However we thank you for taking the time for doing this as it’ll hopefully make future customers aware of what they need to do to avoid potential additional costs that may be incurred from internet based commercial catering equipment suppliers.
CHS Ltd aims to offer the lowest prices with quick professional telephone support, we’re constantly checking competitor’s prices, so you don’t have to thereby ensuring you get commercial quality products for the best prices! Like our competitors we are a business-to-business website and consumer rights do not apply as you are trading under business terms. We hold stock of a number of items but also ship from manufacturers and importers whom themselves and their delivery companies will pass any costs caused by our customer’s error back to us. To provide you the best possible price, we cannot absorb any additional charges passed on to us; to remain the cheapest if the error is due to our customers, we have no alternative but to pass these costs back. Understandably some people are unaware of business trading and can get frustrated even though we are very transparent with our terms. To avoid these issues arising on purchasing we send emails highlighting the points where additional charges can be incurred. We offer good customer service but work within the boundaries below, please be aware of the following areas where additional costs can be incurred.
1) Aborted deliveries for large items like fridges and ovens; please ensure you’re there for the delivery and a large lorry can get to your premises.

This is refunded in full when the manufacturer confirms the repairs were undertaken under warranty.
3) Most companies require damage in-transit to be reported within 24 hours. To help support your situation please take plenty of photographs of the damaged box with the delivery driver, if possible. Sign the note as damaged if you accept it.
4) With re-stocking we do not cover the return postage and will not pay for your re-stocking fees if
imposed by the manufacturers or importer.
5) If you have a back to base warranty you’ll need to cover the postage and we will act as the messenger between yourselves and the manufacturer. They may not cover misuse like scale in a water boiler when a filter should have been used.
6) Some manufacturers may not accept back any item that has been used or is not in the original packaging.
The points above can understandably be contentious for people unaware of standard business terms and we’re pleased to make customers aware of these situations to minimise them occurring in future. We are a fair company who’ll not change our terms for customers who are abusive, repetitive or threaten to post public reviews. If you want the best prices in the industry and great customer service whilst working within these boundaries we are a great company to trade with. When shopping elsewhere within our industry please be aware all our competitors have very similar terms.

Avoid item 4 months old and has faulty door. They have asked for £250 plus vat to send someone. No support and no help, if we don’t deem our faulty you don’t get deposit back. What is the point in this 2 year manufacture warranty

No stock? Sell it anyway.
I ordered an Nemox 6k Crea ice cream machine from CHS after its price dropped by £500. It was already one of the cheapest prices around, and this was an excellent deal. It was listed on 'Pre-Order' with a lead time of 2 weeks (I phoned to confirm this). After paying nearly £4k for the machine, I waited for shipping confirmation. Instead, the next day I received an email saying their supplier was out of stock and they would not know when they would be resupplied, so they would refund my money.
The 2 stars are for the quick reply from their customer service (essentially just telling me they'll double-check, and yes, it was not available) and for the fact they told me within 24 hours of ordering that there was a problem. However, the machine is still listed (with the original higher price) on their website under 'Pre-order', and I am certain they would take other customers' money even now despite knowing it would just need to be refunded. Also, because they have put the price back up I am unlikely to have any luck getting a price match from one of their competitors.
If you have no stock (and no potential for more), remove the listing or list it as such. By taking my money I am now delayed in finding another supplier while I wait for the refund to process. I am scaling up my small business and CHS may have lost a customer looking for a fair amount of kit in the near future, and I would recommend caution ordering from them if there is any uncertainty with stock.

You placed the order on Sunday and unfortunately we had to contact you on our next working day to inform you that the item was now out of stock with our current wholesaler and unable to continue sourcing this product.
We arranged a full refund while we searched for an alternative supplier.

Hi. I ordered of catering hygiene a few times. Got a double cuppone pizza oven from these guys. Price was cheap and service was great. I always check prices if catering stuff with these guys..Customer service I found was very good.
Hint: there BUFFALO products are very reasonable priced...

I have placed a handful or orders with CHS over the last year or so and am pleased to say that the correct things have always arrived at a great price, at the right place, on the promised day, with no issues, other than a call from them once to verify that I did mean to order one of the items with the apparently strange options I had chosen! I note that we reacted swiftly to inform you and your refund was actioned straight away. Unfortunately there can be a small delay before it shows back up in your account.
Along with other distributors of catering equipment it is normal practice for items to be shipped direct from the manufacturer and we aim to keep our "in stock" product information as updated as possible.

I got refrigerated from they're. first day we are find is can't keep cold. call customer service they're said no they can't control. you are no lucky. just like got one second hand. that is mean had warranty. funny. will repair it. but we are waiting a week no anyone coming or ring back.

This site was attended and the engineer has requested a new temp probe for the unit, which was out of stock until yesterday.
A new probe will be sent out today, and the engineer will return and fit asap.
30/11/20 We have tried calling you but your mobile doesn't answer. We are working with the manufacturer to get an engineer to rectify this for you straight away and avoid any further inconvenience..
Disgusting company - take the time to read this review
I don’t even know where to start with how bad these are but PLEASE PLEASE AVOID!
1) we purchase an ice machine from them with an agreed date of delivery. No delivery, no contact! Eventually reply to our email blaming the manufacturer (despite manufacturer saying they have plenty of stock)
2) polar ice machine arrives - used 4 times and suddenly isn’t making ice
3) contact company who say that we have to pay nearly the same cost as the ice machine for them to carry out the warranty! They tell us if they deem it not to be our fault then they will return this!
4) we contact polar direct who don’t do this, don’t charge this to either customers or catering hygiene and have never heard of such a thing before! As the polar ice machine is plug and play as a customer there is nothing we can do! Polar are so shocked they ring catering hygiene and speak to Jodie and john both of whom are not interested and say the only way they will deal with it is if we pay £250!
5) I ring catering hygiene and speak to Jodie who is quite frankly the rudest customer service person I have ever spoken to! Raising her voice at me and speaking to me like dirt!!! It takes going through 6 screens all the way through to purchase and then you click agree to terms and conditions which you assume is the previous six screens but no it is another document you can click on and then if you scroll to nearly the bottom there is a clause which can be read in two ways that says they will charge up to £400 to cover warranty and will refund if it is covered under warranty! No wonder polar has never heard of this and neither has anyone else! Can you imagine curry’s charging all customers £250 if products broke in warranty - no one would go there!
6) to make the situation even worse about 30 mins later I get a call from john because I have left an ice machine in my shopping basket and did I want to finish the purchase with him!!! I point out who I am and the whole days saga and john hangs up on me!!!!!!
Needless to say consumer rights act 2015 broken all over...... stuck with a brand new ice machine that doesn’t work and guess what - we will take them to court on principle!

Do not use these cowboys
This the worst company i have ever delt with they promise 3 day delivery a week gose by no delivery in the mean time my surcanstances change the government says I have to close my business so I ring up to cancel my order the say there will be a charge for NON-DELIVERY. I HAVE GOT THE RECEIPT WHICH SHOWS NO DELIVERY CHARGES. they say this is a charge for NON-DELIVERY SO THEY CHARGE ME £120

After sales care is about the worst…
After sales care is about the worst I’ve ever experienced. Ordered while on the phone to sales staff, asked to order over the phone was told no, rushed into purchase so I could get delivery last Wednesday. Item didn’t turn up. Was then told it’s next Wednesday and I was mistaken. I remember conversation clear as day. Was then told after a lot of persuasion on my part that the item would be delivered on Friday. It didn’t arrive. Finally turned up yesterday. Then I realised I’d ordered the wrong item (perhaps because I rushed into sale to get quick delivery). Called hoping for some assistance and spoke to Jodie. Rude and totally not interested. Refused to transfer to another team member or manager. Told I had to deal with her or email. Had a weak response to my email about 4 hours ago. Still waiting on a response to fix situation. Be very very careful if you choose to order through these cowboys, they are simply not interested and break every rule when it comes to customer service and after care.

Tefcold freezer
Bought the Tefcold GM400 and was cheaper than a few other websites we looked at. The delivery company were really great, helped lift the freezer into the house and unwrapped it even though we didn't pay extra for it. Brilliant service, would recommend.

Ordered a bottle cooler 23rd of June and was warned about the noise before i was allowed to order it by Jodie Gurtler in customer services. Also very quick to answer any questions i had.
Quick delivery and the XPO driver was very helpful , overall very happy with my cooler and the service.
