I booked a ticket for my 76 year old mum about a month in advance unfortunately she took Ill on the day of the journey. I thought there is no way off getting a refund for her but I was very wrong. I emailed them 1 hour before her journey explaining what had happened and within an hour I had a reply saying they would refund her minus an admin fee. She was over the moon and very impressed

An embarrassment and joke of a train service. Incompetent and rude staff, extortionate prices and trains that leave early or are delayed for too long and are crammed.

Absolutely awful service today! Bought my ticket from Derby to Carlton with a stop in Nottingham. Journey details was platform 1C. Asked the platform assistant and was told 1C. No train turns up. Went to customer service and was met by a very rude and arrogant Fran! She told me although the ticket was the same price from Derby to Carlton I’d been given a ticket from Derby to Nottingham and no refund was going to be given! She then went on to say ‘well, don’t you check your change in a shop? Same goes for your ticket’. Disgusted with her attitude!

Service was good but really shocked by the filthy covers and headrests on seats. They were so disgusting I sat upright for 3 hours in an attempt to stay away from them. Never seen a train carriage so filthy. Why???

Quite possibly the worst railway provider ever, Trains are always late and never on time not to mention dangerously overcrowded due to lack of carriages which is always an issue. Always quick to take your money but not provide a good service it’s the worst I’ve ever known the network since East Midlands Railway have taken over !!! They want the franchise taken off them. Couldn’t run a p*ss up in a brewery !!!!!

If I could give a review with no star I was going for it. This train line should either be improved or closed! They are just dumping people into trains!

The most embarrassing experience ever, never came across such an embarrassing service. Never mind carriages were extremely dirty, I missed very important meeting because train stopped for 40 minutes with no explanation whatsoever and than changed final destination. Shame I didn’t read reviews before I bought ticket for EMR service. If you read this, spare yourself nerves and frustration and DO NOT USE EAST MIDLAND RAILWAY EVER!

Seriously cannot believe this company has such shocking customer service. They clearly don’t care. I could not believe the reviews, even worse than I thought. My ‘problem’ pales into insignificance compared to others. However EMR should not be advertising on their website that the First class lounge is open at St. Pancras, when it is not actually open. It is being used for extra staff facilities! So if you pay the extra for a First class ticket, you most certainly will not get your money’s worth.

Filled the right form with customer service, got email confirmation and no refund given. Sent email back..guess what? They can't see that reference number in their system. Absolutely ridiculous!!

Filled correct form for my refund. I received a response asking me for further information from a do not rely to email and no other contact details. Amazing

Never been first class, in fact I moved carriages for peace and quiet. Toss pot playing his music and video on his phone full volume. EMR employee wouldn’t tell them to turn it off as she knew him and his motley crue. Swearing continuously. No food choice other than biscuits. Joke. Should get rid of first class and call it EMR staff coach.

Absolute shower of s***. Train on 12/2/22 08:48 Boston to Leeds via Grantham was cancelled so had to get lift to Grantham to get connection. EMR denying refund due to ticket being used. These companies should not exist.

The Sheffield to Manchester train at 1543 today was totally overcrouded. About 8 of us were crammed in the area between coaches with more standing in the Isles. Will wait for a TPA Train next time, This croud are shocking.

Market rasen to lincoln _ sat near a man listening to video of swearing material, played loudly, no headphones, near kids hearing this, no staff about to stop this inappropriate behaviour, Lincoln to hykeham train was so packed, no seats, no masks, 2 carriages, never again, if this goverment wants us. To ditch cars, i suggest you sort out capacity and demand as. I felt unsafe, no staff, overcrowded, no masks, could not wait to depart the train, back to car i go!

I’ll never use this platform, delayed and unhelpful customer service. Don’t waste your money they won’t be able to resolve issues; promise a call back and never do!

Staff was impatient and rude in assisting customer. I'd rate 0 if it's possible.

Highly unpleasant, arrogant jobsworth staff working for a money grabbing organisation providing below par service. God forbid you try to take a slightly earlier service, all at ‘super off peak’ times (original booking and attempted service), on a completely empty train. ‘Get off or pay an additional £81 for a new ticket. Just doing my job’. Hope they all remember to be human at some point and don’t grumble if
Karma ensures they are treated in a similar fashion elsewhere in their lives

Cancelled delayed, utter crap, everytime my partner comes to me its an absolute nightmare. Company should be dissolved and sold to, a half blind canary could do a better job.
1 star only because trust pilot doesnt do zero.

Very few delays (max 15mins) from sheff -> Notts, usually lots of space for me to get work done. Occasionally gets very busy but i suppose that pays for the train. Not bad on an hour journey with few stops anyway. Sheffield to London also a great route, especially on the quiet evening routes. Very clean and warm trains. Really they're just basic clean warm trains that run on time, and at certain times they're comparatively cheap, what more do you want?

Awful service. Nottingham to Bottesford service Sat 11Dec at 1645, train was meant to stop at Bottesford and they even announced before Bottesford that 'next stop Bottesford' but the train did not stop, my daughter rang in a panic and I had to pick her up from Grantham. Logged a complaint, waited until today and when I rang EMR they claimed that the train did stop....why the h*ll I would make this story up and drive 20 minutes to Grantham to pick my daughter up? Absolute joke!!
