo abgeschlossen, den Dienst einmal getestet und anschließend direkt gekündigt, weil er für meine wissenschaftlichen Anwendungen ungeeignet war. Trotzdem wurde mir danach ein Betrag von 71 € berechnet.
Der Support verweist lediglich auf die AGB und lehnt eine Rückerstattung pauschal ab, ohne auf den konkreten Fall einzugehen. Besonders problematisch: Es wird behauptet, die Entscheidung sei „endgültig“ und weiterer Schriftwechsel zwecklos.
Für mich entsteht der Eindruck, dass hier bewusst auf typische Abo-Fallen gesetzt wird, bei denen Kündigungen entweder technisch fehlschlagen oder nicht sauber verarbeitet werden. Dass trotz nachweislich keiner weiteren Nutzung keinerlei Kulanz gezeigt wird, ist aus Kundensicht nicht nachvollziehbar.
Ich habe den Fall inzwischen über PayPal zur Prüfung eingereicht.
Wer den Dienst nur testen möchte, sollte sehr genau darauf achten, ob die Kündigung tatsächlich vollständig abgeschlossen ist.

Violation of California’s Automatic Renewal Law

I believe I cancelled my subscription to Prezi. However, Prezi still renewed the subscription and failed to notify me of the auto-renewal as required per California'sAutomatic Renewal Law. I reached out to request a refund and they declined to provide one. I've filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and California DOJ, and I have also disputed the charge with the credit card provider. Do not use this business - they are opening violating consumer protection laws.

I was refused a refund

I was refused a refund for the subscription they charged me for. I simply wanted to download MY creation and was forced to put in credit card information! This is a scam that is done to take people’s money! It shouldn’t be allowed. I think it’s crazy that I even have to pay to download my creation. I will never use prezi again because this is just ridiculous. I can’t believe I am being charged nearly $50 to DOWNLOAD A PRESENTATION. I have no use for Prezi otherwise, especially a year’s worth of a subscription for ai that I certainly have no use for. Just scamming people out of their hard earned money is never okay. Never again.

2.5 Months Later — Still No Refund. Prezi Is a Scam

28th March 2026 Update: It has now been over 2.5 months since Prezi's last response on January 21st where they claimed "we've ensured that no future renewals will take place for this account." Guess what? Still no refund. Not a single cent returned. No follow-up email. No resolution. Nothing.

Their Trustpilot reply was nothing but damage control — a performative "we're sorry" designed to make them look responsive to anyone reading this review. Behind the scenes? Complete silence. They pocketed my $216 for a service I never used past the trial and have zero intention of giving it back.

Let me summarize the timeline for anyone considering Prezi:

25/12/2025 — Started 14-day free trial
12/01/2026 — Charged $216 annually without active usage or willing confirmation
13/01/2026 — Contacted support immediately, was told "too late, we already billed you"
21/01/2026 — Prezi replied here on Trustpilot, promised to "take another look"
28/03/2026 — 75 days later. No refund. No contact. No resolution.
Their own logs confirm I never used the product after the trial. They admitted they stopped future renewals — which means they acknowledge I'm not a willing customer. Yet they still refuse to return the money. If that's not theft dressed up in corporate politeness, I don't know what is.

This is not a company that made a billing mistake. This is a company whose business model relies on trapping people into annual subscriptions through free trials, then hiding behind "policy" when caught. This is a scam pattern.

To anyone reading: do not enter your payment details on Prezi. And Prezi, if you're reading this too — you still owe me $216. The next step is a chargeback and a consumer protection complaint.

Nasty

Nasty, I don't even know how they got my credit card #. They have a lot of tricky stuff and not much to help with billing problems or "canceling" a subscription. 14 day trial, I exited out before selecting a plan. Got drilled for $180 on a personal credit card when I would have used a business card for a business expense like this. Again I do not know how they got my card info to charge.

I want to share my experience so others don’t fall into the same trap I did.

I signed up for what appeared to be a free trial because I wanted to briefly test the platform. At no point did I intend to continue with a paid subscription. However, before I realized it, $48 was charged to my account for a subscription I never planned to keep.

As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted customer support immediately. I politely explained that the subscription renewal was not intentional and requested a refund. Considering the situation, I expected at least some level of understanding or flexibility.

Instead, my request was flatly rejected.

No attempt to help.
No effort to resolve the issue.
Just a cold response stating that their decision was final.

For a company providing a service that already feels underwhelming in quality, this level of customer treatment is extremely disappointing. Charging customers through a trial system and then refusing any reasonable refund request shows a serious lack of respect for users.

This is not just about $48 — it’s about fairness and transparency.

Many people sign up for trials to test services. A responsible company should understand that mistakes happen and support customers rather than hiding behind rigid policies.

So here is my warning to everyone:

⚠️ Be extremely careful with their “free trial.”
⚠️ Double-check everything before signing up.
⚠️ Do not assume customer support will help if something goes wrong.

I am still requesting that the $48 charge be refunded, as the subscription continuation was never my intention.

Until this issue is resolved, I strongly advise others to avoid this service and look for alternatives that respect their customers.

NEVER EVER TAKE THEIR TRIALS!!!!!!!!!

Had a very disappointing experience with Prezi’s billing and customer support!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was charged $48 for a subscription I did not intend to continue, and this money was already planned for my monthly bills. I reached out to Prezi support to explain my situation and kindly request a refund, but they refused and said their decision was final.
While I understand companies have policies, a little consideration for customers facing genuine difficulties would go a long way. This experience left me frustrated and disappointed.
I would caution others: NEVER EVER TAKE THEIR TRIALS.

Beware of Predatory Practices

I used Prezi many years ago in a professional setting and was quite pleased with it. I’ve been retired for many years and was heading a fund-raising project for my Rotary club. I bought a basic subscription and worked on this project while recovering from a spinal fusion. The fund raising event was important for helping people without water build wells. It was so important to me that I purchased it with my own funds,

I have not kept in touch with technology and found the service somewhat unwieldy. Thus I needed to upgrade to the premium subscription in order to get help with basic functionality. A fellow Rotarian, who was trained in this program, was also unable to help solve these problems. The verbal instructions were not the same as those found over much time searching through the help available on site.

I received a message from Prezi stating that my subscription was to be renewed, and I immediately canceled it. Nonetheless I was charged close to $400 on my credit card. I was not aware that I needed to cancel the subscription prior to the expiration of the year I thought I was purchasing it for. I explained the situation and was basically told I was required to pay for another year’s subscription for a service I have no use for. It was explained that this is legal to do. Maybe so, and likely I should have known I needed to cancel. However, this is a predatory practice, and I suppose I erred by not knowing this. I would not recommend this program to anyone. I’m very disappointed in how this company operates.

Public presentations mean that really…

Public presentations mean that really anyone can view them, they are literally accessible by the web by default and anyone can look into it. Surely this is a security issue, even when I delete the project, information about the presentation is still viewable from a google search which is very disappointing and a real violation. It makes no sense for this to be the default as a lot of people have sensitive information that they only wish to share with certain parties in these presentations. I reached out to Prezi to address this and they have not replied, I wish to remove this straight away.

I keep getting this when I submit the slide details.
I have resorted to doing it myself.
I did Like the presentation, but I ended up doing so much of the work myself that the whole point for getting it went out of the window, especially when I have to submit my file or prompts twenty time and just get: SOMETHING WENT WRONG, every single time. I checked their status, everything seems to be fine. But, it's not. I ended up cutting the slides down from around 20, to four or five, and it still wouldn't do anything. What a waste of valuable time..!!

Check your trial!

I was one day too late with canceling the trial. I saw more than 200 euros taken off my account and immediately stopped by subscription. I sent Prezi an email but never got a reply.

Looks great and the marketing is…

Looks great and the marketing is obviously spot on with the fact that it can do everything. However, when you get into it, it just has a mind of it's own. You will need to used Chat GPT to create a prompt, then it is not too bad, with lots or revisions required. The REALLY ridiculous thing is that even when you have created EXACTLY what you want on a powerpoint, it just destroys how you present it, such as bullet points, disregards your own copy and changes it all to how it wants to communicate!! Don't bother....

Requested a refund and cannot use…

Requested a refund and cannot use software, they confirmed even though it states after 14 days they will charge. There is no going back, I missed the cut off due to family and personal reasons outwith my control and was charged, in light of the circumstance I contacted my bank and prezi requesting immediate cancellation and refund. They are crooks, telling me it's my fault and I have to pay even if I don't want to use the service.

I also would like to note even though I have “paid” over £100 I cannot even download my presentation.

AVOID at all costs. Use google vids instead

Einfach 1 Jahresabo aufgedrückt…

Einfach 1 Jahresabo aufgedrückt bekommen, obwohl ich immerhalb der „Kostenlosen“ Probezeit gekündigt habe. Noch schlimmer ist das sich der Kundensupport einfach 1 Woche immernoch nicht meldet
Nachtrag: Nach 10 Tagen hat sich immernoch niemand bei mir von dem Unternehmen gemeldet. Da ich einen Paypal Fall aufgemacht habe wurde mir heute mein Geld zurück erstattet. Auf Paypal ist halt doch Verlass, was man vom Kundensupport von Prezi nicht behaupten kann.
Ich rate jedem davon ab das Probeabo auszuprobieren, da dass Abo einfach verlängert wird undman sich wegen 214 € sich ärgern muss..

They need better standards

I don't seem the only one angry at their subscription setup

I am a parent and student and was looking for options to do some of my course wok with the help of AI. In order to use their platform, you need to have a subscription which they offer with a 14 free trial. After a day’s use I quickly realise that I wasn’t getting the results I needed and forgot to cancel. The day I got charged I asked them please cancel the plan and do a refund explaining my situation. They made zero acceptance and just reverberated their terms and services.
If you are going to have such rules have options to subscribe monthly where the cost isn’t so heavy on people.
They need more ethical standards.
Definitely won’t be using their product even though I’m stuck for year with it.
