Decided to treat myself to a piece of history and be the centrepiece of my man cave. And that is an L1A1 (SLR) rifle.
There were a couple of places online that sold these beauties, but D and B Militaria is who I went with. Communication was excellent and the purchase and payment process was very simple. Delivery was problem free and my centrepiece arrived the next day. The SLR itself was clean, but obviously used (not that I expected in any way to be like new). The wood was well looked after with very few scuffs. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.

My first experience with D&B militaria was around November last year 2024. I have been looking for a anti aircraft Tripod to go with my Bren gun, to add to our display for my RAF Battle of Britain living history group, RAF Dodwick, Blast from the past.

I noticed one for sale on D&Bs website and I called them straight away. I was met with a very helpful gentleman who sorted out a great deal for me before they closed that Friday evening and promised to remove it from the site over the weekend and to call me back on Monday morning to take payment which did.

The tripod was posted out for next day delivery and I received as promised. The Bren Tripod was just amazing and looks fantastic with my Bren, needles to say, I was very happy.

My next dealing with Barry and his team was 17th January 2025. That Friday evening I ordered a Bren Magazine Box with 12 Mags, again to go with my groups Bren display. I order the box from there website very easily and I had confirmation very quickly to my email address within minutes.

Monday 20th January then decided that I would like some .303s to go with the Mags. I called that morning and spoke to Barry. Barry was very helpful on adding some .303s to my order and said it would go out that afternoon and will be next day delivery.

The mag box arrived the next day and again I was really happy. The Mag box was better then I expected and the Bren Mags look great with some .303s in them, just wished I had ordered more .303s :)

I highly recommend going to Barry and his team at D&B Militaria, great services, very helpful and I will be very much going back to them to buy again.

I hope to get to say hello to you guys at Stoneleigh Militaria next month.

Thanks to Barry and his staff when I ordered my new purchase. I traded in my 50 round drum mag and gave me a great price on request. The rifle was delivered promptly and very well packed. Yesterday I purchased I a German B1E from them and within less than 24 hours the item arrived safely very well packed and actually better overall condition than their description stated.
I can’t praise them high enough and will be using them again in the near future I,m sure .

Terrible customer service - on more than one occasion. Paid a deposit on a de-act., several months later, being totally ignored by the firm and no sign of the item I am waiting for - which WAS at the Proof House several months ago...
The second negative experience: I ordered an item from them via a third party outlet (they also sell via an auction house too) unknown to me or I'd have not bothered - as D & B managed to mess up the 48Hour Tracked shipping that I paid for by entering a totally different postcode than the one they'd been given....and not one that I ever had any connection to: this only took eight days to sort out, with a lot of blame passing from this firm to/from the third party, so well past the 2 day delivery I had expected/paid for. A basic lack of attention to detail but no problem for THEM as they had their money, so stuff the customer!
