I particularly valued that they did not simply tell me what I wanted to hear. They explained both the strengths and the risks of my position: why there was a reasonable basis for seeking a greater share to reflect my lower borrowing capacity and housing needs, but also why a court could take a different view of what constituted reasonable housing needs and could reach a less favourable outcome. They were equally realistic about debts and liabilities, including how these could affect my mortgage capacity and how the court might expect them to be dealt with. That balanced advice gave me a much clearer understanding of the difference between the outcome I hoped for, the position that could properly be argued on my behalf, and the range of outcomes a judge might ultimately consider fair.

Throughout, I always felt that my case mattered and that I had people beside me who understood both the legal complexities and the human impact of what I was going through. Their calm guidance gave me reassurance when I needed it most, while their honesty helped me make informed decisions during an extremely difficult process. I am enormously grateful for their dedication, professionalism and care.

A special thank you to Katie, Ellena and the team for everything they did for me. Reaching the end of this chapter has brought a huge sense of relief and allowed me to begin a new one.
