D and B Militaria Anmeldelser 

Up until now, I have not had the best of experiences with dealing with this company. However, there are positive factors to consider regarding this company that have recently come to light. So I will address this rather fairly:
1, In 2019 - I made purchase a Schmidt Rubin 1889, that had been advertised in having matching numbers. What I received was a mock up of one made of spare parts that had a clipped magazine strip that I couldn't even cycle inert bullets with. I made a complaint to Google, and D&B Militaria responded, by sending somebody to make an exchange for another. One which I gratefully accepted, and is one I'm rather fond in having. Having received it as a sort of untouched time capsule, from which I have over the years up to this enjoyed restoring.
As of this year, 2023, and decided to give D&B another chance, in buying one more rifle from them. A Steyr Mannlicher 1886, which was not a batched item like the Rubin, and they were even helpful enough to show me pictures. But upon recieving the item, even though I was forewarned the bolt stuck, which is not uncommon with these models. There was a reason for this particular model that had been overlooked. And it was because it had a cracked bolt, and looked like somebody had a go hammering it back in whilst assisting it with oil to slide back in. But before I fully cotton onto that fact, I managed to pull it out but couldn't get it back in.
From that point I felt I had been duped into buying an off the books deactivated weapon. With the purpose of ensuring that this obsolete calibre intact rifle could not be used if somebody tried to reproduce the bullet. In this case -me. Even though its perfectly legal to reproduce the bullet, if you have a section 1 firearms licence and have your particular registered as one at a gun club if you intended to fire it. In any case, I felt rather offended and felt I would not get my money back if I complained about it.
As it turned out, I was wrong -and the staff came across as rather understanding with the problem. And we're quite willing to send somebody to collect the rifle, without there being any expense to me. And quite surprisingly refunded me in paying also back for the delivery that had been included in the charge when I'm bought it. So I'm quite grateful for that; but I shall ask them that next time they make proper inspection of each obsolete that it is undamaged. At least from the external point of view. And if it is, mark it as in need for restoration. But I shall keep them on my books for now, and hope they read this and recognise there is need for improvement.

Have been looking for an SLR L1A1 for some time and wanted one in excellent condition and also manufactured in 1962, my birth year. D and B had the exact one I wanted and it was in exactly the condition they described. Barry answered my several mails quickly with answers to my queries. As an Ex Army Armourer I can confirm they know what they are on about. This was a very friendly service and fast delivery. Item delivered in excellent condition, extremely well packaged, as described and within 22 hours of me ordering, amazing, will definitely use them again!

Put in my first order last week with D&B for a few bits of ordnance for my lads birthday. Have to say I received a great service all round. I’ve been delving in and out of ordnance collecting for almost 40 years myself and from what I can see (and experienced), D&B offer a superb range of items that are both accurately described and faithfully presented. Their pricing is also realistic and competitive. I think you’d have to look hard to find better value elsewhere….maybe only by bargaining at your local Militaria Fair.
