I went to the bass pro shop in Rocklin…

I went to the bass pro shop in Rocklin today to buy a pair of binoculars that were on sale for Fathers day.
They told me to wait in the ammo line. They were 6 people ahead of me and I waited for 15 minutes, the first person in line was still there.
I guess they do not really want to sell the products they advertise as being on sale?
I am a member of their store and used to get discounts as veteran.
I will never shop there again, they had 4 people engaged with ammo sales doing who knows what? Plenty of people in other parts of the store not doing anything to help customers?
Don’t think they care about their customers or repat business, think I will try Dick's sporting goods next time, heard they were good.

Worst personal experience ever topped with a little honesty

I would never recommend anyone ever buy anything from BPS or work for them. I was with the company for 4 years and they let me go because corporate took the side of a female outfitter that complained about me and targeted me.

It’s a retail job that requires you to shove their credit card down a customer’s throat and managers are never satisfied with your work. Management is a joke there. They sit around and play around on computers and on their phones while yelling at us as we help the customers.

If you’re employed there now, don’t get close to anyone! Come in, work your shift and go home. MUCH easier that way. No one can complain you did or said anything about them if you are doing your job.

How does a company that claims it’s supportive of families, veterans, and others but not care about ANY of that?! They worked us to death, especially during the holidays, so many of us couldn’t be with our families. During the beginning of the year, the company did a corporate restructuring and cut jobs. They let go off 3 or 4 people at our store-a Air Force veteran, a Senior Lead, a Manager, and the GSM. They all had been there 4+ years and were let go like it was nothing.

Don’t believe any of the lies they tell you it’s all about the bottom line -$$$. They will literally tell you anything to get you to open your wallets and sign up for their card. There are better ones out there with better perks and benefits. 90% of the time all they give away is a hat as an incentive for signing up anyway. A hat! For screwing up your credit. Totally not worth it.
The company receives an $80 bounty for every approval they get. That money goes to the bank and supposedly goes to labor hours for the store outfitters. The outfitter that signs someone up for the card gets extra $$ on their paycheck. $1 per card.

Granted, I may still be a bit bitter from my being let go but it’s also been a blessing in disguise. I can be me. I have time for life again. No money, but time.

The ONE thing I will miss is the 50% discount on name brand items. Pretty sweet deal there!

Never even think about buying a boat…

Never even think about buying a boat here. Every word out of there mouth is a lie. Deceptive pricing followed by incentive's that are never received. They continue to sell your boat while it awaits detailing after you pay for it. They set up another buyer for the boat you paid for and then gouge you at closing with lies amounting to several thousand in losses. They don't blink when you cancel, because that is what they wanted. They sold your boat to someone else for more, then betray you off for pennies. Every word everyone spoke in Hampton, VA -Joe, Jessica (Ally) were blatant manipulations and lies. All of this is orchestrated in tandem with the sales manager and store manager, they are all in on it. They refund you without hesitation for an entire boat you paid for because they can sell it to someone else for more.

Worst place on the planet to buy a…

Worst place on the planet to buy a firearm. Takes 3 or 4 hrs to get to the point of background check. I've gone there 3hrs after being notified that my firearm is in only to be told it's on the truck but unable to start the process of procurement. They claim a "higher standard" and then take up to 5hrs to allow you out the door with your purchase. Each step requires a manager to ok it and they take an hour to show up and there are a dozen steps. Sorry but not worth it to save $50 or $75. Three times I've purchased there. Never will I endure that place again. Horror show from start to finish. Gainesville Florida Bass Pro Shop is the worst place to purchase a firearm. There are a few great employees and a dozen morons. I've purchased at Shooters World and they have a high standard, and it takes less than half an hour before the background check. Never again! The end!

Bad experience at Bass Pro Shops Tacoma…

Tuesday afternoon walked into bass pro shop Tacoma, WA at 1:10pm. By 1:30pm was notified by license plate number that my vehicle had been vandalized and theft of items occurred. Lost $3000 of fishing gear and now will have to replace window that was shattered to gain entrance to vehicle. Police officer said that this was a near daily occurrence. No help from store cleaning up glass. Asked for a call from manager regarding any video surveillance and he finally called back 48 hours later subsequent to leaving 3 messages. Not impressed with his unprofessionalism. Will perhaps shop online but will NEVER shop in person at this business

THE STORE THAT TREATS YOU LIKE CRAP!!!!!!!

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REACH SOMEONE IN THE STORE, FOR THE LAST 5 DAYS, IN ALL DEPARTMENT, NO ONE ANSWER THE PHONES OR OPERATOR, THIS IS A JOKE, DID THEY PERMANENTLY CLOSED IT DOORS.

Can never login to my account

Every single time I want to login to my account I have to reset my password. Instead of just emailing you a password reset email they will annoyingly want to email you a code that never arrives causing me to have to call because their chat window does not open in order to be able to use it. I have had to call many times to reset my password. After one of these times one of the reps maliciously changed my mailing address. I can't change my address because I can't even get into my account as well as the fact that I just had something delivered to my address so that only leaves a rep to manually change it. Unless it literally changed by itself which I highly doubt. The reps are nice at first and then become rude and act like you are the problem when it's their problem. I don't need to verify my mailing address for my account, email will suffice. They could just fic the issue their website is having rather then making people call all the time. The only plus is being able to talk to people that do not have thick accents that make it so I cannot understand anything they say.

The worst experience trying to pick up…

The worst experience trying to pick up a handgun at the hunting department the wait time for your name to be called to the counter is a joke & once you’re called be ready to wait another 2 to 3 hours if you’re lucky to be able to walk out with your firearm,I will never buy another firearm from them as long as live

Is BPS joining the "anti-law enforcement" trend?

I ordered two firearms online and had them available for pickup at the Glendale, AZ store. Order W216420031. I scheduled my pickup time for 1100 hours today.
When I was called to the counter I showed my Arizona drivers license, my creds and MY current water bill from the City of Phoenix government. They asked if the address on my DL was correct and I told them it was my mailing address as my residence address is redacted. They told me they could not sell the firearms without me having my residence address on my license as that was an ATF “rule”. I told him I could have lied and said the PO Box was my residence, but I didn’t need to. I told them that was not a federal law and he insisted it was a “rule” and didn’t want to get in trouble. He refunded the amount (which is still pending) and I left without any purchase.
The instructions on page 5 of the ATF 4473, question 18b, “Supplemental Documentation” clearly states that other documents such as the City government water bill are acceptable, according to the law. I’m not aware on any hidden ATF “rules” and I have not had any issues prior to this.
Their own website allows the ATF exception, but links can't be posted here. It says: "Please note – if the address on your government-issued photo identification does not match your current residential address you will be required to provide a second form of government-issued documentation with your current physical address for verification (such as a vehicle registration, voter ID card, Concealed Cary Permit, hunting license, etc.)"

No respect from BassProshops.

BasProshops in Dania Fl..The manager, Chris Smeeton, doesn't even give you an answer. In his head he must think that because I'm Canadian I'm not going to small claim court. He's right. I'll go encourage small bait shop or Walmart.

No information, no delivery

I ordered a scope for my friend in Minneapolis for Christmas on december 3th, got a confirmation, and told my friend that a parcel was on its way. Nothing happend, and then, when contacting Bass Pro I got told, that the order was cancelled since billig adress and delivering adress are different. I was not informed at any time, and now I can not get the item in time for Christmas. I am not pleased att all.

Deceptive policy: no refund on Paypal purchases

Bought a coat for my wife online and need to return it. They don't reimburse if you used PayPal; you can only get store credit/gift card. This is hidden in their return policies but not clarified when you're given the option to use Paypal to pay. This is another example of manipulative corporate policies being used to exploit customers. It is crooked, plain and simple. They have forever lost me as a customer.

made a firearm purchase online on 12/2/2023. The rifle was supposed to arrive in the Broken Arrow store within 5-10 days. I chatted in on 12/11 and was told it was at the store and I should give it 24-48 hours for confirmation to come pick up the item. I waited 3 days and chatted in again on 12/14 and by noon I received a phone call explaining they "didn't check it in properly" and that it was ready. I then traveled 1.5 hours to Broken Arrow after I got off work at 5pm. I arrived and checked in to the queue at the gun counter around 7pm. I was 4th in line. I waited in store 1.5 hours and when my name was finally called it was 8:35 and they told me it was too late. I explained that I have a 3 hour round trip to pick up my item and that I waited 1.5 hours but they said sorry. They won't start the NICS check after 8:30. I asked for a manager and by the time he showed up it was 8:43. I was told to "check their store hours online next time." There were 5 employees working the gun counter at the time, but only two customers being assisted at a time. They saw me standing there for over an hour and didn't even tell me that 8:30 is cutoff. If it wasn't for the fact that I bought this firearm for my son for Christmas I would request a refund and would never do business with this company again. I have never been more disappointed or angry at a company in my life. I have spent a lot of money in this store alone and unfortunately this sort of thing has happened before. That's why I made the trip on a Thursday night just in case. I'm guessing that I'm expected to make another 3 hour round trip to pick up the item I already paid for. The biggest issue I have was that the employee and manager I was talking to made it more about having all the firearms locked up so they could get out of there around 9 rather than providing good customer service. This entire experience from start to finish has been awful.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Tiffany from the fraud prevention department wouldn't allow me to speak AT ALL. She was very disrespectful to me. I tried placing an order 3 times online and they would cancel it without notice. Then a supervisor provided me with a coupon code and they canceled the code without letting me know. Overall very bad experience so I won't buy here again.
