I needed a taste of home for my Sri Lankan friends birthday , when original product wasn't available , they sent a lovely tasty replacement , which arrived next day . A very happy customer and friend who loved the gift .

Kawum cooked in rancid oil
Order CSM3-3014306. Ordered 3 packs of mung kawum DPD UK #15504652539753. along with other sweets for the new year. Unfortunately the mung kawum in 2 packs had the taste of rancid oil. The expiry date is 30/04/2025. They were vaccume sealed and i opened them on 14/04/2025. It was embarrassing to have had people to taste them.
I have been ordering Awrudu Kawum for years and never faced such a problem. This is not a good customer experience. Really disappointed.
This is the degrotary response I received from Ceylon Supermart.

Sorry theucneed to be micro waved or steamed before use happy to refund all oiled fried sweets has to micro or steam common sense unlike Colombo in UK oil freez we can give you a refund but ypubdidnt do the correct process. We also sad".

I have enough "COMMON SENSE " to heat the Kawum in the microwave with a lid on so as not to dry out the Kawum before eating.
Your lack of accountability is shocking trying to pass the blame to the customer by making assumptions. I have been a loyal customer since 2021. Have your attitude in check. Otherwise you are going to loose more loyal customers.

If I could give no stars I would
I wish I could give no stars. I purchased a Love Cake. First of all, I had to chase up when it would be delivered. When it eventually did arrive, it was stale, dry and inedible. A total waste of money and a complete rip off. I’ll steer clear of the Ceylon Supermarket in future and recommend that you do too.

Super lamprais
Super lamprais. Delivered on time. A couple comments though...the rice needs to be done in a more fatty stock and tge mutton curry was very dry. Apart from that it was delicious !
