I made an enquiry today re a property and whilst that one was not suitable I spoke to Taylor from Leighton Buzzard branch who was extremely helpful took my details and seem to understand my needs and offer to let me know if any thing more suitable comes up.

I cannot recommend Brown and Merry's mortgage services enough! Loren Telford who is the Mortgage services manager helped me with my Buy to let Mortgage and is absolutely brilliant, she knows her job inside out, goes above and beyond to deliver. If it wasn't for Loren, I wouldn't of been able to get this buy to let property that I've just purchased. she's amazing and I highly recommend her services to anyone.

Sequence rental are possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. Overpriced, inept, and seem to totally forget that as a landlord it is me that pays for their service. Tenants did not report a leak that caused my wooden worktops to rot, to replace them will cost nearly £800 but am being told this is fair wear and tear and I can not claim for them to be replaced! Poor service from start to finish.

I recently let out my property with Brown and Merry Hemel branch. The team were exceptional every step of the way especially Morgan Seabrook who arranged everything, answered any queries I had and found a tenant quickly. The whole process was smooth and stress free. I would highly recommend letting with this agent.

WORST LETTING AGENT I HAVE EVER BEEN WITH! if you wanna rent then rent from watsons! First off lets start with the letting agent who had no clue how to do her job! We gave her all the information she needed she also wrote it down my partner told her he had a CCJ but then the next day after we had agreed to let a house from them she had no clue about the CCJ or that my partner had a job! Which she also wrote down! She said she had to get the landlord to do something with insurance and that i had to go to the council to get something that was completely irrelevant! She also told us the tenancy would be a month to month tenancy then on the day we signed it changed to a 6 month tenancy she also couldn't remember how much the rent or deposit was! So we moved in and the washing machine that she said they had removed from the property was still there! So we had to move it out but wait that wasn't all it was filled with dirty, disgusting smelly water that flooded the kitchen the whole back wall was also covered in mould! Anyway the washing machine was sat outside in the back garden ( this was a communal garden) the washing machine blocked our neighbours bins because there was no were else to put it but we were told that the washing machine would be picked up by the weekend so the weekend come and went and guess what the washing machine was still there and after a number of phone calls, texts and emails over the week someone actually got back to us it would be picked up in a few days but oh no wait it sat there for another month! Moving on when we moved in there was no hot water or heating it took them over a week and a half to get that sorted! The house was completely dirty when we moved in! The toliet seat had wee all over it! I mean what the hell! LOOK AFTER YOUR TENANTS! The walls were completely dirty also. This place hadn't been decorated in years! So moving on a few months we get a letter through the door saying we haven't paid our rent! Wait what really? So I doubled checked my bank statement and guess what the rent had gone out to them just like it had done the past 2 times! For some reason they couldn't track our rent down! After a number of visits to my bank and a number of statements later to prove that I had payed the rent they somehow found it! Strange right? Then another month later it happend again! Tell me how do you lose rent?? Anyway no more problems after that so we come to the end of our tenancy because we found a much better and bigger place, 2 weeks before we moved out the heating and hot water just stoped working this never got sorted they left me my boyfriend and 3 kids without. So we moved out and cleaned the house it was better than when we moved in. But no the landlord who left the house dirty when we moved in said it wasn't cleaned and tried to charge us for cleaning! That didn't work it also took upto 6 months to get the rent and deposit they owed us back. This was 6 months of calls and emails half of which were ignored! They also moved people in when we still had the tenancy with them I was shocked to learn of this when I went to my home and saw people moving in! They also never asked for the keys back! And my god the amount of letting agent people who come and went from that place was unbelievable! 7 people! And all of them had no clue how to do there job! Worst ever please take your money someone else like Watson! I was with watsons for nearly 5 years and they were brilliant!!

Really helpful, kind and honest estate agents, highly recommend them we had a complicated chain and they navigated through all the issues really well and took a lot of the pressure of us by dealing with things promptly and efficiently

I don't usually write a review but I thought that my experience with the Hemel Hempstead branch deserved one. I was dealing with Tom Fitzgerald who shown such professionalism throughout. He made the whole process of buying a house so easy for us, calling both parties and giving us updates all the time was incredible, very humble, good attitude towards people, brilliant personality ,knows his job very well, in all, we were able to exchange and complete very early than the usual 3 - 4 months even during the lock down because of his hard work, very well done Tom and thank you very much for helping us to buy our house which we are so much in love with, please don't let this end here, keep it up.

Matt and Rich were both fantastic when we sold our house in Astwood. We achieved over and above the asking price due to their dedication and hard work. A pleasure to do business with them.

Excellent team. All the staff at the branch were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. As new renters moving from student housing they were all willing and happy to help and inform us every step of the way. Stephen in particular was amazing. Thank you hemel beach for finding our first home.

Rich Poole supported us throughout the process of my partner and I purchasing our first home, and he was brilliant. He was more than happy to allow us to visit the house on multiple occasions, and always communicated any queries of ours with the seller in a timely manner.

Very poor experience in trying to arrange a valuation. The Berkhamstead office didn’t take my contact details and then didn’t show, even though I phoned the day before travelling and also called into their high street office ahead of the supposedly arranged viewing. Also, the lady I spoke to in person in Berkhamsted was dismissive and rude. This agent can’t get the basics right! Such as shame as I had a fantastic rental experience a few years previous with the same agency! I think there are better, more proactive online and high street agents to choose from.

Alex & Beth at Milton Keynes have been excellent & proactive in getting my vacant property rented out quickly. They are very tenacious and business like and 'get things done'.

They have both been incredibly helpful & have gone above & beyond the standard duties by doing extra tasks for me (as I am not local to the property).

Having had the most appalling service from JACKSON PYNE in Milton Keynes (honestly...just run...and keep running) - where my property was neglected & very poorly managed - BROWN & MERRY are a breath of fresh air. The two lettings services I have experienced are galaxies apart.

Background to me using BROWN & MERRY

I previously used JACKSON PYNE , Milton Keynes to manage my properties. Quick turnover of staff (suspect most run once they see what its like) & recently seems to be a staff team of two - Richard & Courtney.

Negligent from top to bottom. Steve (Finances) rarely paid me rent on time - unless I reminded him (!) - if not sometimes it was a fortnight late. On one ocassion, they 'forgot' to pay me for 5 months.

JPyne also advised me to replace all windows when tenants were failing to clean them on the inside. Then I was advised to replace the whole front door when the letterbox broke & the tenants were too lazy to replace it..unbelievable..was like being in a slapstick comedy without the laughs!

JACKSON PYNE only visited once a year (if that?) and poor tenant cleanliness issues were never addressed & then revisited & double checked. End result, I sacked Jackson Pyne & end up with a house that's in rent arrears & left in a complete mess.

● JACKSON PYNE MK did not take a deposit, did not do an inventory & slipped a sneaky clause into the contract (unknown to me at the time) which allowed them to still receive the full management fee whilst those tenants remained in property - even if I decided to CHANGE agents. How sneaky & unethical is that? ●

They jumped sides according to what gave them the least accountability.

In my opinion JACKSON PYNE MK are a disgrace to the MK lettings trade. Thank God I'm free of these careless people - who I had the misfortune to mismanage two of my properties. Both of which were left dirty & damaged & costing me many thousands of pounds to correct.

BROWN & MERRY now manage both my properties and are FANTASTIC.

Alex & Beth are excellent. They seem to be very happy & contented staff - with a good work ethic & good sense of humour/perspective.

Despite being very busy they keep in regular contact and care about you , your house & the tenant. They care about standards & they care about how people FEEL. What a wonderful,refreshing change to my other experience.

Brown and Merry Watford have been amazing from our first contact with them. Hanan from valuations was professional, responsive and very insightful, she got our house up and online very quick. Jake from sales managed to sell the house without any official viewings for asking value which was incredible! Jamie has been superb throughout the process. 6 months of negotiations (no fault of B+M) and countless set backs did not discourage Jamie and he was always keeping us in the loop as well as providing useful updates. Without him and B+M I am confident the sale would not have gone through and I cannot thank the team enough for all the work they have put into our case. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

Recently called up and inquired about a property that they had available and i felt like they did not have much conversation and that i was leading the conversation. I would of liked a bit more of a call lead and more of a conversation as it felt like i was filling out a questionnaire.

Excellent dealings so far with B&M BERKHAMSTED. Our house went on the market 4 weeks before CoVid 19 lockdown, Amir and his team have kept me updated throughout the last few weeks and have delivered high quality viewings. We have already accepted an offer only one week after viewing restrictions were lifted. Harry and Bobi also deserve a mention super professional and a joy to work with.

We have just moved into our new property which we bought through B&M, Hemel. We also sold our property with them. The whole experience was a positive one. They were extremely proactive with getting viewings for our flat, and were always prompt at returning calls in relation to the property we were buying. Kevin, did an outstanding job in terms of overcoming issues along the way and offering options to keep the process moving. He dealt with any issues in a calm and professional manner and we would have no hesitation in recommending Brown and Merry to others.

Having just completed on a rental property in chesham Buckinghamshire I would like to say that Amóur who was our point of contact at Brown and Merry was knowledgable about the whole process and was always on hand day and night to answers any questions about the property. She went above and beyond any estate agent I have dealt with in the past. I would thoroughly recommend Brown and Merry and in particular Amour who was an absolute star.....
