Stayed recently at Britannia Newcastle airport hotel. It was atrocious,dirty room and broken curtains ,broken fittings/tiles in the bathroom.. Stupid messages everywhere advising you what not to do ..ie keep the bathroom door closed as the steam sets of the heat sensor...in fact the problem was that the extraction system didn't work ..that didn't matter neither did the shower !, Old bed and one very cheap pillow.. Finally a great overpowering smell of disinfectant everywhere... Staff were cool though..

Room was appallingly badly fitted out, bathroom looked out of the 1900's. Sink in the room tap shut off. Security lousy, the door wouldn't lock until you leant on it really hard. Back pack stolen from within what was supposed to be a secure storage facility, constant lies from the staff about security video footage. I wish there was a lower rating to give this crap hotel.

Grand bursting.folkstone this place is a joke .staff far from helpful .doors with holes wher locks are suposed to be .lift buttons broken dangerous..as for beds and soft furnishings no a fire label in sight,this is illegal as far as health and safety is concerned without what the fire officer would say. Iam going to say that I think this place is a place that needs to be inspected by all the booking agency's

Very bad experience when i stay at britannia airport hotel mancheater i got tickets and management are unqualified people on reception. I dnt want to give a single star on rate of experience

Ive just been to the ADAMTON COUNTRY HOUSE at PRESTWICK with friends, it's a lovely old hotel near PRESTWICK airport, very quiet, but so big you could get lost in it,we had a lovely time there and had my birthday there the staff are really friendly and can't help you enough, especially Lesley (house keeping)and Nathan (chef) who really spoilt us and made our stay great, only downside was when Nathan was on day off food was plain and bland, but a good weekend was had by all,

I have left this review several months. As I complained and as yet had not had any response. My stay was at the Britannia hotel, Southport.
I paid for an executive room and was disgusted with the state of it. The curtains were hanging off the rail. The net curtains were dirty and full of holes. The head board had a nail protruding from it which caught my head every time I lay on the bed.
Worst of all I am disabled and there was only a bath which I was unable to get into. I complained to reception and was told, “ yes the room is earmarked for refurbishing and also we only have so many disabled rooms and they are all gone. We are also full so can’t move you”.. GREAT RESPONSE.

Once I arrived home on Thursday evening - after 9pm, I realised I had left my charger with three charging cables plugged in to a socket in my room at Britannia Coventry.

I called the reception desk to ask if it had been retrieved by house-keeping. I asked the receptionist to call me with the answer once this had been checked, I was told this was not possible and then abruptly cut-off.

I called back again, to ask why I had been cut-off and could they please call me back with an answer, to once again be cut-off not before being told it was my responsibility to call back.

I then called the sales office - as I was considering staying again next week - relayed my story, and was then once again cut-off before the person who had said that they would call me back could take my full number. To much of a coincidence given the previous attitude.

Is this really the trajectory of customer service at Britannia? I used to stay regularly at the Manchester Britannia, and was always met with very good customer service.

Coventry's approach to a simple request has been dreadful, especially as when you call you are charged at 13p per minute.

For more than 10 years my husband and I have enjoyed Whist Weeks at Heathlands hotel in Bournemouth and have just returned from another enjoyable week there. The staff as ever were friendly and helpful. However, over the years the catering provided has deteriorated to the point now where the evening meals in particular are far from acceptable and not as has been served in previous visits to the hotel.

The hot food was very repetitive. One would expect a menu cycle of at least a week if not two. During the 7 nights we stayed at Heathlands, Pork was served three times, Chicken legs served on three occasions and, as a welcomed change, Beef on the seventh night. In past years steak pies, lasagne and shepherds pie were also on the menu. Why has this been changed? I can understand there may be a need to cut costs but these alternatives would not increase costs. Does the current chief have insufficient skills to cook other foods, does he/she need more training or replacing? Each night a fish dish was on the menu but apart from the Breaded Cod all fish dishes were over cooked. One side of the fillet was very hard either due to over cooking in the kitchen or through being on the servery for too long under the heating lights.

Has the chef been instructed to put on a restricted menu or has he/she decided this for themselves?

The restaurant menu offers Salad as an alternative to the hot dishes, however, this is not really the case! Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, beetroot and coleslaw were available on all nights and on a couple of occasions vegetable salad or potato salad were offered. Only on three days was there anything to go with the salad, twice pate and on one occasion Tuna & Mayo. On 4 of the 7 nights there was no cold dish at all to go with the salad. Again what has happened to the hard boiled eggs, pieces of quiche, mop herring etc, that were available in the past? Without these, the salad as a meal, was not available as advertised. It was effectively only a side salad to go with the very restrictive, repetitive main hot meal. Has the chief been instructed to restrict the menu or has he chosen to do this him/herself?

I am a diabetic and the hotel advertises it offers special dishes for the condition. However, the only sweet offered to me was a dish of plain jelly 7 nights in a row!!! Again what has happened to the fresh fruit, cheese and biscuits etc that used to be offer to me in past visits to the hotel.

I consider your hotel needs to urgently improve its menus, offer a wider range dishes and ensure the chef (s) have the necessary skills. The current standard of food and the menu are FAR FROM THE STANDARD EXPECTED OR ACCEPTABLE.

Awful. Toilet was broken and stools were left for our arrival. Receptionist attitude was terrible. Didn’t seem interested at all.
Very disappointed

I have just spent 5 days at The Prince of Wales hotel in Southport with a few friends and had a fantastic time. The staff were all so helpful and welcoming who, if there was a problem, rectified it immediately. It’s not a 5 star hotel so for the price don’t expect it but it’s made up for by a very warm, welcoming hotel. The Prince of Wales is having a lot of money spent on it refurbishing, but if the rooms that have been done are the standard for the whole hotel it will be first class. Thank you to all the staff.

The hotel Britannia Airport Hotel Manchester was booked as after one night accomodation the car would remain in the carpark until our return from holiday. Having prepaid for breakfast we then found that due to an early flight our meal was a continental and not full english. The 'garage' was almost full and a tight squeeze. On our return we found a large Mercedes parked alongside our car and a 4x4 pickup parked opposite him. I ended up having to pay for the damage to the Mercedes as didn't have sufficient room to leave the parking spot.

I stayed at the Britania in Hampstead. Bar was closed as there was no stock. No room service or a telephone in the room. The staff were not enthusiastic. No restaurant and only a continental breakfast was available for over £11. The room was not replenished with tea, coffee and milk nor did the towels get changed and the bin emptied. Just a really lacklustre experience

Anyone had any parking fines from another site apart from parking eye. Reception was chaos when we arrived due to a very loud wedding and the girl at reception just wanted us out of the way. No reminder to book car in. Contacted hotel 2 times and got fine canceled on 3 time they say they no longer do this service. Gave me email address which didn’t work rang again new email address again still not working. Paid fine as fed up getting runaround. Now getting a text message saying I am owing a fine to HMGov are they sharing information to other companies or sites. This was at The Royal Court Hotel near Coventry between18/08/24& 21/08/24.

A broken lift - that seems to be constantly broken - over the august bank holiday weekend. And a room where the window wouldn’t close. Poor lighting in the room and only a small mirror. No counters in the bathroom so had to put toiletries on the floor. Poor.

Britannia Adelphi : The location was great not to far from Liverpool lime street station and another plus had an iron and hairdryer , then it all went down hill , the room was really tiny , the bed well it was so uncomfortable the mattress on one side had lots of bumps and the other side was like sleeping on the floor.Even thou we had a window it was useless thank god for the fan they provided.they didn’t seem to have many lifts for the size of the hotel and we couldn’t even find the stairs and the corridors were so long to get to your room . The bar staff were always on there phones and didn’t seem to really want to be there

Booked this hotel for me and my disabled friend, despite me having my ID and paying their ridiculous prices for a windowless room, they said no because my friend didn't have ID. Which is not a requirement for UK residents. Will not be back. Overall ew.

The Britannia Hotel in Manchester needs a total refurbishment, the rooms are disgusting. They have rust on the baths and showers, paper thin walls, water damaged ceilings, holes in the walls, rooms smell musty and no locks on the doors. I took my daughter who has learning difficulties and the whole weekend she was continuously being asked to provide ID. Dreadful hotel would never use again.

Britannia have a dreadful reputation, but the Clifton at Scarborough is maybe an exception. The staff were friendly and helpful; the room was big, well-supplied with hairdryer, etc; the bed was very comfortable; the sea view was lovely. A couple of downsides: one is that currently there's no proper dining experience to be had. Bar snacks are available in the bar a lot of the time, but I'm pretty certain that the vegetable soup I was served was from a tin - pretty awful really - and the wine also was vile. The other issue was that our second night was straight after Storm Lilian, which I assume must have done some damage because there appeared to be repairs going on for a large part of the night after. They might have had good reason to be banging and shouting in the middle of the night but it didn't make for a good night's sleep. Hopefully just a necessary one-off, but some acknowledgement of it by the staff would've been good. Anyway, despite that, this was our third visit and we'd stay again.

I WAS ACTUALLY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AT BOTH COVENTRY BRITANNIA HOTELS. BOTH LOOKED CLOSED DOWN AS FULL OF ASYLUM SEEKERS. THEY JUST SEEMED TO BE WALKING ARIUND CORRIDORS IN GROUPS. DIDNT SLEEP AT ALL, ROOM FILTHY AND DISGRACEFUL. I STILL FEEL ON EDGE ESPECIALLY WITH THE RECENT RIOTS AND TRYING TO SET FIRE TO HOTELS HOUSING ASYUM SEEKERS. DISGRACEFUL MULTI MILLIONARE TYCOON RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS, SAFER AND CLEANER TO SLEEP IN YOUR CAR

Currently stayimg at the grand hotel in Llandudno.. we booked a sea room view which is a lovely view. However cannot get out onto the balcony as it is locked shut. This day and age you would expect WiFi throughout the hotel but no.. a charge of £7 per device is charged for 24 hours.. absolutely disgusting. No smart TV in room either. I have stayed st much cheaper hotels and the service has been exceptional.. this is a real disappointment. Britannia hotels are really getting all the money they can out of thier guests. I will be support independent hotels from now on.. very disappointed in them charging for the basic luxury of WiFi
