Thank you Halton Stairlifts. Jonathan came to our house on the 5th May. Measured and surveyed the area, gave us a great price for a reconditioned unit, we agreed and paid a deposit. The installation was arranged for 8th May. The fitter, Kane, arrived and fitted the unit in less than 2 hours. Great service from start to finish.

My Halton stairlift is 12 months old…
My Halton stairlift is 12 months old and they asked me if I want to renew my repair cover which I said I don't want
It has a fault where it stops at the same place on the curve when descending
4 of their so called engineer's have looked at it and can't find the fault.
It is still doing it but I have no trust in their engineer's. So NO I do not recommend them.

Thank you for leaving us feedback regarding your stairlift and whilst we welcome any feedback, we believe that your review to be a little harsh.
We have taken the time to review the history of your lift and as stated, we have attended numerous times and found no fault with your lift.
Your lift was installed in April 25 to which you first reported an intermittent fault on Friday 7th November 25 but you were unable to provide any further information or fault codes.
We attended on Monday the 10th and found no faults. You advised our engineer that the fault had not reoccurred since your initial call to which we asked you to monitor the lift and try to identify and codes.
Our next interaction was on Friday 20th March 2026 whereby you again reported an intermittent fault on the lift. You were again unable to provide any fault codes with the lift and we attended on Tuesday 24th March.
Again, we found no fault with the lift but carried out some routine checks on the lift to identify any possible issues. They all came back clear.
You called back the following day to report the fault for a third time and again we attended site to access the issue.
Both you and our engineer tested the lift, and the reported fault did not present itself. We carried out further tests on the lift but we’re unable to replicate the fault or find any issues.
Whilst this maybe frustrating to you, we can only act on what presents itself whilst our engineer is on site.
You have had 3 visits from 3 different engineers all raised within a timely manner and none have been able to establish a fault with your lift.

My lift stopped working and they got back to me very soon even though it was a bank holiday weekend.

Appointment made via phone and Mark called ahead with eta. Personable and professional, Mark answered all our questions - provided detailed quotation. Follow up by Company via email was prompt and precise, including copies of all documentation. Fitting arranged within days - again fitter confirmed his eta, quickly installed stairlift, which he then demonstrated and watched my mother have several goes before leaving.
Would be happy to recommend.

Absolutely 1st class!!
Absolutely 1st class!!! James and Lee came to fit my stair lift. They called to say when they was going to get there which was very helpful. Not only were they extremely professional but they were fast and made the installation look so easy. They demonstrated it to me and were so friendly and polite. I’m currently going through chemotherapy and this stair lift is going to improve my overall lifestyle so much,it will give me back some freedom and to have James and lee make it happen so easily and stress free for me is such a weight off my mind! Thank you so much!

Engineer Martin rang to inform me that he was on his way to fit a stairlift. He arrived when he said he would. Worked to fit the lift he was very informative, knowledgable and he carried out his work in a professional manner. He demonstrated the functions on the stairlift and left after tidying everything away.

Called Halton stairlifts to report remote controls not working for stairlift.
Paid £726 for two years service, that includes call out labour & parts.
Charged £120 for new remote control.
One remote I dropped by accident the other stopped working.
Last year they wanted to charge me £140 for two small key for stairlift.
I complained still charged £20.
Contacted office today to query the charge informed accidentally dropping remote is misuse therefore charge.
As a disabled person I told them the charge is a disgrace legalised robbery.
The remote is part of the stairlift.
I have no issue with engineers they are doing their job.
I would never recommend this company

Thank you for taking the time to leave our company a review, we welcome all feedback positive or negative.
In relation to your complaint the issue for the broken key was found to be an internal door had slammed into the lift causing the key to snap, we offered to replace the key free of charge by post, but you agreed for the engineer to attend the same day to repair and only a callout charge was billed.
We have also recently attended a callout to a remote that was damaged and found to have be dropped, we have waived any callout and labour costs, you have simply paid for the damaged part to be replaced, this remote also is required to be programmed to the machine.
As you may be aware the stairlift is under a routine maintenance service contract and not an insurance policy, you may find that you are able to claim for any expenses from your home insurance in relation to accidental damage.
As gesture of goodwill, if you wish to request a pro-rota refund on your existing service cover, please contact a member of our team.

You are never quite sure after…
You are never quite sure after installation if all the promises that are made at sale are going to turn out to be accurate. Well, today we had he attendance of Richard to correct a minor fault in one of the switches. It wasn't anything which stopped us using our stairlift, so not urgent. It was quickly and efficiently repaired. But then Richard carried out a service of what appeared to be the entire lift, cleaning, lubricating and greasing various parts. His attention to the detail was impressive. So I have no hesitation in giving both Richard and Halton Stairlifts five stars.

Richard the engineer who came was brilliant he explained to me everything what he was doing to find the fault. Replaced the faulty part tested everything a few times and even gave advice on maintenance that could be done by myself in-between the yearly service

GREAT engineer, but had to wait too long for visit
The engineer that came out to fix a fault was excellent. Explained everything and checked we were satisfied with the work. But Haltons would not send someone out for 3 days because it was an intermittent fault. The "intermittent" fault left my wife stranded downstairs so I looked up a fix according to the Internet. I managed a temporary fix and it worked until the next morning when it broke again. I phoned again asking for an engineer to visit but was told again that as I had made it work then a same day visit was not available. So I had to wait with fingers crossed hoping that it didn't break down in the meantime. Not very satisfactory for something that you don't buy for fun but for necessity..
