I would like to write about our experiences at the Paramount Hotel. On the day we arrived, after a long flight, the guy at reception couldn't find our booking made with Booking.com. He wasted two hours of our time and couldn't find our booking with the name and surname of the guest. Instead, he offered to make a new booking for the room with them, for which we had to pay, of course, and suggested we call Booking.com ourselves to help us with our issue. It was his duty to call Booking.com and fix this problem for us instantly, but instead, he wasted our time and was too lazy to do it himself.
Now, let me tell you what happened next in the hotel. He gave us a room where there was a leak in the bathroom that went to the toilet all the time while we were sleeping after our long flight. We woke up to a pool instead of a room. After we complained and asked to be moved to a new room without a leak, they upgraded us to a better room on a higher floor, which was kind of them. Unfortunately, in that room where we stayed for 12 days, we noticed an incredible amount of dust, which came from the AC, probably. All our clothes and things were always covered in that dust that never disappeared. To be honest, I have never seen this kind of dust/dirt in any hotel where I have stayed before.
Now, for the best part that happened to us at the Paramount Hotel: On the day of our flight, we noticed that our passports were missing, and we were pretty sure that we had forgotten them in the first room. We tried to call reception, but they never picked up the phone, which we had noticed during our 12-day stay at the hotel. We went to the reception desk and asked them if they had our passports, as we had a flight in 6 hours. Ahmed called one of his colleagues and told us that they didn't have our passports, and he was 100% sure about that. We asked him to make a few calls and ask about our passports since we had a flight in 6 hours, but he totally disregarded us and refused to make any calls about our passports because he was 100% sure that they didn't have them.
That night, we were so disappointed as we had lost our passports and our tickets worth $2 500. We looked everywhere in the room, unpacked everything, and checked twice, but we found nothing. A few hours later, we decided to call the police to the hotel. Long story short, the police came, and they found our passports within 10 minutes with the help of security and a few calls. If we had not called the police, the Paramount Hotel would never have helped us. The day we missed our flight because of our missing passports, we booked an extra night in the hotel, hoping to find our passports. After the police left, we went to the reception desk to ask for compensation for our lost tickets, but they refused, claiming it wasn't their fault. Instead, they offered us a 50% refund for our last night on which we laughed at and refused. We highly recommend avoiding this hotel at all costs.
