I arranged along with my parents to set up a trust in 2010. To me it seemed very complex and to be truthful I didn't really understand it or how it should work.
My father died 2 years later and I spent time learning what was involved and how it worked. Contact was good and all questions were answered.
In 2020 my mum passed and the experience was rather different. Possibly because I like many am elderly myself . I like to speak to someone, ask questions, judge people's attitudes, build a relationship with a person you feel you can trust.
Internet, portals, passwords, I'd companies endless back and forth messages. It's not the world I grew up in and I often miss emails or part of emails as apparently I should have scrolled down !
I've recently been allocated Daniel Humphriss. What a breath of fresh air.
Ask a question....get an answer.
Ask it this morning ....get an answer this afternoon. Having set out my grievances when I first had contact with him he assured me he was available by phone should I want to use that vintage piece of equipment but to be fair he has been on my case chasing me and guiding me through the process so nothing has slipped or been missed.

I found May to be a very professional and proficient person who was excellent to deal with at all times. This company has caused nothing but heartbreak and stress to an already bereft son. It is so hard to watch my husband ( who is very ill himself) try and wade through the minefield that is ‘The Countywide group’ .
When My mother-in-law passed away she really thought she had done the right thing by protecting her husband and sons. But sadly NO. The company will not discuss anything by phone unless they receive payment, I’m not talking a small payment either ! My father in law has dementia and is in a home, he has been assessed as being unable to deal with his financial obligations but even this is not acceptable by the company , even though this was done via an official channel, the company now want an assessment of his ability to handle the trust ! Erm …. Hello ? He is unable to name his sons, know what day it is let alone what he had for his dinner ! This company is causing nothing but distress, stress, heartache, headaches, to name but a few. I had to write this as I am so disgusted with the way my husband and his brother have been treated. This has been going on for two years and it’s just gone full circle. No closer to finding a resolution. We have a solicitor and even they are not getting anywhere. Please please please can the problems be dealt with so my husband and his brother can move on with their lives and care for their father. The last two years have been solely trying to talk to someone and where they , who are beneficiaries in the will, so they know how to move on with dealing with the trust.

This is despite proof he is unable to look after himself or his finances. We have had to pay a solicitor who hasn't had any luck either . All that is left is to pay for a private capability assessment and then pay the extortionate amount of money they want just for a facetime meeting. I am at my wits end.

So countrywide were the trust for my late fathers estate. Customer service absolutely appalling. Having to chase the case officer for answers. Ringing the office to be told sorry he`s on the other line he will contact you back then waiting days for the contact. Being charged for work already carried out by a solicitor.
I had to put a score on here but if I could I would have scored lower. Very distressing as well as having to deal with the deaths of both my mother and father.
Would I recommend I certainly would not. If you want to waste your money go with Countrywide or you could set lite to your cash and throw it in the street.
both myself and my sister feel completely let down by this company.
I work in a customer service role and if I did my job like these charlatans people would die.

Kiran Hiyare from trust department has been fantastic I needed clarity on trusts attached to our wills she fully explained the details and followed up we an e mail clarifying everything nothing too much trouble not enamoured with the company though have sent a number of e mails all of which had to be chased with phone calls as nobody got back to me Kiran was the only one who sorted the queries out can’t thank her enough

Countrywide were very professional and thorough obtaining Probate and administering what turned out to be a very complicated and rather messy estate. The whole team were great. Karen and George in particular were professional and very personable, showing endless patience throughout the process.

my late mother was going through a terminal cancer diagnosis when she was offered a trust package through Countywide in order to protect her assets should she eventually need to go into a care provision and as such a number of trusts were set up with countrywide, both living trust and also in her passing.
The products sold, have been confirmed by multiple solicitors and financial advisors to be very "questionable" in their legality and validity.
The result of the trust being sold to her is 9 months of continuing difficulty in trying to dissolve the trust and remove countrywide from her estate.
Her home was conveyed into Countrywide's name, leaving it locked into them and being unable to be sold on. her assets have been frozen for months leaving us in a difficult position having to pay endless fees for documents to be signed and drafted, despite the initial costs and fees in setting up the trusts in the first place.
despite passing over 9 months ago, we still have not been able to settle my mothers estate due to Countrywide's extremely poor communication, inaction and quite frankly appalling practices.
The overall experience has been nothing short of exhausting.
Countrywide have preyed upon my late mother and sold her products that she didn't need and will charge the survivors every step of the way in resolving the issue.
Expect copious fees and awful communication with this company and avoid at all costs, this is a business trying to take your money and charge you every step of the way, they are not trying to help you.

This review is on my probate process & it’s a huge shout out & gratitude of thanks to George Mathison who had a unique challenge of doing Probate for not only my late Mother but also my late Brother as they died within 5 days of one another sadly. I was recommended to use countrywide who would be more upto speed than the bank designated in my Mothers Will..so we went about the change & was successful & George got cracking once he’d recieved voluminous documents from myself on my two family members. George was extremely efficient in sorting our both probates swiftly & as quickly as possible. What I particularly like is the prompt responses as nothing was delayed from his end. Probate processes are always like a rocky road & drawn out but when you are kept informed regularly & asked for extra information, this helped smooth things out. My late brothers probate was straight forward & finished pretty quickly. My Late Mother not so as she had a house that needed selling so eventually late last year this was completed successfully & Probate closed out this month. George & his Team were excellent & went the extra mile in getting things done & moving & if anyone goes through Probate I’d highly recommend getting George to do it as he’s an asset to Countrywide. He was very much aware of my unique situation & the emotional roller coaster I would on but he was extremely professional & let me do a lot of the early requests at my own pace. You just can’t go wrong with George on your side. Fabulous work.

I have had not so good dealings with CW over the years but they are getting much better. As POA we've recently been in contact CW again & have been lucky enough to have Daniel Humphriss deal with our case. He has been friendly, understanding & very efficient from the start. I am not well versed in the area of Trusts and Wills but Hadir provided me with a clear understanding of the situation in particular, Section 144 and the effects of back reading
