Problems unresolved
They were great up untill we arrived at the property and found the kitchen oven and hob uncleaned, 6 out of the 8 dinning room light bulbs not working and the sheets in the childrens room unchanged. Having made them aware we assumed the problems would be corrected and we could just get on with our holiday. Not so. This was a £2500 luxury family property. I would never ever hire a property with them again.

We had a great family break staying at…
We had a great family break staying at Victoria cottage in Croyde. Choice cottages left some wonderful seasonal welcome gifts for us which was a lovely touch. The cottage was extremely well looked after, comfortable, clean and very cosy. The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever come across in a holiday cottage, so we had some great family meals during our stay. The location of the cottage is perfect, close to pubs, restaurants, the beach and coastal walks. And the information provided by Choice cottages and their communication was excellent! We had a great time, thank you!

This is the third or fourth time we've used Choice Cottages, this time though an AirBnb listing. Communication was prompt, clear and friendly, and the house had gorgeous views and was good value (Ranch Chalet in Croyde). And Choice Cottages allowed us to move our booking due to a family member having Covid – much appreciated. We won't hesitate to use Choice Cottages again.

Whitehaven, Georgeham
Our holiday at Whitehaven, Georgeham was lovely. Beautiful cottage, well equipped, very comfortable and welcoming. Dog friendly, with a secure rear garden and handy stairgates to keep 'explorers' in check! Nothing to fault, at all. Great village, two good pubs, small shop for basics and a very friendly feel. Nice and close to Putsborough / Croyde beaches.

We had a lovely time.the bungalow was beautiful very clean lovely quiet location plenty off shops to look round in the village and pubs . Would recommend this place to anyone the pool table was a bonus lovely hot tub to relax.lovely welcome with scones with jam and cream and a lovely bottle off bubble.

Whitehaven is a beautiful getaway…
Whitehaven is a beautiful getaway property, decorated & furnished to a very high standard. Georgeham is a very quiet village with two really good pubs (King's Arms & The Rock Inn) both pet friendly with great menus, the bright lights of Croyde are only a short drive away. If you are looking for a "chill out" break then Whitehaven is the property for you.

A Devon delight!
We've just had a fabulous break in Devon staying at Snowdrop Cottage, Bishop's Tawton near Barnstaple. The property exceeded our expectations and was extremely clean, comfortable, and in a beautiful quiet position. The owners had thought of every need a guest may have and some they didn't know they needed!
The bonus for us was a fabulous Hot Tub. Be sure to pay the extra to include it in your booking as it's worth every penny.
The property was perfectly situated and a short drive from fabulous amenities & attractions. We especially loved our visit to Keypitts Outdoor Activity centre and had a great morning Quad Biking and getting muddy (if you visit take a change of clothes). We were within easy reach by Car of the beautiful Devon Coast and took in Ilfracombe, Coombe Martin, Lynton/Lynemouth, Westward Ho, Croyde and many other places.
We will definitely be going back!!

We loved our stay at Whitehaven
We loved our stay at Whitehaven. Such a peaceful location, and the house is so well equipped. So many things we loved:
Off road parking
Great views from upstairs
Peaceful and well equipped garden
Well equipped kitchen
Lots of space for 5 of us
Great location, easy to get to beaches and great pubs
We will definitely book again!
NB we had an issue with the electric and the property manager dealt with it very quickly and efficiently, particularly considering it was a Sunday morning.

Croyde Scilla Verna. We have visited Croyde many times but…
We have visited Croyde many times but thought our accommodation on this occasion was superb and suited all family needs. Also loved the hot tub in the evenings and found the outside hot shower so useful especially after surfing. Enjoyed local good food at the Manor and the blue groove and of course the an ice cream from Croyde ice cream shop.

A good holiday home
A good holiday home, well equipped and very clean and tidy. Not overlooked, but at times some road noise. Didn't have a recycling bin to start with, but consierge very good. Could do with some more garden furniture and a parasol, but overall the house worked well and we had a great week.

Beacon View Delight.
The administration of our Beacon View booking was faultless and Beacon View was immaculate and comfortable as always. The very hot weather was a bonus although it made the glass conservatory unusable during the day. Braunton is a delight and North Devon is glorious. Two niggles: We couldn't get the washing machine to work and I would recommend that the owner/agent makes it clear (in advance) under what circumstances they plan to visit the property during a tenancy.

Awful service from Choice Cottages
I was also a guest at Poyers Farm last week and had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with Choice Cottages - Ninette in particular who is one of the owners!! She was rude, would not reply to our emails or speak to us when she came to the cottage (we were waiting for her to arrive to speak to her). We went to their office to try to resolve and she would only speak to us outside which is the strangest behaviour ever! I did thankfully record our meeting on my phone and also have pictures and an email of everything we complained about (I have updated pics on the cottage review and will happily upload the video to YouTube and add the link) so people can see what awful service they provide and then lie about! I really do not know how they are still in business…..

We had to write a warning email the day before their departure following them threatening the Service delivery team-see copy below: Dave Hopps and Sara Chiswell, We have seen your text message to the property manager and the cleaners threatening: not to vacate in the morning. We think you should know that your complaints have to be dealt with by airbnb as they are the agent you booked through. Neither we, the property manager nor the cleaners can resolve your issues. I am sure you appreciate that every attempt was made to deal with them promptly. Further, failing to vacate will not only lead to disruption of someone else's holiday, and the housekeepers being able to deliver their booked services, which would be unkind and pointless, and will lead to the police being called to you and a confrontation which we are sure you do not want. We have notified airbnb of your threat not to vacate. Meanwhile, we would be grateful if you would remain sensible and reasonable in the way you conduct yourselves and not cause distress or harm to those who are in no position to resolve your problems. Sincerely Choice Customer Services Team We have reported Dave to Airbnb as abusive and hostile guests and a guest who has violated community standards by 1) threatening not to vacate at the departure time and therefore disrupt the delivery services and the arrival time for the following guest. 2) by harassing the staff in the local booking agency office 3) by not abiding to the 'terms and conditions' nor following the correct protocols and procedures as outlined in the contract. Airbnb responded Thanks for taking the time to let us know what’s going on. Your safety is our priority. We don’t tolerate abusive or hostile behaviour. If we determine that this person has violated our community standards, we’ll take action. For the record - the 2 main issues they were complaining about was 1) the hot tub was faulty - they were offered a full refund for the hot tub. 2) there were bees coming down the chimney - a person went to the property promptly and established a) the bees were the non-stinging type. Stingless bees, sometimes called stingless honey bees or simply meliponines. Meliponines have stingers, but they are highly reduced and cannot be used for defense, though these bees exhibit other defensive behaviors and mechanisms. Meliponines are not the only type of "stingless" bee; all male bees and many female bees of several other families, such as Andrenidae, also cannot sting. These bees can appear any time, anywhere, and thus force majeure.

Stayed at Poyers Farm in Devon for one…
Stayed at Poyers Farm in Devon for one week of hell. New born baby and a house full of bees. Choice Cottages were uncooperative, ignorant and rude. The owner Ninette Quinn was meant to meet us at 10am on our last day to discuss after ignoring our concerns but she just came in and videoed us sat in the garden waiting for her then walked out. The hot tub did not work all week and we reported it every day along with the bee problem and either got ignored or fobbed off. One bathroom upstairs. One en-suite downstairs that you cannot use as no seals and floods the room. One shower off the kitchen to use before going into the hot tub - advertised as a three bathroom house! You cannot use the cooker as wood louse fall out of extractor fan into your food every few seconds. Nearly £4000 totally wasted. Holiday from hell
EDIT following Choice Cottages reply can I just say that we have videos of every encounter to show we where nothing but polite, we have emails and texts of all correspondence and taped every call as we could tell by their rudeness and lies that they would try to turn everything around. We will be turning it all over to the correct authorities to take further

Fantastic cottage and a scenic location, just keep your fingers crossed you get considerate neighbours
The Saunton Sunshine Cottage was beautifully renovated and the location great for golf and beaches in the area. However be warned that the adjoining property has a capacity for 17 people.
The first six days were peaceful - as you would expect in a cottage/location like this. Unfortunately on the last night the adjoining house was populated by a very drunk and noisy group. With hindsight I felt lucky we only had one night of disturbed sleep. Personally I wouldn't risk renting the property again despite the positives.

We have just returned from a week stay and we had a wonderful time. The accommodation was excellent, with great facilities. had great support from the property manager who responded really quickly to a couple of minor queries we had. Overall, excellent value for money.

Very rude when spoke to on the phone…
Very rude when spoke to on the phone because the property was too small for our party!! Lied on review about us saying property was damaged when it was not! Also said I was rude to the property owner which again was a lie! I actually had a nice conversation with him and realised we were from the Same place!! Booked a different property to fit our party at extra cost and the electric tripped! When we eventually found the fuseboard it kept tripping every hour! Tried ringing choice cottages but got no answer all weekend! Never book with this agency again terrible customer service!! 👎
Looks like I’m not the only one that’s had a bad experience with this company! Just look nearly half of reviews are 1 star!! Don’t be fooled people! This company had more than £2500 out of me for a 2 nights stay and didn’t seem to want to resolve our problem just take our money! Stay away!! 👎👎

This guest lied on their booking form placed through Airbnb. They stated 2 parties would be attending the holiday, when in fact they arrived with 9 people initially.
Had they put the correct party size when booking, they would have immediately seen that the property sleeps 6. Furthermore, the property description clearly states that each room can be made up as a twin OR a double, not both in each room. Again, if they had searched using the correct party size, the proprty would not even have come up in their search. Initially they were confrontational with the owner, who lives next door, but latter told the owner they were sorry and had made a mistake. We then accommodated the balance of their party at another of our properties, which the guests then proceeded to trash and cost the owner hours of extra cleaning time. The property they booked initially has had hundreds of guests and 5* reviews on all the relevant affiliate sites. This is the first guest we have had a problem with. We will not be having this guest back to any of our properties.
