Not quite functionally useless
Not quite functionally useless, but very close! Took months to get installed with endless chasing and considerably more additional expenditure than the grant itself.
After install, it took two weeks for the app to become functional after many calls and emails to BP.
The app itself is indeed pretty much functionally useless. The app constantly locks out and logging in compared to so many other apps is an epic task. I don’t know who BP commissioned to set up the infrastructure because they must have wasted millions on something others have achieved with aplomb.
In six months, nothing has improved! No app updates, charger updates etc.
From an organisation of the might of BP, what a shambles!!
Use consumer rights to have it removed and refunded
Honestly, this is NOT a smart charger.
The app does not work.
The schedules don't work- it will charge randomly at peak rates and not charge at all if it can't be bothered.
You can call them but you get to speak to someone who passes it to the 'Customer Care Team' who, themselves are not reachable, so you get passed from pillar to post and NOTHING gets done.
The is SO bad, from a company like BP???
AND shame on all the car companies who recommend them as their 'charging partner'.

Shocking! Keep well clear of this company, if you need any help from them your on your own, the customer service is non existant, if your lucky enough to get through to them be prepared for non existant customer service, I'll trained, couldn't care less attitude, they do not respond to emails either, customer service are outsourced somewhere far away in another place, there is no way your customer service is the voice of a big company like BP, if any BP director reads this review then you need to do something about it, your putting lots of people off using your products & services, customer service is the backbone any company, I won't be using your services again after what I've been through with BP pulse, and I wish I'd read the messages on here before, lesson learned, AVOID!
BP chargemaster home charger packed up
BP chargemaster home charger packed up. It is only 10 months old. Worse still, when I phoned up customer services, they say it could be 2 weeks before they even come out to have a look, and a further unspecified number of weeks before it could be repaired or replaced.

I bought an electric vehicle on 4 May and I am still waiting for BP Pulse to install the charger. It was the free option that came with the car dealer. The customer service advisers are hopeless and do not know what they are doing. No contact now for 16 days blaming it on the sub contractor. I am getting no response on the contact apps. I would suggest using someone else.
One of the worst experiences ever
One of the worst experiences ever, never respond, never update you, months have passed and nothing ever happens, total joke, avoid and go with anyone else, these guys are terrible
Absolute and total jokers
Absolute and total jokers. Taken more than one and a half years to get a charge point installed. Yes, still not installed. Will update review if they ever bother installing. Guess they make more money from petrol. No interest in supporting customers.
Polar changing to bp chargemaster the biggest mistake.
Ever since polar changed to bp chargemaster the service has been horrendous. They never answer the phone, my charger always gets stuck in the units as the app doesn’t work well and they never pick the phone to help you. I have emailed many times and never received a response all the while they are charging me monthly subscription. Bp chargemaster taking over polar was the biggest mistake. I never had these problems before and could get customer service on the phone within 5 mins.

They even replaced the ones at Willen lake at Milton Keynes (just down the road from their office) that worked great with two that don't work, great progress.
Mixed experiences
Home charger installed by their predecessors: has worked perfectly for 5 years.
On the road charging poor. First charger out of action, but got through to phone helpline and connected for successful charge.
Second charger worked OK.
3rd charger non-functional, phone calls not answered.
Possibly better than ecotricity, but much worse than instavolt.
Glad I took up the PAYG option, no subscription fee.
The worst customer service I’ve ever known!!
I cannot believe how bad this company and service is!!! Access to ev points with incorrect codes- waiting on the phone for over an hour and still no one picked up- emailed on the 7th June to complain they’ve taken money from my credit account without a charge happening, trying to get someone to call me is impossible, I could go on. If this is the future for EV drivers - god help us! I love my car and made the right choice - but STAY CLEAR OF BP PULSE- once my credit is back in my account that’s me done!
Zero stars would be more appropriate
Zero stars would be more appropriate. Lengthy waits on support line with calls regularly dropping off unanswered, reference numbers given but no action after weeks, poor value for money and extremely poor customer service. Some people I know have given up trying to access their workplace scheme due to delays in processing on BP's end, I wouldn't choose the car I have if I'd have known charging it at work would be so difficult/expensive. My kingdom for a weatherproof 13a plug!
Terrible customer experience!
Card took over two weeks to get here. Have requested that they add my workplace chargers to my account so that I can charge. 3 weeks later still not added even with multiple chase ups. Shame I’m tied to use them as it’s what is at my work. Reading the rest of the reviews I will probably avoid using bp chargers on the road too now.
Also they don’t answer their customer phone line.
We had a tethered home charging unit…
We had a tethered home charging unit installed last July. All things went to plan. Last month we decided to buy a 2nd EV and asked a local OLEV qualified electrician to come and give us a quite for a 2nd charger. Yesterday he turned up and was horrified. The installation broke numerous regulstions and more seriously, I was told by the electrician that I could have received a fatal shock due to improper earthing. He switched the unit off there and then an advised me not to use it until the faults were rectified. I’ve tried to get through to someone at BP 3 times this morning, but I keep getting jerked off. I’ve given them until 5pm to call me or I’ll just get the faults rectified at my own expense and report them to the NIE.

DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE OR DEAL WITH BP PULSE! Bought one off them last year and all fine. needed a new mounting plate (expecting a bill for a nominal fee) and was told that they can only replace the whole unit. This is after me calling and emailing them over weeks. Complete rip off outfit.
Cable was stuck
Our Cable was stuck, as was another Kia one left behind in Marlow, tried ringing customer service no answer, tried different call options cut off. What you need to know!! Got to stop the charge on the app & wait for lights to go blue before will release! Should mention on their FAQ website!?!
Truly Appalling company
Truly Appalling company. Obviously not herd of customer service as there is none. Ordered in March arrived April 19th they put the charger on the wall and left said would be back soon to finish. As of today June 15th still not been back, no reply to emails, managed to speak to someone on the phone who said they are very busy and would be in touch soon. Not holding my breath. They obviously have taken on more than they can do and should either turn down the work or contract it out. I am going to get a local electrician to finish the job. I have heard good things about podpoint from friends so I would try them and avoid BP like the plague.

I would give zero if I could appalling company spent months trying to get my free charger installed constantly ignore emails or send automated response if your lucky
Finally start getting somewhere and they try to charge me full install cost plus charge for extras I need .(it’s a brand new house)
If you do actually get to talk to anyone they are rude and no help whatsoever.
I had a similar experience trying to deal with them in 2017 so they can’t use there COVID excuse
I got fed up and paid for a pod point install
Fast response at each stage and from start of process to install day was less than 3 weeks .
The pod point is a much better unit to boot
In summary I’d avoid BP Chargemaster at all costs

What a dreadful company! Customer Services will either make promises to pass on your query to someone (which they don’t) or cut you off in the middle of a conversation. Emails receive automated responses then nothing. The process for complaints is non existent. They take the fee for a survey then fail to follow through with the installation. This company should be avoided at all costs.
Total Disaster
Where do you start, lucky if you find a charger that works and cannot speak to anyone via the phone or email. Avoid at all costs.
