We hired a “six-berth” camper van from JustGo Motorhome expecting an enjoyable family trip, but our experience with both the customer service team and the vehicle itself was deeply disappointing.

1. Misrepresentation of Sleeping Capacity

We were promised a six-berth camper van. Upon checking the layout, it became clear there were only:
• Two bunk beds measuring 1.1 metres wide each
• One double bed

When we questioned whether the 1.1m-wide beds were truly suitable for two fully grown adults, the customer service team repeatedly assured us they were. In reality, 1.1m is not even a small double—it’s far too narrow for two adults to sleep comfortably. This misrepresentation meant six people could not fit as promised, forcing us to book Airbnbs along the route for adequate rest—at additional cost.

2. Poor Vehicle Condition – Safety & Comfort Issues

Within minutes of starting our journey, we discovered the van was in poor condition:
• Nuts and bolts were coming loose
• Tables collapsed while driving
• The bathroom door was unsecured, banging loudly throughout the trip and requiring us to fix it mid-journey to stop the distraction and noise

This was both unsafe and extremely disruptive.

3. Faulty Plumbing – Sink Held with Duct Tape

On our first day, after light use of the sink, we found water flooding into the cutlery tray under the counter. The drainage pipe had been improperly “fixed” with duct tape, which came loose almost immediately. This rendered the sink—and the ability to cook or wash up—completely unusable for the rest of the trip.

4. Poor Complaint Handling & No Accountability

We reported these issues via email to the customer service team during the trip. On returning the van to the Toddington depot, staff asked us to complete an incident form, which we did. However, three days later we were told that, despite our ordeal, no compensation would be offered because we had not reported the problems “in the correct way” during the trip.

It is unreasonable to expect customers to know an internal reporting procedure that is neither explained clearly at pick-up nor stated in the rental agreement. Staff at the service point were unable to answer many of our questions, and we only learned of this so-called procedure after the trip had ended.

We will never hire from JustGo Motorhome again, and we would strongly advise anyone seeking an stress-free and enjoyable camper van holiday to look elsewhere.

UPDATE: Like all the other responses you provided to your unsatisfied customers on Trustpilot, your solution is never about ensuring customer experience but about blaming your customers. The issues we encountered were pre-existing problems that you never picked up from your pre-rental check. You should compensate us just based on that. If we did fill in the form and get the vehicle fixed, we would be diverted from our trip and lost at least a day on the repair. It would have been an even worse experience than we had. I would have never used Just Go had I read the customer comments on Trustpilot earlier.
PLEASE just return my deposit. It has been 6 working days after I returned the van.

The RVC supplied had a defective leisure battery which would not hold charge without the solar charger. This meant overnight we had no lights, no running water nor could we flush the toilet. The Fridge defaulted to maximum so everything in the fridge froze during the day and defrosted overnight. So we would have been in more comfort taking our tent and car. Just go knew we would not have access to a power line as we told them we would be in disabled camping at a Festival.
They made a woefully inadequate compensation offer which we rejected as it did not reflect anything close to the inconvenience caused. We could have taken our own tent and car and have been reliant on torches, had no toilet, etc. and saved £1100 pounds so £150 and a discount on the next hire is quite unacceptable as was there suggestion that we should not expect a leisure battery to last days, it didn’t even last hours. They have not made any further offer or acknowledgement of my response. They did respond on Trust Pilot saying they hoped their offer was acceptable. There offer was not acceptable in the slightest!

Super helpful customer support

WARNING check EVERYTHING is working before you drive off. We are currently in dispute having taken delivery of a motorhome and the fridge didn’t work for the week’s hire. Spent the night before our travels to a call centre in Belfast who advised us to replace the fuse box and a number of other trouble shooting issues. None worked so were advised to file a complaint when returning it! Appalling aftercare.

UPDATE Just Go Motorhome offered us £150 to cover 5 peoples breakfast lunch and dinner meals for 7 days. We didn’t accept this offer so Just Go Motorhome withdrew the offer and adviced us to go through BVLRA Complaints scheme to take this further.

We have no alternative other than to go through BVLRA complaints. You have clearly failed your code of conduct when hiring the motorhome to us. The motorhome was not fit for purpose. The compensation of £1.42 per person per meal for the duration of the hire not factoring in the huge inconvenience and stress this caused is insulting.

Very proffessional service from the very begging to the end. Campervans are new, well-equiped and in good condition. Very kind and smart staff.

The check in process for the camper was very long in spite of an appointment being booked to pick it up.

It is not made clear that AMEX is not accepted and the deposit takes over 30 days to be returned when its stated by Just Go it takes 14 days

On arrival i was told i had to pay to park my car £10 per night, this is not made clear when hiring a motorhome. The person who showed me around my vehicle knew nothing about it and could not answer my questions. Now the bad stuff. No charging points inside the home worked, the fuel tank was only 3/4 full yet i had to return it full. After collecting the vehicle I droe to the nearest station to collect my partner. Whilst waiting I decided to connect my laptop. It was then i discovered nothing was working despite their T&C's saying they check it all out. I called the depot to find out what could be done but they didnt answer. I then had to drive back and basically demand they did something. Finally they managed to fix some of them. I was over 2 hours behind schedule. Overall a very poor experience. I wont use again. After returning I complained & they basically hid behind T&C's which are not legal. I am now taking them to the county court for breach of contract. I will update after the court hearing.

From the onset, we had such a positive experience. There was many unknowns going into renting a motorhome and so many options.

Marcella at JustGo was extremely responsive, professional and made us aware of all our rental option from the very beginning. We relied on her to help us select the proper rental package. She understood our needs and made the appropriate recommendations. Because of her, we chose to go with JustGo.

Upon check-in, the welcoming staff was accomodating, friendly and took great care in reviewing our options and thoroughly going over the motorhome before we departed.

There is no doubt that we will rent exclusively from JustGo upon our next visit to UK.

Another enjoyable holiday with a Just go motorhome. Have always had a very new vehicle in good condition. Vehicles are clean when picking up and come with all the kit you need. The pickup and drop off process could be a little quicker but I did arrive on a busy day.

Ann-Marie in the service desk was very knowledgable and helpful, pointed out cost savings by taking a bundle package I had not considered. All personnel were very helpful in fact also at the collection deport @ Toddington. Very nice motor home.

Motorhome build quality poor, Roller team.

The online booking system was not very straight forward, We had to phone the support line several times. On one occasion we had to call 3 times on one issue and got different responses each time. The vehicle we hired had a speedometer in km only. Not very good for use in the UK. On collection the instructions of the vehicle was not very helpful and rushedon The centre table was faulty, if it was pushed down, you couldn't get it back up. It took 4 of your employees to get the table up. We were not offered a repair or a different vehicle. Once we realised how much this impacted on our sleeping arrangements, it was too late as our first night in the van we were in Scotland. The bathroom design was not very user friendly both the wash basin and toilet were very high in this model. The toilet was very smelly for some reason. This toilet is the same as we have in our caravan. So we know how to use,clean and maintain the unit., unlike our toilet in our caravan. I don't believe that the ad blue was checked before we took the vehicle because we drove 250 miles and the gauge had dropped to 75% and then remainder at 75% for the next 1100+ miles. I'm not sure if we will use Just Go again

Generally, a really good experience. Loved the motorhome and everyone I dealt with was very helpful.
Only "issues" that were a little frustrating (but no more than that) were firstly in trying to get on the website to upload documents-there were issues with the IT system and then secondly on being told that I would be picked up from the station in 10 minutes or so, I called 35 minutes later as had not been picked up & then got a taxi

This was our 14th hire with JustGo and we have always had magnificent experience with this company ever since they were a small company back in Flamstead. They are a much much bigger company now bought by Worldwide business THL.

This latest hire was Glastonbury again. I don't know whether the pressure of getting so many vehicles ready but there were a couple of disappointments which we hadn't experienced before. Vehicle as always fabulous. We weren't able to collect this time until before 2pm ( and not 10am as before) which was just a minor inconvenience. We had issues with main Home Door which wouldn't open from the inside and had to exit vehicle from the front to open main door from the exterior. Issues with fridge as well which tripped constantly on the gas which made it unusable at Glastonbury. That said Company were very apologetic and they were as I say minor inconveniences. We would still recommend JustGo very highly indeed.
