Howdens - Orpington Anmeldelser 

We are still attempting to resolve the issues that Howdens create each week for the last 4 weeks. Like other reviews on here there is no accountability, the after care customer service is the worst I have experienced with incorrect measurements from the start, damaged and poor quality items turning up ,
Constantly chasing for answers and on occasions responses like “what do you want me to do about it “ with an attitude tone has added to me wishing I had chosen another supplier. I am sure nothing will change and they won’t act on this review to improve the experience for others so anyone reading this avoid this branch

I would not use this branch, simply have no customer care, accountability.. they did not measure correctly and we only found this out because we asked them to come on site and verify some elements with our builder - all they want is the sale and commission - your hopes and dreams of the best kitchen play second fiddle to those factors - as explained below:

Started a quote on October.. knowing Easter was our target date.

Howdens measured.. so by Christmas our design was set.

They did the old sales truck on us and took £500 off our quote, if we took a few items (4 in total).. later that week the issues start. All 130 items turn up, we refuse as the house is a building site and they knew we couldn’t fit the items.

Then builder/installer queries the attitude of “after delivery the kitchens your problem” basically on the quotes.. and suspects the measurements may be an issue.

Howdens turn up, straight away advise the washing machine would no longer fit, the cupboards have shrunk by 50mm and the wine rack no longer fits.. this design was one we loved and suddenly was getting destroyed in the middle of a build and week after a delivery issue had stopped us from taking anything.

They should at this point refunded us, but continued with stupid designs to try and make it work.. by which point and understandably I have lost all faith in their designs, measurements and ability to do the basics of a kitchen supplier.

All confirmed in final design which is off from what we had set our hearts on, and the quote is hardly any different value.. we are expected to pay too dollar for something that had shrunk, redesigned last minute and all the hassle that it had caused.

No negotiating from them, went straight to refund… money which I paid in good faith and quickly when it was “we will proceed”, but no apology, no how long the refund will take just a blunt end “here is your refund receipt”.. they washed their hands with us as quick as they could.

They have left a family with young children without a kitchen to install in-line with a build process we have been keeping them in the loop with for weeks.. we will now have to source elsewhere, and live like this until we can proceed elsewhere.

Avoid, go to any other branch but this one. The manager has ignored emails, not given any updates to refund within a reasonable timeframe and simply does not deserve my hard earnt money at a time when we have saved for 10 months for this during a cost of living crisis.. but they couldn’t care a less.

This is my second review for Howdens! I love my kitchen but one of my cupboard shelf broke, Gurpinder from the Orpington branch could not be more helpful! She spoke to the manger about it and it was all sorted within 48 hours and i got a refund for the cupboard as a goodwill gesture- thank you Gurpinder for all you help with my shelf! Great customer service 👏🏻

Everybody in the store wants to help, coffee was free even.

We had an excellent time working with Gurpinder from the Orpington depot. She visited our home, talked us through our options and gave us a wonderful designed kitchen. The process was smooth and she supported us throughout the process. We would happily recommend Howden's Orpington if you're looking to purchase a new kitchen.

Howdens Orpington have been absolutely fantastic. Right from the moment we walked in the doors with the plans for our extension and an idea of what we wanted for our kitchen. G clearly is very experienced and helped us to design our kitchen perfectly. G was always very quick to respond to any queries we had by phone or email (and we had quite a few!!) G was very patient. We are coming to the end of our project which started back in February and would highly recommend Howdens Orpington and G. All the staff at Orpington were very friendly and helpful when we went in at any time to collect bits and pieces etc. our kitchen is beautiful. We went for the Elmbridge Pebble and we have had nothing but compliments. Highly recommend Howdens Orpington not only for their amazing service and staff but also their beautiful kitchens too.

I had a bad experience with a kitchen fitter from Howdens Penge, so I went to Howdens Orpington instead. I worked with Gurpinder who was incredibly helpful and patient with my endless questions! She designed me a beautiful and practical kitchen & helped me choose flooring then showed me how it would look in different colours which was great for making my final selection. We had some practical issues to sort out with delivery/storage and she was very helpful about that too. If you are new to kitchen design, I highly recommend working with Gurpinder, she is friendly and helpful and takes all the stress out of decision-making. I love my new kitchen!
