Not what i was looking for
I arrive at 4.30 to be guided in through the phone contact to be met at the door by a cleaner saying the room wasn’t ready a hour and a half after the 3pm check in time . After leaving and returning at 6 was finally able to enter my room and greeted by a dishwasher full of dirty dishes , floor wet around fridge and a broken glass hob . I had a fault in the boiler which constantly beeped all the time , which was sorted the day after .Then you have to make a £100 damage deposit which is supposed to be returned to you when you leave ? I had it take twice on the 25th and then the 26th May both for £100 , still no refund . I have email company but no reply

Arriving to find the apartment still being cleaned well past the 3pm check‑in time, and then entering to dirty dishes, a wet floor and a damaged hob, is unacceptable. The boiler fault and the delay in resolving it added further inconvenience, and this is not the standard we aim to deliver.
Regarding the £100 deposit, this is a pre‑authorisation, not a physical charge. It may appear on your bank statement as a pending transaction, but it should automatically release after departure. If you are seeing it as a completed debit rather than a pending hold, please reach out to our care team so they can investigate and assist.
I’m also sorry you haven’t received a reply to your email yet — we will ensure this is followed up. Thank you for bringing all of this to our attention.
Beautiful apartments, but with serious cleanliness issues
My stay at Charles Hope Apartments was a bit of a mixed experience. On one hand, the apartments are very beautiful, modern, and comfortable. However, the standard of cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and completely spoils the experience. Upon arrival, I encountered several noticeable issues: the living room lamp has clearly not been cleaned for a long time, as a spider has made its home there and is now a permanent tenant. In addition, the wardrobe shelves were dirty, the kitchen floor was sticky, and the fridge gave off a very bad smell when opening the door. Furthermore, as a suggestion for improvement, it would be highly recommended to install a better system to block out the light coming through the windows. The current curtains do not help in the slightest and make it difficult to rest in the morning. This accommodation has a lot of potential, but they urgently need to improve their housekeeping and maintenance.

The issues you described — the lamp not being cleaned, a spider present, dirty wardrobe shelves, a sticky kitchen floor and an unpleasant smell from the fridge — are unacceptable and should have been picked up during our housekeeping checks. We will be reviewing this with the team urgently.

The self check in instructions were not correct for the flat luckily I arrived during office hours I called and someone was able to help but would have no way of accessing the flat had it not of been as the instructions were totally wrong

Also we ask at time of booking for a parking slot (which was advertised and recommended) the reservation itself was not available when we arrived. Very unfortunate.

I’m also sorry check‑in was more difficult than it should have been. Clear, accurate arrival instructions are essential, and we will ensure these are improved.
Regarding parking, I understand how frustrating it was to request a space at the time of booking — especially when it was advertised — only to find it unavailable on arrival. This should not happen, and we will be reviewing our parking allocation process to prevent future disappointment.

Serious issue with security and poor communication
I am writing to formally raise a serious complaint about my recent stay with this property.
Upon arrival, there were already other guests (a couple and a baby) inside the apartment we had booked and which had clearly been used. The apartment was not prepared for our arrival and contained used bedding, which was unacceptable.
The guests explained they had entered because the apartment door had been left open, which raises very serious concerns regarding the property’s security and access control procedures.
We were left in a highly stressful situation late at night with no suitable alternative accommodation available, as the property was fully booked. Although the overnight staff member tried to assist, the only solution offered was partial replacement bedding, and we were asked to collect additional bedding ourselves from another room.
We barely slept that night due to the disruption and stress. We were also hosting international guests, which made the situation particularly embarrassing and difficult to manage.
I raised a formal complaint at the time and was informed it would be escalated to management. However, more than a week later, I have still received no update, response, or resolution.
This lack of communication and follow-up, combined with the severity of what occurred, is extremely concerning.

The situation you were left in late at night — with no alternative accommodation available and only partial bedding offered — was unacceptable, and I understand how stressful and embarrassing this was, particularly with international visitors.
I also apologise that your formal complaint has not been responded to. This lack of follow‑up is not the level of service we aim to provide. I will ensure this is escalated immediately and that you receive a proper resolution.

Too hot in the apartment
Too hot in the apartment especially the bathroom. Bathroom Heater was running all the time. Even too hot in the apartment. Called the guy but he couldn’t fix the ac problem. Further, the check in instructions were not emailed before hand, for which we had to sit in the lobby for more than half an hour. Other than that the apartment was nice.

As a note, our apartments do not have air conditioning, but the bathroom heater should not operate constantly — we’ll have maintenance review this.
I also apologise that your check‑in instructions were not emailed in advance, leaving you waiting in the lobby for over half an hour. This should not happen, and we will address this with the team.

A couple of issues but good overall.
We weren’t sent to pin to open the key box and were waiting at the property for half an hour to receive this. The apartment was lovely though - clean, spacious and met our needs. There was some left over takeaway in the oven though, from previous guests. Some pizza and chicken bones. My bedside lamp didn’t work and one of the toilet seats was broken. I think the coffee pods provided weren’t compatible with the machine.

Not receiving the key box PIN in advance and having to wait at the property for half an hour is unacceptable, and we will review our communication process to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
I also apologise for the leftover food in the oven — this should never be missed during housekeeping checks. The broken bedside lamp, faulty toilet seat and incompatible coffee pods are equally disappointing, and we will address these with our maintenance and housekeeping teams.

We got put in one room and there was hairs all over the bed sofa was dirty. Then we got moved to another which was worse hairs in the bed stuff all over the floor microwave smell like rotten food the cooker was dirty food on the sofa and chair

The complex itself was modern and…
The complex itself was modern and fresh. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The chairs though for the kitchen were not safe with screws all lose and 1 chair broken of which I fixed myself. Had to tighten all other chairs as it was the same. The kitchen had modern white goods and oven etc.
The mod hub itself was great and the gym thought I didn't use looked great.
Only issue was the train line behind the apartment, noisy after 10pm and just after 6am. Entry system to access the apartment needs to improve prior to check in, waiting around 15mins which children is not cool.
I would look to use in the future as its a good location in Brighton.

Lengthy check in.
Hard to find with all the building works.
Table on balcony needs replacing as was not stable. Put anything on and it would fly off.
TV could not get any Chanel’s as aerial not connected??
