Perfect little car for the tiniest roads in Scotland
We rented the car at Arnold Clark in Stirling, and it was a Renault 2008 and brand new. We drove to Thurso, the Orkney Islands, the outer and inner Hebrides and around the Highlands. It was easy to drive and we are satisfied with the experience.
We would have thought that a brand new car would have backing assistence for parking or backing on the one-line roads, but that was the only thing we really missed.
We highly recommend Celtic Legend.

We were welcomed on arrival and on return by very friendly, attentive and highly professional staff in clean, comfortable offices, with unlimited water and coffee; we were even each given small bottles of water to take with us on the road.
A very comfortable and clean car with barely 6,000 kilometres on the clock.
I highly recommend your services and look forward to seeing you again next year :-)

Good car rental experience in Scotland
Celtic Legend provided us a great rental car. They arranged for Arnold Clark to meet us at the Inverness Airport. Quick and easy pick up of our car. The Hyundai Tucson was comfortable and had the added benefit of being hybrid so the gas mileage was nearly 50 mpg. We had to change our rental plans and were able to work with Arnold Clark to adjust the plans. The only problem we encountered was that we intended to return the car in Edinburgh but arrived at the Arnold Clark office in Edinburgh at 5:35 PM and they had closed at 5:30 PM. We had called and asked if they could delay closing for us but the answer was no. We decided to keep the car as we had intended to pick up another car 2 days later. Arnold Clark was able to arrange for us to keep the car, adjusted our reservation and even refunded the one way rental fee. Other than our request to return the car a few minutes late, the Arnold Clark staff were very friendly and helpful. I also appreciated that Celtic Legend offered the online driving course Tripiamo. The course was very helpful in preparing to drive on the left and to be familiar with the roads, laws and highway signage.

Great Car and Service no complaints at all.
My only comment is we were not informed the car had an automatic "on/off switch" and it cut out on the very busy exit roudabout we had driven 500m if that! Very unnerving to say the least.
For the rest perfect. We enjoyed our vacation!

We’re sorry about the little scare at the roundabout! We completely understand how unnerving it must have been for the car to appear to cut out after only 500 metres, especially when you’re already navigating a busy road. The automatic stop/start system is designed to switch the engine off when the car is stationary and restart it automatically when you’re ready to move, but we appreciate that it can be quite a surprise if you haven’t encountered it before.
Thank you for pointing this out. We’ll certainly keep it in mind when explaining the cars to future customers, as a quick mention of the system could save someone else a similar moment of panic! 😊

Seamless rental experience
They were helpful, responded quickly to questions, and gave good advice on the best rental for our purposes. The pick up from the airport went very smoothly and quickly (just call the number they provide instead of looking for the courtesy phone - we never did find it). The Drive on the Left wrist bands are a fun touch!

Excellent service
I wanted to thank the Celtic Legend car rental team for their support and guidance through the booking process. Kudos to the team for being very responsive! All went smoothly and I was glad I went with this option. And the rate was also slightly better than direct booking, which was a cherry on top. It's great that independent retailers still exist in this line of work, as I always like supporting local business.

🚕 From Station Snafu to Celtic Smooth: Arnold Clark Restored My Faith in Car Hire!
Celtic Legend and Arnold Clarke were pretty attentive throughout the process. Apart from a hitch!
Good to know the following...
When I was unable to call the pick up car, though my phone was ringing (make sure you have a genuine UK phone in Scotland); they didn't answer phone when supposed to pick me up at Glasgow Station - in the end we took a taxi. However, taxi dropped me off at Showroom Not Car Hire - staff at showroom sorted everything out, was re-picked up - taxi fee was reimbursed - Moral of the story if technology fails: 1 hail a cab. 2.Tell cab to wait to confirm correct drop-off. 3 Keep the taxi receipt.
Arnold Clarke were very kind in immediately reimbursing the taxi. We were now 90 mins late BUT from then on everything was super relaxed, easygoing and the drop off was a cursory yep car is fine (after a Green Motion debarkle one month ago in Luton and a long, depressingly lost, FIGHT - Arnold Clarke were a dream: restored my faith in car hire!
Overall, thank you Arnold Clarke - pick up the phone next time, please! (maybe it was our Spanish cellphones - I blame BREXSHIT roaming probs)

It certainly sounds like technology, phones and a few different locations all decided to make things more complicated than they needed to be! 😄 We’ll pass your feedback on regarding the pickup call, as we appreciate that being left waiting when you’re expecting a collection isn’t ideal.
We’re glad, though, that once the initial confusion was sorted, the team were able to get you on your way, reimburse the taxi and make the rest of the rental nice and straightforward. And thank you for keeping hold of that taxi receipt... excellent advice!

Wonderful Trip Through Scotland!
The email with directions on where to go and how to call were very straightforward.
We were picked up by the shuttle and taken straight to the car park.
Getting the car was a breeze and everything was reviewed with us by the agent prior to leaving.
The car was easy to drive and a smooth ride. We explored Inverness, Fort William and back to Edinburgh.
We were thrilled we only had to fill up once!
