Vacances Lakes district
Nous sommes en vacances dans la région de Windermere pendant une dizaine de jours.
Comme nous n’avons pas de véhicule, nous voyageons toujours en transport en commun sur les lieux que nous visitons.
Mais parfois,pour sortir des sentiers battus,nous apprécions l’une ou l’autre excursion organisée
Cette fois,nous avions opté pour la visite des 6 lacs.
Cette excursion se fait avec un nombre réduit de personnes ce qui est un point positif.
Par contre,les commentaires se font uniquement en anglais, le chauffeur ne parlant pas un seul mot en français et s’exprimait très rapidement, malgré que nous lui avions demandé d’essayer de
parler un peu plus lentement afin de nous permettre de comprendre.
Même les japonais qui étaient dans le bus ont eu droit à quelques mots dans leur langue.
Nous aurions aussi apprécié d’arrêter quelques minutes le temps de prendre une photo à des endroits remarquables.
Pourquoi ne pas avoir d’audio-guide ou au minimum des explications sur un fascicule dans les langues les plus parlées en dehors de l’anglais.
Cela permettait à un plus grand nombre de profiter à fond de cette expérience

Unfortunately our scheduled tours are only available in English and we do state this information on our tour listings, so we can only apologise if this information wasn't clear to yourself. However, here at Mountain Goat the accessibility of tours is very important to us and therefore we have invested in a translation app for customers like yourself to enjoy the same experience with a translated commentary (the French language being one of the options). Lake District
This was my first time with mountain goat . The driver me lee was a very pleasant man . He took the time to talk to everyone . . He was an excellent guide who went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome . The mode of transport was clean quick the tour was well planned and the guide was once again knowledgeable of the area

Simply stunning
As a group, we were all already very familiar with the Lake District but we decided to book a private tour with Mountain Goat to let those who normally drive the opportunity to view the surrounding landscape in full. We booked the ten lakes tour on a very rainy Thursday.
Our driver and guide was extremely knowledgeable and took us to places we hadn’t been before and gave us lots of facts that were new to us. He was also very patient with us when we had been to a place before and already knew about it. I am so sorry I’ve forgotten his name. A great day was had by us all.

Great tour of high passes and Muncaster…
Great tour of high passes and Muncaster castle.
The mini bus was very comfortable and Tony, our driver/guide, was so skilled in navigating those tricky high passes.
He was knowledgeable and fun, making it such a great day.
Highly recommend.

This was our second tour with Mountain Goat. Our driver was Tim who really made our 4 hour Six Lakes Tour entertaining and informative. It was obvious he had put a lot of effort into studying the background and history of the places we visited and this made the whole experience enjoyable. We look forward to going with Mountain Goat on our next Lakes holiday.

Great tour
It is not an easy thing to please a family of four, with two teenager girls. We had therefore no expectations of the tour, we did not even know that it will be a guided bus tour with stopovers. Moreover, we know nothing about the TV series :) Despite all of these, all of us agreed that this was the best tour of our life so far, and we have been around the world. This is thanks to the beautyful Dales but equally to Bob, our super friendly, kind and knowledgeable tour guide. Many thanks for the great stories and memories, we have become an all-life fans of the region, we will surely be back for more!

We had such a wonderful time on this half day tour of Beatrix Potter’s home & Lake District countryside. Peter Fox our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about both Potter and the general countryside which played to both my and my husband’s interests. We loved getting to see Potter’s home, Hill Top Farm, and learn about her sheep raising. The lake cruise on Windermere was great fun and a nice way to break up the driving. We also visited Tarn Hows which was stunning, Wray Castle, and a stop in Hawkshead, a medieval village with delicious gingerbread.
When we booked the tour, we didn’t realize there would be so many opportunities to get out of the van and explore areas on our own and were thrilled that we were able to do so.

We did the 4 hr tour. The scenery was gorgeous and tour guide informative. Was disappointed we didn’t stop at scenic areas for pics. We had enough time as we were done in 3.5 hours…

Regarding your disappointment at not stopping at scenic areas for pictures, we do curate our itinerary in a fine detail for the best pictures and scenery. Unfortunately, there is some areas where we cannot stop due to the safety of our passengers, which our drivers do explain on the tour. Tim our driver was very knowledgeable and funny. Felt very safe with him driving on some pretty hairy 1 lane cow paths .😬 we were on the 10 lake spectacular. Only suggestion I would have is that we might at each stop rotate seats, to give everyone the opportunity of sitting in the front or experiencing the rear of the bus.. thank you 😊 Evette

Great tour! Lee was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. Really nice combination of All Creatures specific locations and generally beautiful spots in Yorkshire Dales National park. Highly recommend!

Tours with Mountain Goat are Excellent
My wife and I took the 10 Lakes tour on 19 June with Tony. We also took the Muncaster Castle tour on 15 June also with Tony and the Yorkshire Dales tour on 17 June with Dave A. All 3 tours were really good despite very bad weather on one of the days. Tony and Dave were excellent drivers/guides and also clearly had a lot of experience of driving on difficult roads. We were impressed by their patience with guests who had apparently lost their watches, not listened to the safety briefing or read the information sent to them before the tour. We experienced 2 further tours in North Wales last year and we can honestly say that all 5 were good value for money, very interesting and got us to places and allowed us to see things we would never have experienced on our own. We thoroughly recommend this company and its highly professional staff. Pity that Mountain Goat don't offer tours on a national basis. If they did we would be first in the queue to book.

We did a tour of the Yorkshire Dales. Our driver and tour guide was Barry and he made the day a delight for us. His knowledge and clear enthusiasm for his county made this a wonderful experience which was also accompanied by no little wit and humour. In addition to educating us about the Dales he also showed an interest in his passengers and the rapport with us elevated the tour. A fantastic experience all round.

What a fantastic day on the 10 Lakes tour
What a fantastic day! We were picked up near to where we were staying at Bowness-on-Windermere and did the 10 Lakes Mountain Goat tour which we enjoyed very much. Our driver Peter was very knowledgeable and friendly and we found the tour very interesting and can highly recommend this. I was especially pleased that we stopped off at Surprise View and Ashness Bridge.

Great experience on the North Yorkshire Moors
Did the North Yorkshire Moors and Whitby tour, our driver Steve was very knowledgeable and provided lots of interesting facts and stories about the places we were seeing.
The stops on the moors and at Whitby were well timed and gave us opportunities to look around.
Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience this part of the countryside.

Great day! Not something we’d usually do but due to knee injury we thought the bus tour was a good option. And it was. We learnt so much and our driver and guide, Jane, was brilliant! So interesting and informative. And a great driver on the one track roads. Just a great day all round.
