Further to your reply to our review. As you appear to have not understood any of our previous communications including this review, where we thought we had made it clear that all we wanted was what we paid for.....a kitchen that lasts a lot longer than 5 years! If you had replaced our doors with ones that didn't delaminate and not charge us for the privilege, we would not have had to post this review which over 100 people have seen. Consumer advice would suggest that a kitchen costing thousands of pounds should last a lot longer than 5 years. Would you not agree?

When we got our kitchen installed in 2014, initially we were very happy...... however this did not last! One by one the laminate started to peel away from the doors. Initially the company replaced them under warranty but as time has gone on they started to refuse to replace the doors free of charge, even within warranty! This was until we got Trading Standards involved, DM then backed down and replaced all the doors after blaming the door manufacturer, who they no longer use. Now, surprise, surprise, the replaced doors are starting to go the same way. DM design has now decided that their 5 year warranty is more important than their customer service! Who in their right mind would think it is okay to supply and fit doors in a kitchen then say stuff like.."you're not the only customer with the same problem" and "it's because the dishwasher has been opened before it's finished it's cycle". This despite the fact that (1) DM designed our kitchen and therefore knew the layout of our kitchen and (2) all doors have failed at one time or another and some of them are 3 metres away from any heat or moisture! The quality of the goods is poor, the customer service is worse. We shopped around and picked DM because they were a local company and we felt this would help with any issues...... how wrong we were! Who expects their kitchen to only last 5 years? This company are only interested until they've got your money, after that you'd better hope you don't have issues with your kitchen! Surely, if a fault develops which is clearly down to poor manufacturing, you extend the warranty for good customer service not wait until the guarantee expires, then wash your hands? Stay away!

Oh one happy bunny here. Tidy clean happy fitters,plumber & electrician. The whole experience was great. Thankyou all the team.

Our kitchen has been recently installed by the DM design team and would definitely recommend. Communication is good and the joiners Allan and Craig were great! Already recommended to friends and family. No issue has been unresolved thanks to there installations manager and team all you have to do is call them. All we are waiting on now is our up-stands to be fitted as had to wait for that to be cut as it’s granite. Thanks guys 10/10!

Professional staff and stunning products. Would recommend DM Design to anyone looking to renovate their home.

We have used them twice in our bedroom and our bathroom the work was done very well the installers were very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem that was back in 2016. Had a problem with a few cracked tiles in January 2020 to no fault of the installers and they went out of their way to help me would differently use them again their help was excellent

Good sales guy .. interested in what we wanted, not what he thought he could up-sell. Quite expensive ( but that's just me ! ) but good quality and very well fitted indeed. Quoted dates were adhered to ... all in all a good experience. Their fitter was very good and at the end of the job, cleared up and vacuumed the area.

Sales team amazing, surveyor great it was when we got to the communication part from the installation team that we had some issues.

Was promised a fit date that did not happen, which was extremely disappointing. After numerous phone calls with Andrea in customer service (who is a real credit to the company) Jannick arrived and completed the bathroom to an amazing high standard in record time meaning I got my bathroom done before Christmas.

Love the look, the design, the fixtures and fittings. Very happy indeed.

Had a great experience from start to finish. The designer who came out to see me was experienced and was able to work around my awkward requests to create an end product that is simply stunning. The fitting team were in and out quicker than I expected and at the end of it I was left shocked and how great a job they did.

Will be recommending to anyone in need of a new kitchen.

Very Professional at all times. Nothing too much trouble for them. Very tidy for workmen too.

I am really glad that I chose DM design. The design is perfect for my kitchen and I love the units. I also appreciated having a great installation team. The joiners in particular were friendly and hardworking.

I am delighted with the work carried out by DM design and would recommend them. It was a new build house and they carried out the minor snaggings to my satisfaction. Very pleasant staff too.

Just had our kitchen completed, great service. Joiners, Derek and Danny, plumber, Colin and electrician, George were great guys, nothing was a problem for them, they cleaned up after themselves and removed all the rubbish. All work completed within 14 hours. A couple of things damaged but get this sorted soon. Would definitely recommend.

Kirsten came out, talked us through the options and was extremely nice and personable!

We love our new kitchen,John the sales man came out and he was amazing got everything sorted in no time the next stage was done fast and within a week the kitchen was started took the fitters 2 days to get everything done more than happy with this the guys that fitted the kitchen are really good as well and nice guys just waiting on a shelf that was missing and the base of one drawer is needing fixed but this will hopefully be sorted soon these are minor issues, overall smooth and stress free experience I would highly recommend DM design

I was contacted out of the blue by this company, stating I was eligible for a large discount as I had shown interest in a purchasing a bathroom off of them a few years previously which in all honesty I don’t even remember enquiring about.

So they got my attention and said they would do me a great deal on my bathroom. I arranged a date for one of their team to come and see my current bathroom and to make up a plan. The guy was decent, spent a bit of time with me saying what they could do for me etc and the plan sounded decent actually.

I was told they just got new software for their computers and it was a little glitchy when trying to make my design in the house. Time was going on and the guy had told me about his family etc and I kinda felt bad as it was quite late on a Friday night and I said to him he could complete the design when he had more time to get it done properly so that he could go home and spend the rest of the evening with his family. The sales guy seemed grateful and assured me that he would email me my design to let me actually see how the bathroom would look when finished, so I said ok.

Several days later I got an email from him stating that he couldn’t get his software sorted but gave me the quoted price (which was more expensive than what he quoted in my house). I asked him I would still like an email of the design he had in mind before I committed to any deal, so he agreed to send me one which would take a couple of days. I said ok.

He then sent me a completely different design to what we had discussed and I was not happy with it, he said he would fix it and send me another one. Then I heard nothing for genuinely over a week.

So I called to confirm what was happening and couldn’t get a hold of the salesman who’s name was Tom. A member of the team took some details and said she would look into it. Then I heard nothing again.

I phoned AGAIN as I thought this was very poor service and got put through to the actual owner of DM design which I was very surprised at. I said I don’t think it merited speaking with the owner and he said to just tell him what the issue was. So I did, he confirmed they had just been given new software that wasn’t great but he would still get a design sent to me. STILL nothing!

I genuinely thought as I had spoken with the owner and the length of time this had all taken I would have been given a discount or something maybe? But no, not even a design to let me make a decision on if I wanted to go ahead and buy a bathroom suite or not.

Shocking service, I never actually complain and tried to help Tom the salesman out by giving him more time to complete the design due to the new software upgrade.

I wouldn’t recommend this company at all.

The following is our feedback which makes distressing reading you will find.

Bathroom
1. Sales pitch sounded good. But:
Initial measurements not accurate but corrected by surveyor.
We were told that surface material for cupboards and around sink was stain resistant. Not so as we have a mark which assorted cleaners have been unable to remove.
2. Installation was relatively quick and efficient. However, a number of problems have arisen subsequently.
a. Toilet becomes blocked every three to four months. We are very careful to ensure that only toilet paper is flushed down the toilet. We have invested in a plunger which eventually clears the pipes. Correct gauge of pipe used?
b. Sliding doors on the shower tend to come out of the runners. We have been able to refit the castors until the latest incident so we would appreciate some assistance in this regard as soon as possible.

Kitchen
This operation was at best shambolic ranging to systemic operational failure!
As with the bathroom the sales pitch was impressive. However perhaps if there had been less talking and more listening to what we actually required some of the issues might have been avoided. See below
Dishwasher
We were offered a “free dishwasher!” We advised the salesman that we were very happy with our current one but were told that DM were replacing like for like or very similar – a separate cutlery drawer was the deal breaker. We were assured that would be no problem. It was. The machine that arrived was not as described. But they did not check with us until it had been fitted – so it had to be taken out again!
Sink
We were told that the material the sink was made of would be as good and stain resistant and chip proof as a normal sink. Not so.
Oven
We were promised a high quality cooker. We have had engineers from the company called out on three occasions to repair the small oven as the element proved not just faulty but dangerous in that on the third occasion it exploded and completely burnt out. On all three occasions it tripped all the power. We did call your company on the first occasion but were simply advised that you would be unable to help and we should go direct to the manufacturer. However, I would point out that under European law for products liability you as the retailer and installer would be our first port of call in the event of any damage and/or injury by supplying a faulty product.
Installation.
A job which we were told would take 3-4 days dragged out for over weeks.
We accept the initial delay of a day in that because of the snow storms we ourselves advised you by email not to attempt the journey.
However, the following day your team arrived and proceeded to rip out all the exiting kitchen. It was simply deposited on the pavement outside our house. We were to surprised and shocked to find that it was still there at the end of the day,( uncovered and no warning signs) with no provision to remove it apparently that night.
Our door opens directly on to the pavement where this the material left lying, uncovered strewn about the pavement. It remained there for a week!
We had comment from the local council as to why this obstruction to the public walkway was there. Apparently your one and only van had an accident the following day and was unable to remove the materials! No contingency plan was in place apparently!? Was it beyond your resources to have hired a van?
We were without kitchen facilities for some three weeks, Workmen appeared intermittently to carry out various pieces of work usually after a call from us, but without any apparent coordination between the different tasks, joinery, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Yet again as with the bathroom, initial measurements were found to be incorrect including one where an entire cupboard had to be replaced as both depth of the cupboard and the door measurements were incorrect. Replacement whilst better still inadequate.
Despite numerous phone calls to your company – Friday afternoons were particularly useless in finding anyone in authority – and emails with outstanding lists it still took the above unacceptable time mentioned to complete.
We did have one call some time after asking for feedback which basically reduced my wife to tears but again no action taken.

We had a further email last month asking for feedback - to which we replied as above alongwith photographs, but surprise surprise have heard nothing further. Not really surprised.

The work was carried out and the fitters did a great job @ cleaned up after they where done left no mess.The finish of the wardrobe is excellent and they also removed the old one.

Very happy with our built in wardrobes joiners very pleasant & work done by them excellent room left very clean & tidy
