I'm not the only person I've known them to ignore. They'll take your details but they won't get back to you.

Based on the feedback of others, I'll cancel my direct debit via my bank. I advise others to do the same.

I'm not going to call them a scam, but their lack of communication is reminiscent to that of typical scam companies. Non-existing service in my experience.

I didn't feel this union was good value for money. Didn't get much assistance with issues and slow to reply. At the Environment Agency our terms and conditions have been eroded and no real term pay rise over the last 10 years. I don't feel the union fought strongly enough. When I tried to cancel they didn't reply so just had to cancel direct debit. Wish I had saved the money I wasted with them over the years.

Absolute joke of a union, yet again they done sod all for me during my recent disaplinary, im leaving this union I’d recommend not joining cos they not fit for purpose basically

Terry Douglas was so unprofessional, unavailable, unhelpful and gave me the worst advice. His advice led me to face disciplinary at work. I was being discriminated time and time again at work but was offered no support from Terry Douglas. I spoke to ACAS who advised me that GMB should not of given the advice they given me. I then told Terry this and he manipulated and gaslit me, he then said he would get in contact with GMB to end my contract- that’s completely fine please do.

Shame you can’t put no stars. Absolutely awful service. Have tried to contact them with my concerns and no reply. No support at all, happy to take your money. Life changing.

They guided me to make a claim for a back injury, misleading me and recommended a poor solicitor Slater and Gordon rep by Clare Griffiths who hold my case for almost 3 years and in the end told me I have no case, facts that made me lose my job, my carrier, basically destroyed my hole life. Legal advice not worth it. Legal representation in the work place is also not worth it, they don't know the UK law and they are powerless in front of employers.

The guy who I spoke to about my issues was totally obviously disinterested in talking to me and just told me straight away they couldn’t help without even hearing anything about the proof I had of being refused my notice period and the holiday pay i had accrued as well as multiple examples of mistreatment. Totally rubbish service and not worth the monthly subscription, do not waste your money or faith on this ‘Union’ I got way further without spending a penny through my own research and eventually got the money I was owed that way. It’s a shame that GMB Union couldn’t even point me in the direction that I went in the end, they could’ve saved me a lot of time and didn’t. The representatives here do not care.

What a useless waste. Effectively costing me money. At a time when it's needed the most.

GMB is an awful trade union that cares nothing about its members. They only ever employ their own low paid members who are dying to get a job with the union to improve their pay or Labour Party wannabe politicians. These staff barely get any training or support and are expected to toe the line and when they don't, they are bullied and managed out. The regional committees and central executive committee are mainly populated with the regional secretaries' flunkies who do as they're told. There is no real democracy. Members are purely a number on a spreadsheet and a source of revenue so the GMB can play games in the Labour Party. Do not join and if you are a member, leave.

Been with GMB for around 20 years never really had to use them. But when I needed them due to being made redundant said that they had no one available to come to my place of work for my one - one consultation. Gave them another date but said still not available. Feel very very let down payed in for all them years for nothing. 👎

Although my officer had been there for me after a client site removal which was unjustified and unfair, in hindsight, I should have kept my contract going or refused to change when threatened with dismissal if I didn't change to less hours. I was advised otherwise to keep me in a job but ended up resigning anyway after a further employer breach..what I viewed as CD. Union assisted in getting money owed before resignation, but dropped the CD claim as not having 'reasonable prospects'. Not having much money or hi to look for second opinion dropped what was a perfectly reasonable claim (employer got off scot free in my opinion) in my array of circumstances. Was advised that on hindsight should 'have let them dismiss' in other words stick to my original contract! I am not sure I will be renewing my membership...can't anyway I'm out of work due to what went on. Employers are getting away with murder whether or not you have a union or not.

Absolutely the worst Union in the UK buy cheap get cheap springs to mind.

Only interested if the agenda fits the publicity they can get.

Pay the extra and use a decent union.

I’ve been a member of GMB for 25 years and can honestly say they’ve never done anything for the work force on Anglesey. We had voted to take action in our pay dispute and have been let down by GMB because they took 7-8 months to sort out the ballots. They are actually costing us money now because we would have been able to review our pay settlement in August and in all likelihood have been offered an increase. Believe it or not we are still trying to sort last years pay rise out now. I’ll be cancelling my membership with all the rest of the work force now

Ok read loads of CWU and GMB negative reviews, yes I am a sucker as I am one as well.

So with all these negative comments about GMB & CWU why don't we band together and thrash out either a class action suit, or fund creation of an honest union, Jesus if UK needs one its now.

Over to you folks but feel free to let me know, but to me this is fraud by deception and at worst outright fraud and we give our most personal details for them to harvest and sell on to othrt companies which explains when I called unionline and they couldn't help, low and behold I receive dozens of spam emails from companies offering to sue for personal injury.

Me on my own well I can't do a thing, oh and neither can you and this is the crux of the problem, together we could actually come up with something better and nothing to do with any political party or bent donations,

Have having a few problems at work and need help so I rang GMB head office for so advise and help . I didn’t know who my union people was?? So they got someone to phone me ,he said on a day at my work to discuss and help me ……. Didn’t turn up , no help , this is second time GMB hasn’t help me and I still don’t know who my union Rep ?? No mobile number or name ??? So not good 😌

Completely ignored.
First, despite being an apprentice, they go ahead and change my subscription price back up to the normal. Then when I had an actual work issue, I just get ignored. Tribunal time is ticking, and absolutely no response whatsoever from the rep. Needed representation in work meetings and this was not available. I cancelled my direct debit as I am simply not getting what I signed up for. dreadful.

Really let me down. Had to do all work myself. No replies to emails. No replies to phone calls. 4 year member, was hoping to have them when I need them but I've been totally let down.

i had a physical attack event against me, i got injured, and i called the main office, so exactly one the head boss exactly found the most important thing to laugh at my accent, and refused to give help. i then left the membership, which was paid for many months, because ehat should expect from these people?????

Completely useless union. Calls never answered, emails not replied to. When staff change roles nothing is ever handed over so everything is back to the start again. Each time that I have needed them to help resolve an issue they have completely failed and I have had to do all the work myself.
