Extranomical Tours, founded in 2002, is a San Francisco sightseeing tour company that specializes in tours for people who generally do not like to take tours. Our clientele is very independent and likes to venture to places where most tour companies don't go to. Due to the small size of our groups, our guests receive a more personalized and exclusive experience from us. Our tours offer a distinct "traveling with friends" feel, so that most people interact with each other and so we are able to visit locations larger vehicles do not. For example, we have a short hike up to the Giant Sequoia grove on our one day Yosemite tour from San Francisco. On our California wine country tours, we visit small family-owned boutique wineries (too small for large buses) that produce such limited quantities you can only buy their wine at their winery!
We are fully insured and licensed by the State of California Public Utilities Commission and are regulated and inspected annually by the California Highway Patrol. We are proud members in good standing at the San Francisco Travel Association. All of our drivers are drug tested at the time of hire as well as at random times throughout the year. We make sure that our vehicles are always in excellent mechanical condition by inspecting daily and keeping a rigid maintenance schedule.
We train all of our guides one-on-one to make sure that they are knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all, safe. All of our guides are also friendly, informative, and experienced. We test drivers on a periodical basis on their knowledge of the areas we visit. We also maintain a training program and a resource library for guides to stay current on relevant material.
We carefully select the locations we explore on our tours to maximize your time and see the best of the best, while always maintaining an adventurous yet easy-going atmosphere. On our tours we have a comfortable amount of time where you are with the group, but we also give you enough time on your own so you can choose from different activities that interest you such as hiking, shopping, museums, or just taking in the beauty.

Die Tour gut
Die Tour gut, vor allem Muir Woods, Sausalito etwas kurz mit 1 h , aber wer länger bleiben will, kann mit dem Ferry fahren gegen Aufpreis. Booking com Buchung war in dem Fall nicht so toll, da die Partner Gesellschaft extranomical die Abholungszeit verändert hat am Abend davor, aber uns nicht gebucht hat. Die Organisation direkt am Abholort hat aber alles geregelt und wir konnten mitfahren.

Great day spending it with Dustin....
We enjoyed our tour with Dustin Rotstein. First off, Dustin was very friendly, went straight to the facts and was very knowledgeable. We started our tour with Muir Woods. WOW! Everyone must go check out the Redwoods. So amazing! So much history and beauty in these woods. I was completely amazed.
Then we continued to Sonoma Valley for wine tasting. Sonoma Valley is so beautiful and they produce great wine!
Onto Napa Valley, again great wine tasting. Dustin being in the culinary industry un the past provided us with great recommendations of where to eat at Sonoma Plaza, and had great wine starting stops. Being from Canada, and not being able to purchase wine from my favorite U.S regions is sad, but was such a great day. We took advantage of tasting great wine. I hope to be back in the future. Great job an reigning us all in Dustin and keeping us in-line and on-time. Your knowledge was greatly appreciated!

Amazing and safe experience
We just returned from an amazing trip to Yosemite and our experience with Sharon was outstanding! She was an exceptional driver, extremely careful and attentive on the road. Yosemite outstanding- tour guide not so much
Yosemite outstanding!!! HOWEVER our group was left waiting an hour over schedule for morning pickup without so much of an apology with concerns for the microphone not working and were advised we would not receive facts and info along the way.
We were the first pickup however our guide was not driving and had an additional female friend with him.
We were further delayed as two passengers were denied entry (they had a valid ticket) and we had to come back 20 minutes later to recollect them
Our guide appeared more interested in interacting with his female friend who tagged along for the tour than providing a guided tour.
The microphone that supposedly caused our delay magically started working
We were rushed through the park due to our unplanned late start and were left waiting in the bus at the sequoias for 30minutes for our driver to finish his smoke outside of the bus with his friend needing to get him on our behalf
Our drive home was preceded by the expectation that the service should be tipped for the tour and advertised his expectation from past tips he had received
Yosemite was an excellent once in a lifetime destination and whilst we paid for a guided tour we ultimately paid for a lift there

Great tour!
We thought the tour we went on was great! Muir Woods, the wine valley and bridge, although that was really foggy were all great. Dustin, our tour guide was very nice, very informative and very laid back and funny. He was great, I’d recommend him for sure if your taking a tour around the area.

12 hours bus ride… Crazy
The tour was nice but they should’ve said that 12 out of the 15 hours of the tour are inside the bus… this is a trip that needs at least a 1-2 nights in the yosemite valley. Regardless, the visit was nice and Albert (the tour guide and driver) was good. The actual visit to yosemite was about 2.5 hours of free time in the lodges and surrounding area and 1.5 hour walk in the giant sequoia forest. They should really make that very clear…

Amazing Day!
We had Dustin as our tour guide, and he was such an amazing guide - he made the day really fun and enjoyable! We visited three incredible wineries, and had a lovely lunch at Sonoma Plaza! We would highly recommend booking onto this tour!

My experience was both amazing and smooth
My experience was both amazing and smooth! Our bus driver made everything so much fun and did a good job pointing out cool things and telling us about them! She was also amazing by just continuing to buy water for the bus,wipes and sanitizer! Lastly she was so kind and charged our phone for us too !
