Nice and comfortable. Only lasted a couple of weeks before toe ware and front left detached from sole at the toe. I have resorted to Evo stick contact adhesive for repairs.

I have had two pairs of the ladies waterproof walking shoes. Both bought from sports direct and they are only used for dog walking locally. They are very comfortable and waterproof but noticed very quickly with the first pair, that they looked cracked and split across the top over the toes, and were also split where the cracks meet the sole. I thought it was just a faulty pair that I had bought, so because liked them I bought another pair. Again they have split in exactly the same place on both shoes! I know they aren’t expensive but I expect them to last when only used 3 or 4 times a week for dog walking. Really disappointed. Don’t waste your money on them.

Very comfortable and are waterproof, but do not last long. The material is peeling and fraying after a few months. This means they are no longer waterproof, and the upper is coming away from the sole. Some of the material is cracking also. I bought these in the summer and have not worn them everyday and hardly at all over winter as wear wellies. So very disappointed. It is difficult to find an affordable yet durable pair of waterproof shoes. My last waterproof boots, also from Gelert were also disappointing with longevity. They are comfortable to wear, even for long walking distance on road and trail, but will not buy again as they haven’t even lasted 6 months.

Only buy Gelet shoes or boots if you don't intend to use them very much!

They do not last long although initially they are very comfortable. I bought my pair of Gelert Men Horizon Low Waterproof Mens Walking Shoes from Sports Direct to walk in the fields and the hills locally and I log every walk I do. Over a 5 month period I walked 180 miles and one of the soles almost completely came away from the uppers and both shoes showed a lot of signs of wear. Unfortunately I did not take them back to the shop promptly and when I did I was three days over the 6th month guarantee period apparently, so they refused to exchange them. When I tried to complain to Gelet and to Sports Direct via their respective websites and emails I quickly realised that although they appeared to be separate companies Sports Direct actually owns Gelet. I never got to talk to anyone by phone and the emails just went round and round in circles directing me to the other company. A different person (or bot) answered the email each time and ignored my description of what had happened. In the end I gave up as they only cost me £35.

Don't waste your money, you need to spend more than this to get a reasonably hard-wearing pair of walking shoes. I had a pair of similar shoes made by Karrimor and they lasted at least five years. I have a pair now made by Merrell now that look very similar and have already been used more and for longer, they have shown no signs of wear yet.

It's kind of sad , previously I have bought other Gelet products like an excellent double walled pop up tent. They must have been taken over by new owners and their standard of manufacture has plummeted. I won't be buying anything from Gelet or Sports Direct (who owns Gelet) from now on.

Bought a pair of Gelert Horizon walking shoes from Sports Direct (who appear to only allow reviews from online purchases). The shoes are absolute rubbish, I've had them barely 4 months and both shoes have splits in the top and sides, and the rubber sole has already worn through. Don't waste your money on these.

Bought a pair of boots thinking they were a good purchase. Wore them once a week, walking around 10 miles.
After only 8 months the sole of one boot has come away from the boot.
Contacted customer services and provided pictures of the boot and receipt.
Was told that Gelert would do nothing about this.
Poor quality goods. Poor quality service.
Will never buy them again and would never recommend them to anyone.
Will go back to Karrimor.

Fell apart. Only 6 months old and the soles are coming off both shoes and they lost their waterproof protection quick. Why are you selling tat like this ? Surely the amount of negative reviews must shake you into action about making a new durable waterproof trainer.

So got some reusable hand warmers , biggest pile of crap I’ve ever bought , if this company still as these on sale they are nothing but crooks !!!!

The boots I bought were at first comfortable and I got two walking trips (6 days in total) out of them before the soles started separating and are now completely unusable.

Surely the glue used should last more than a year?

I wanted a shoe and I tried diffrent shoes but shoes are looking good but bad quality and I went to Sports Direct for some nice shoes and I was just walking and I so a brand name gelert and it looked very good and I buy it I bought it since 2023 December 8th and now its 2025 December 28th its still okay and if it broke I will buy anther pair of it

Bought two pairs of Gelert walking boots from Sports Direct Ireland. In under two months they both fell apart. The sole becomes detatched from the front, the lace catch broke on one. The fabric on the toes scratched off after a week or two. Not waterproof either. Terrible quality.

What a waste of a brand!
Sports Direct do it again. Walking boots that literally start falling apart within weeks. Soles becoming unglued from the uppers, tears on the inner lining, soles splitting...absolute joke, and they haven't even been worn for hiking, just road walking.

Bought some mid height boots from Sports Direct, liked the look, fit and comfort but after very little use they are literally falling to pieces. Wouldn't buy this brand again.

Rubbish quality & rubbish customer service. if you want a pair of walking boots that the soles come off after just 12 months occasional wear then Gelert is the go to brand. Their customer service is even worse, emailed my concerns & sent pictures, after two insincere reply’s I was told I’d need to get an independent report to prove the product was at fault before I might get a partial refund or replacement. My advice is to look at other alternatives to Gelert products they are just not worth spending good money on, all round 💩.

My husband purchased a pair of Gelert boots from Skegness branch of Sports direct in October 2023. Having worn them approximately 20 times, (no wear on heels or soles, we have photos ) splits and holes appeared towards the end of September 2024. On returning to the shop on 28th September 2024 presented to a member of staff who said " well that was last year" correct but not 12 months which we thought was the guarantee, asked to speak to the manager. He reiterated what the staff member said and in an aggressive manner said their guarantee is only for 6 months. No mention of that on their website.
As we got nowhere my husband sent an email to customer service, waste of time and effort, automated reply saying customer service will be in touch. Good job we're not holding our breath. Shocking goods and even worse customer service, will not be going there again. AVOID!!

Awful walking shoes. I purchased a pair from sports direct in May, walked maybe 10k over the course of a month and the souls came off the bottom of the shoe and cracks appeared. I taken them back and got new pair of the same. Same thing happened within one month. I emailed Gelert several times asking why the quality is so poor and asked if they have changed their manufacturing process as these used to be a quality brand. All I received was a reply to take them back for a refund to sports direct. (8 emails recieved from them all saying same thing and no explanation to the question I asked about manufacturing which says all I need to know) very poor. Will never use again.

Absolute sham of a company. Terrible products that don’t last. Walking boots I bought literally came apart within a few months. Sent photos to Gelert and just got the usual generic response. No admission of anything, ‘just sorry to hear the product has a problem’ and suggested I ‘have a wonderful day’. DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT UNDER THE GELERT BRANDING. Customer service has to be one of the worst online. They couldn’t care less. Having looked at some of the 80% terrible reviews one would think they would want to improve but I’m sorry to say the staff in the alleged customer service department aren’t really qualified - to put it politely - to deal with anything. No particular skills in anything. I have sent several emails and have got nowhere. Even asked for a contact number but apparently there isn’t one! Ummm I wonder why they don’t want to give that out! One can only assume they would be inundated with calls from the 80% - and increasing - of customers who clearly have valid complaints. Makes you wonder what the interview process is for a position in customer service for Gelert. If they are so bad, which they are, it’s scary to think how awful and seriously under qualified the management must be! Absolute disgrace and they should be ashamed but judging by their process of dealing with customers we can safely assume they couldn’t care less.

I have a really hideous experience with one of your products which I will attach all the needed so you can review and take the right decision, as the invoice states the shoe was purchased on the 24th of May but I started wearing the shoe around a week after then within a month I started witnessing the shoe is literally breaking off not as stated at all on all over your website or the places you advertise your product, it started to torn apart it is like am wearing a plastic bag! Not waterproof as well at all , my feet soaked in water literally, you can check the pictures that I even took after two weeks from the issue which is unbelievable! The last pictures which you can see the dates it became unwearable at all the bottom took off from the body of the shoes. Bear in mind I only used it for driving and in normal deliveries which was effortless to cause this kind!!! I am looking forward to your appropriate action about this experience.

My husband is on his 8th or 10th pair of these, they only seem to last about 6 to 8 weeks and then they start falling apart. Breaking away from the heel or the foot end despite having to use strong glue which doesn't hold it for long. The price is ridiculous for these, he only uses them for dog walking. Wouldn't buy them anymore.
