This is 2nd time I have attendance glow up studio and its was yet another excellent experience working the assigned photographer that made the whole experience more than pleasant

Great experience. Staff were lovely and accommodating. They made me feel comfortable and guided me through the whole thing. For a first time shoot, it was definitely a good experience. Worth the time.

All of the staff are welcoming, friendly and made me feel comfortable upon arrival, even beforehand constant communication to make sure I remembered the shoot day, time and location. I felt comfortable in the environment especially with the guided directions from the staff on site. Music selection is top tier on site too!

Had a wonderful time with Glow Up. Felt comfy, felt cute, felt pretty. And they did GORGEOUS hair and makeup on me! 10/10 would recommend 🥰✨

I was very nervous before arriving as it was my first photoshoot, but as soon as I entered I was put at ease by Amy on the front desk and Naomi doing the skincare/makeup/hair. The photographer was phenomenal, very professional and calmed my nerves about my outfits and my body image. She really encouraged me to embrace some of my own ideas/poses, and encouraged my husband to have a picture or 2 taken with me. I felt so at ease, I even included some Boudoir photographs instead of the straight style/fashion ones I originally went in for.

I would highly recommend to anyone to go for it, and I will be contacting again for future photoshoot opportunities.

I came with my friend who didn’t have much confidence in her body, I empowered her to love herself more. This is the first time she’s ever had a boudoir photoshoot, she absolutely loved all of it in the end. So it makes me extremely happy that she’s finally starting to love herself body and grow her confidence.
The photographer Hunti was so lovely, positive and boosted my friends confidence all the photos were fantastic and professional

Welcoming from second you walk in. Made to feel so comfortable even when you're ridiculously nervous. All the ladies here have been fabulous and walking away with shoots I'm very happy with. Definitely recommend

Really lovely staff, makeup is amazing and the experience is great, felt really confident for my first shoot and the pictures are amazing!

On reflection, both me and my friend were a bit mixed on this experience for a few reasons but we were ultimately very uncomfortable by the end due to what we felt were high pressure hard sale tactics.

My friend won a prize for a runner up photo shoot here. It became very obvious when looking at reviews that this is just a sales tactic this company use to get people through the door and to feel special.

The biggest reason for my review is the startling use of pressure tactics and hard sale techniques. You’re made to wait ages for your images after the photo shoot while they edit them and then told you can only go to see your own one by one (rather than with your friend). We found that odd, but It became apparent that this was so they could pressure you. When you get in the room, they show you a slideshow of yourself and measure your reaction. It’s awkward - you’re not sure if you should overreact or say nothing. Given the nature of the shoot, it’s a little uncomfortable one on one with a stranger who is not even involved in any other part of this entire process (they’re like a sales person and this is the first time you meet them). You’re then immediately given frankly insane prices for these DIGITAL images (£149 per one and £1499 I think for 20). As this is happening, you’re given a form to sign. It’s really hard to read it all quickly and there’s a bit of pressure to move fast (and it’s incredibly awkward). On that form, they make you rate them (and then look at what you wrote) and there are clauses there about confirming you were not pressured into buying, that they didn’t use hard sales tactics and then force you to waive your right to a refund. You’re told immediately after the slideshow that you won’t be allowed to leave and decide later on if you’d like the purchase and that the images will be deleted that date (this is a common sales tactic called ‘scarcity’ - designed to create a sense of pressure and urgency). For us, this ruined the entire experience. Whilst the shock of it didn’t really register initially, after we spoke about it me and my friend felt it important to write an honest review to warn others and felt very uncomfortable about the whole thing. We did purchase a couple of images which we both regret - and we would definitely not come back here or recommend. Another slight red flag is that they asked us towards the end what we did for work, we now think this was to probably size us up.

The actual experience itself was mixed too - whilst one of the makeup artists and the photographer were lovely, our makeup was rushed and so was hair, they burnt my friends scalp at the back with straighteners and used no heat protector on her hair. We both thought our makeup was too much and that we looked like drag queens and not like ourselves (which wasn’t what we wanted - though we didn’t voice this after the fact tbf to them). You do also waive your rights in the consent form at the beginning it anything goes wrong with your hair or makeup (skin irritation etc). I’m not sure if that’s normal, I’ve had professional makeup done for work head shots and never had to waive that right before - so that’s also a little suspicious.

The images themselves are kind of weird. They’re edited fast, in a generic way and they look quite unrealistic. When we looked at them at home we realised they gave us the ‘uncanny valley’ effect. I had a friend who had done a bunch of these and we showed her and she felt they were generic and quite bad quality.

All in all, the quality wasn’t amazing but the main issue here is the sales tactics. Given who this likely mainly attracts (young women), I find this quite unsettling.

I visited House of Glow Up in Manchester with my auntie for a photoshoot, and the entire experience was absolute perfection from start to finish.
I don't usually wear makeup, but I was open to stepping out of my comfort zone. The makeup artist put me in a bold red lipstick—something I never wear—and the hair styling was so relaxing. The end result was incredible; the makeup translated so beautifully on camera!
The studios themselves are fantastic:
Studio 1: A gorgeous, neutral beige setup featuring a chaise lounge, books, perfume bottles, and amazing lighting.
Studio 2: A moodier, sexier vibe equipped with a piano, leather high-back chair, a bath, and a bed.
Before and after the shoot, we were looked after brilliantly and offered drinks in their cozy, relaxing waiting areas.
When it came time to view the photos individually, I was genuinely blown away. I looked so glamorous—it was definitely me, but a version of myself I’m not used to seeing! It was such a massive confidence boost and a true bucket list moment. The package options were very fair, and the staff were generous with how they structured my photos.
I cannot recommend House of Glow Up enough. 10/10 for their care, service, and making us feel so special!

The main photographer was Georgia (awsome) again we talk about what sort of images and they turn out amaging again .I was cound a training photographer talk of pictures and of course i said YES her namw was Melissa(training) she agiain talked to me and we again came up was amazing photos..

hi i have recently had the most amazing experience at the house of glow it started with me feeling so anxious but as soon as i entered the studio i was met the the warmest welcome i truly, felt so relaxed every member of staff was professional and really friendly it was one of the most uplifting days i have ever experienced i have never done anything like this before but highly recommend the house of glow up i loved the whole experience from start to finish and left the studio with my head held high thanks to all the amazing staff from reception to the photographer to the editor and the owner witch are all angels and to top the whole day i was called by the lovley owner with the amazing news i had won the main prize and was gifted my whole shoot as the prize glory to god for creating such beautiful souls and reasuring me that wonderful things are possible thankyou again for this house of glow up kind regards liam x

Everyone was so lovely and made us feel comfortable and eased us into it - it was our first time doing anything like this and from hair&makeup to our photographers we were comfortable and had a great laugh with everyone!
