The Palm Centre is the original and premier UK nursery for hardy exotics. Established in 1989 by Martin Gibbons, it has since expanded into the 4 acre nursery in Richmond where we grow, propagate and source a large variety of both indoor and outdoor plants, from the rare and unusual to those more common place in horticulture today.
The Palm Centre is a 4 acre nursery which includes several large glasshouses and outdoor display areas, situated in the old kitchen gardens of Ham House, right by the River Thames in Richmond.
We specialise in a wide range of plants from palm trees to herbaceous perennials. Our established relationships with growers all around Europe and further afield allow us to hold a diverse range of plants for your home, garden or bigger landscaping projects.
Our online shop is a selection of the broader stock you can browse at our nursery in Ham, London. Come and visit the nursery to see an even wider selection, featuring the largest specimens we have.
We love the unusual and the large, and aim to keep good stock levels as consistent as possible. However, with the range we carry and the seasonal nature of our industry it’s not always achievable.

A beautiful small palm to add to our garden containers-and no sharp tips.
Securely boxed and arrived as scheduled, has been well watered so in great condition. Very professional, would recommend the Palm Centre.

Not a complete set of stars.
Not a complete set of stars this time. Surprised at the huge amount of plastic bubble wrap to 'protect' soft winter jacket material and an already well protected small jar of palm fertiliser. All in a MASSIVE box. Maybe someone should think about the environment!

plants excellent…
Really good service plants particularly the look good and healthy.
I love the this perishable sticker on the parcel advising needs to be deliver or call the depot I've had dead plants delivered by other organisations in past.
Only grip the amount of tape inside getting then out the box was tricky and tipped most of the soil out of one of the plants. That they did arrive safe and undamaged you still get 5 stars.

Very pleased
Plants arrived in very good condition and very well packaged. Plants were much larger than i have received from other suppliers. Very pleased with my purchases and would definitely use again.

Ordered a 4’ Tree fern
Ordered a 4’ Tree fern. It was quite a lot larger when it arrived! Delivery was earlier than expected. Planted up that day, now 2 weeks later has 8 fronds unfurling. 5* seller

Excellent packing nice healthy plant, one point I would have liked information on care over the first year, to ensure I get it right as I have been trying to get this plant for three years, and do not want to lose it by treating it wrongly
