Craigslist has been most helpful for my selling things over several years along with my Toyota Corolla in 2022. For just $10 I sold my car very fast on the next day for $12k to a dealer who stopped by. CL made selling used stuff a dream come true I really appreciated.

The biggest problem I’ve ever had is in CL’s Rants and Raves section. R&R’s been nothing but red flags of my 3 articles I posted for the first time recently after from years ago. There was no valid reason to censor my article on gnats and fruit flies especially. It was a waste of my time and very unfair.

They need to get rid of Rants and Raves that could be sued for once again over political protected rights it censors unlawfully. It’s being run by cultists apparently.

I've enjoyed using Craigslist and have had great luck finding roommates and selling odds and ends.
I would love to see it expand to offer shipping.

I have been trying to re-home 7 puppies on Craigslist for the last 5 weeks. Out of 16 attempted posts I have had 1 post last for about 12 hours before being flagged and removed. I thought I had used incorrect language, so I looked at other posts that had been up for weeks, nope, most of the wording is similar. I reposted with no adoption/rehoming fees, flagged again. I posted without the breed being mentioned, flagged again. Posted with pictures, flagged. Posted without pictures, flagged again. I went to the local library to post the ad thinking my IP address was banned for some reason, flagged again. I cut and pasted an ad that had been up for three weeks, changed the age of the puppies and the sex, flagged again. I emailed Craigslist to ask WTF? no response.

My experience with Craigslist is great tool get leads on jobs gig and help access other leads for work

It's a shame because craigslist will not let you post about scammers that you've encountered, it's almost like they protect the scammers

I’m 69 I got to see the birth of craigslist they were really a cool bunch of people. I think they were located like on the West Coast somewhere really cool you could talk to him. Go push a button and send a message and get an almost and get an almost immediate reply. Let’s fast forward the 2026 and active Congress couldn’t get you in contact with him. They’re hiding , and almost at a 0.9 reviews. Obviously they don’t think there is no room for development much less concerned about their readership and . I’ve never seen a company achieve what they did in the beginning they were the first really social now they’re gonna be the first company that reaches zero point in reviews. It’s unbelievable in that a honest person can go on there and put an honest post up and it will get deleted by them it’s become a scammers perfect playground. now that is 100% fact that I have firsthand knowledge of. and I have 100% firsthand experience. I no longer even visit them even if I wanna buy something there really really bad they are my LAST choice. None of this is complicated. They fell pray to scammers, and they believe them above. The honest people that in return is obviously destroying them just look at their reviews. Enough said their brand their brand is low level. I bought as long as you can get. I truly don’t believe I visited a website that had reviews getting ready to go into the zero bracket what more needs to be said I’ve even used paid advertising. They took my money and deleted my ad. I was simply trying to sell a pickup truck. This is documented facts and where craigslist stand today they were doing a great thing and then they got manipulated by scammers which control that site now because they have the ear of CL, that is so sad. I really thought they were a bunch of smart people.They have self-destructed their brand by thinking that they were the ‘Almighty’ reality sink in now and it surely has to suck but they’re probably not even to think they’re really special now. And they actually are our scammers are desperately depending on their ignorance.Craigslist is gone even after they started charging for ads yeah they makes it make some money, but they are nowhere near what they were capable of doing they self-destructed and they continue to this very day by protecting scammers and punishing honest people that is their company policy now so craigslist, I watched you guys born. You were bigger than Life now you’re nothing zero you can’t even have a 1.0 review and if you don’t think that calls for a room for development, you’ll eventually just Disappear because everybody’s lost their trust in you just like me the honest consumer because craigslist is just a Haven for scammers that will flag on a post and it hijacked this site. Trust me there dozens of other side sides that craigslist never reached that bar really sad. It is really sad that they have destroyed themselves time we turn them to dust. We see it every day ✌️

I paid for an ad and they closed my account but kept my listings up. I tried sending an email to see if I would get it nope. The site is pretty toxic it is a shame.

My experience with Craigslist has been extremely disappointing. The way this company treats its customers is unacceptable, especially when it comes to account reviews, holds, and communication with their support team.

I had my account placed on hold, and when I contacted support, I received a generic response asking for company information, including a business name, address, phone number, and website. The problem is that I clearly explained that my posts were for work-from-home opportunities and computer-based gigs — not traditional employment.

My ads clearly stated that this was not a traditional job, that there were no 401(k) benefits, no employee benefits, and no employer-employee relationship. I was transparent in my descriptions and made every effort to follow the guidelines.

Even after explaining this, Craigslist support continued to question my posts instead of actually reviewing the information provided. It feels like they make assumptions and treat legitimate users unfairly without taking the time to understand the situation.

What makes this worse is that I was spending money on their platform — paying anywhere from $3 to $10 per post — and instead of receiving helpful customer support, I was treated like a problem. Customers who pay for their services deserve better communication, fairness, and a support team willing to actually investigate issues.

I also want to make it clear: I do not use Craigslist to post random ads or spam. I used the platform specifically to share work-from-home opportunities, and despite being transparent about what the opportunity was, my account was still questioned and restricted.

At this point, my opinion is that Craigslist has become a huge disappointment as a company and website. The support team is extremely poor, inconsistent, and appears to be biased in how they handle account reviews. They need to improve their customer service, provide clearer explanations, and treat paying users with more respect.

I would not recommend Craigslist to anyone looking for a reliable advertising platform until they fix their support system and their unfair account review process.

Tried three different times to post a harmless room available ad and it kept getting flagged for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. If Craigslist goal is to be a terrible company to work with, they have outdone themselves.

This is without a doubt the best site to be scammed on. Every worthless low life on here gets off scamming honest people who just want to try and sell things they don’t want or need to make some money but instead you receive fake emails, messages, scammers using the same messaging platforms over and over telling you their interested in whatever, they work for a company, are moving to your area and consider your items sold and will send a certified check. These are extremely sick mental “people”. They are not people. They are the lowest form of scum there is. And that goes for those at Craigslist. You are the lowest form of scum there is. They care nothing about people’s safety. They will not respond to your concerns. They should be taken down permanently to stop harming people.

Great site for scammers. Their legal and customer service departments don't seem to care about it either. I run an eBay store for a respectable retailer and someone stole our photos to create a listing for a "Free" item - but delivery would be arranged. Clearly a shipping scam. Crowd-sourcing is the only way to get a posting blocked or removed by flagging it. The scammer's post is for a Used Wilson Baiardo Stringing Machine out of Morganville, NJ. The real machine is listed on eBay (free shipping BTW). You can see from one of the photos on Craigslist that the person who listed on Craigslist used their phone on the eBay site because their cell service is Airtel Nigeria, and you can see the actual eBay listing. Again, if enough people "flag" the listing it will get taken down. Not sure what that magic number is though. Thanks to a great community of people, the scam was reported to us by so many. We are grateful for you!

I don't know why, but Craigslist no longer has a category for Boats for sale, or Boat Parts for sale. Craigslist is over for me.

The site is first policed by saboteurs. Then it is policed by the CL robot. The action taken is the other way around. Both are unmanageable and bad wrong! There is no recourse. Their help and help forums are of no use. My stuff is all legitimate by their publications and specs. My postings are serious and properly stated. Some times I have to give up on a posting because it gets knocked down even after 6 rewrites and leaving out pictures. Absurd. Very hard to use Cl even in full "compliance" with the jealous saboteurs lurking! Neither Jim nor Craig are able to 'help'. Seems my VPN makes it more difficult to use also. Very hard to change things in an account. Best make a new one and let the other expire. Another site by someone else posting the same thing the same way about the same time may not get blocked. If you can find a better way to move your stuff, let me know. There are scammers lurking here big time too. These can be dealt with easier than the saboteurs. Sincerely, 7 year CL user. CL was better. I have several eMail addresses...

If could I give it no stars , it trash I had made post after post and still got flagged and they say was guns when it wasn’t it was about helping taken in reptiles even they don’t email back as well it a joke

Craigslist is great if you want to get scammed. Absolutely perfect! No search function. No meaningful indexing. Nothing works as it should. I have no idea how the operators aren't living on the streets and addicted to drugs. Nothing meaningful has ever come from this company or the people who run this company. The very fact that they haven't shut down this website tells me that they're in kahoots with all the scammers who use it. If more than half of your clients or scammers, and you continue to do business, it's because you're the scammer.
