sent my classical guitar for a refret, received it back, the frets weren't levelled properly as I was expecting a level of 1/100th, when I checked with my tools they weren't level. Long story short, the luthier sorted it, but the experience with the staff was abysmal. After I voiced my concerns in a reasonable way, I was told that 'they could not understand how every other customer was happy, but I wasn't' which implied that all their other customers mattered, but I didn't. I started to get annoyed by the unprofessional response, but did not say anything rude or abusive, but the staff (don't remember his name, nor I wish to) started to accuse me of being 'rude', which annoyed me more. I mean, if I have to spend £ 220 to get unlevel frets, I can do it myself. This is not a bad review about the luthier, again he totally sorted it out 100 per cent. This is a negative review about the staff. That was my first and last time at Gig Gear. I'll 'gig my gear' elsewhere. Thumbs down.

Great product at a great price and fast delivery. Follow up customer service was brilliant too as they informed me of a manufacturer cashback offer I was not aware of after the purchase - they did not have to but I will now always go back there as that type of service is rare these days!! Thank you!!

I had lost one of my guitars and gig gear called me to tell me that someone had handed it into them after finding it. They called me and told me they had kept the guitar safe and sound for me to collect.

They went above and beyond to track me down so I could be reunited with my lost guitar.

I will continue to purchase from and recommend Gig Gear, as they have top products and genuinely care about their customers' experience.

Less than 24 hours after ordering, I received a new Epiphone guitar. It was in perfect condition, and all I had to do was tweak the string tunings. Perfectly set up and playable out of the box. All this and £150 less than the closest offer on the Internet! Their APC Overnight delivery partner are to be commended too, as they deivered on-time and courteously (more than recent exeriences with UPS). I will definitely be dealing with GigGear again, and will recommend them to friends and colleagues.

No problems with the ordering online although I did speak to them first, and my need for specifics as to deliveries and times were easily accommodated.
Comms throughout were excellent and the guitar - Shergold Telstar - was delivered on time with great tracking via UPS. It was well packed, in tune, and set up just right

I had to write a review about this place.
I rang them initially about a Sigma guitar that I was interested in. Right from the outset they were great. Courteous and professional. I instantly felt I could trust them. The price was also the best on the internet for the Sigma DTC-28HE I ordered.
They promised to check out the set up etc before sending out.
Well it came and wow. Its exceeded my expectations. It plays, smells and sound like a Martin.

Giggear has taken care of my every need for 21 years now. Well stocked, great prices and the guys always go the extra mile and then some.
I also wouldn’t dream of going on tour without having my guitars set up by Barrie first! It’s a must!

Giggear has been my go to shop for anything guitars for years now. The people in there have always been so approachable and down to earth, but most importantly have always given me excellent advice, not to mention to range of stuff they have there. This is the place to go if you play an instrument and live in the area

Bought a 2nd hand Strat from GigGear. Couple of minor issues with the setup (to be expected). Not only did they have it set up by their guitar tech and ready to collect within 24 hours, they also managed to swap out a set of pups in my semi-hollow in that time which saved me a trip. Amazing.

On top of this, I found the same guitar 2nd hand in another store and the (very helpful and friendly) manager Rob agreed to retrospectively price match. Above and beyond expectations, top customer service. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks to the staff with special thanks to Rob!

Incorrectly lists products as 'in stock' when they are not. Ordered on two separate occasions with Gig Gear now and both times shortly after placing an order I get an email stating the guitar is not actually in stock and will be coming from Fender's warehouse instead in a couple of weeks.

Not hard to implement/use an automatic stock system - please implement this as advertiisng a product as 'in stock' when it isn't doesn't look great.

Charlie took the time (and patience) to answer at least 21 questions from a novice about guitars and helped me pick out an electric guitar and the appropriate gear to go with it; all without pushing the beginner budget. Simon also contacted me as soon as my order came in and was polite and friendly on collection.

I look forward to returning for future products & support.

A big thank you to Charlie from Gig Gear. Charlie came upstairs with me showed me the Yamaha guitar I requested in the shop in Harlow. He stayed with me while I had a play on the guitar. He answered a lot of questions about a variety of things I asked. He then helped me to find the right case for the guitar and a strap. I chose Gig Gear because of their massive selection on guitars and because I wanted a second Yamaha guitar. It was nice coming into a friendly shop with the guys seeming friendly and upbeat. Ordered two items on Monday evening. One was in stock, the other wasn't, so they phoned me, explained the situation and offered some solutions, which was to the satisfaction of both parties. The items arrived today (Friday) as described and in good time. Some larger corporations could learn a thing or two regarding customer service from this online retailer. Deffo 5 stars

Terrible attitude in store.

Yeah they were full of Christmas spirit when I asked to purchase an empty box so I could post a guitar for my nephews Christmas present. Apparently they need them all now its Christmas 😂 yeah because loads of people want to walk out of the shop with a massive shipping box when they buy a guitar in store🤔 They make you laugh, they want us to support their store (even though they are more expensive than most online sellers) as I always do with strings etc, 4 new guitars this year alone (None with their shipping boxes I might add) and they couldn't even help me out. 😔 Well that's one customer they have lost. Christmas Grinches 🎄

Nothing vicious about it and I wasn't singling out any particular employee just the fact that all your guitars come in boxes so if they need shipping you would use those. A box from a guitar sold in store is all I asked for and was willing to purchase but there was absolutely no help and I think that is very poor considering how much support that not just I have given you during these "difficult" times that we have ALL endured but also your local community gives you. It would be nice of you to give something back. I find your reply as flippant and as nonchalant as it was in store. Nothing vicious, just a heads up to everyone which is what this site is for.
