I have purchased from outdoor action only once so far. It became apparent there was a fault with the Vango tent I bought from them after a couple of uses however OA responded immediately and I a new part within 24h.
Excellent customer service
I ordered a tent which was dispatched very quickly. Unfortunately the package never arrived due to the fault of the courier. One quick phone call to customer services at Outdoor Action and a replacement package was sent which I have now received. Despite the disappointment in the delay in receiving my tent I am more than happy to recommend this company because of their excellent customer service.

Great experience. First time purchase via website and will definitely use this store again. Ordered some shoes, perfect- as described, excellent price, fast delivery. Kept informed or order status and delivery progress throughout.
Ian is a perfect example of the company.
Went in today and spoke with Ian, who in my opinion, is the perfect representative of the company. He asked what I wanted (portable freezer and cooking station) and explained the pros and cons of each one that they had on display. I didn’t feel rushed into making a decision. Ian is a credit to the company and I’ll definitely be back.
OK taking money
Always used outdoor action for all my outdoor clothing and footwear until now purchased pair of boots they leaked.
No refund or replacement they put leaking boot in bucket of water fo 15 mins and said it was dry. your sock must have been wet or water got in top. I'm 15 stone and after a days wear in light rain around town they leaked.
This firm are all about the money and not the customer .

Member of your staff told me boot goes in a bucket of water with a bottle of pop to weight it down I also asked would it be OK to return when they are wet inside
Answer to that was no they do not leak .
It has put me of shopping at independent stores big firms is the way for our family

His disappointment at wrong colour was painful. Immediately emailed Outdoor Action Customer Services. Two follow up emails sent. No reply to all three. Their Customer Service is appalling.

Fantastic experience with Outdoor Action. Treated myself to a new down sleeping bag, and Outdoor Action had the one I wanted on offer at the best price I could find, by quite some way. Ordering was easy, and item was despatched very quickly. It arrived well packaged within a couple of days. Lovely sleeping bag. Very pleased with my purchase, and wouldn't hesitate to buy again from this company.
Fantastic customer service from Returns Department
I had an issue with a tent (no fault of Outdoor Action's), so I contacted Outdoor Action to discuss it.
Andy in the Returns Department was friendly, helpful, and prompt in his replies, discussing the matter and keeping me updated on the progress as Outdoor Action spoke with the tent manufacturer. Andy was able to organise a replacement tent for me in a matter of days, and the process for sending back my old tent was well explained and very easy.
This is some of, if not the best, customer service experience I have had with a company, and I thought it deserved a review so that others can read this and have the confidence of dealing with Outdoor Action.

When I paced an order for a Wild Country Tent and a Roben sleeping bag very late on a Saturday evening, I wasn’t expecting delivery for at least 5 - 6 working days. I was absolutely thrilled when it arrived the following Tuesday. I was kept updated throughout the dispatch and delivery. Haven’t used my equipment yet but will definitely shop at Outdoor Action LTD again in the future.

Literally the best customer service I have ever experienced. Had an air tube pop on a tent I purchased and they are sending a replacement. They dealt with Outwell and had it sorted in days. WOuld highly recommend!

Terrible attitude from customer service
Absolutely awful customer service and I would review as 0/5 if I could. We will never purchase from this company again.
We ordered a tent from this company last summer which we used twice then stored away carefully. When we came to use the tent again this year (May bank holiday) the tent leaked. In the bedroom portion of the tent there is a black coating inside which was coming away and this was where water was pouring through. The tent supposedly had a 2 year warranty so we contacted in good faith only to be told we must have put it away wet at some point and so warranty wasn’t valid. Despite assuring this company that we had not put it away wet rather than accepting our word and treating this as a faulty product (which I am convinced it is because it has been well cared for and not been stored away wet) they doubled down on their decision and said “Any reviews made maybe deemed lible and we may choose to take further action and we can respond with the evidence shown.” They haven’t responded to my last email when I called them out on this response but from their responses to other reviews on here I’m not shocked by this at all. I felt very much like this was an attempt to prevent me from reviewing them and I think if a company fears reviews so much that they will try to put customers off by threatening taking action for libel then that speaks volumes to me about their ethos and their approach to customer service. I am honestly flabbergasted by it. There are ways to deal with customers and to reach amicable solutions and this was not it. I sincerely hope no one else ever has to deal with this sort of treatment from this company and I would strongly advise that they review their approach to customer services because they are currently lacking in that department as far as I am concerned.

I didn’t “threaten” to damage your reputation. I said that I would take this experience I have had public so that people can be made aware of the poor product and customer service provided. If you feel that will damage your reputation then perhaps you should work harder on your customer service skills. People have a right to know the experience we have had.
You can say that it has been stored away wet all you want but I have told you repeatedly that it hasn’t which is why I am convinced it is a faulty product and nothing will convince me otherwise because I know how the tent has been stored and cared for. And honestly, I feel that the fact that you don’t seem to see how frustrating this is for us is shocking. Rather than empathising with us and trying to find an amicable resolution you became, what I would describe as, stand-offish. The then threat of libel for us sharing the experience we have had with you was the pathetic last straw on the whole thing.
Seriously, this should be a learning experience for you because it has been an absolute masterclass in how not to deal with a customer as far as I am concerned. Have the day you deserve.

Not impressed
Not impressed! Bought a pair of Mountain Equipment trousers and the fit around the knees was not at all comfortable (unlike my other ME trousers). Returned them and requested a refund and find that instead of refunding me the full £49.95 - they have only refunded £47.45. Never ever had this before with any other company. They will definitely be off my shopping list in future.
