Terrible customer service
Ordered rope, draws and shoes. Heard nothing back for a week. I asked for an update and they said they don't have the rope in stock and it'll be another week or so. Two weeks later they shipped the package. For whatever reason the package did not leave their warehouse for another week. Then it failed xray security check (!!) and got returned to them. Meanwhile they first denied having received the package, then acknowledged it! They refunded the money but failed to provide any discount codes or offer free shipping or any other type of compensation if I was to order from them again! This is while I had to email them repeatedly asking for updates and I had nothing but radio silence!

I've previously only used the UK-shop which has always been great. Unfortunately, my first experience with the EU-shop was the polar opposite.
They sent the wrong item, so I had to take photos and then take it back to UPS. It's been over 2 weeks now and I have not received my refund yet. When I asked, I was told it "will be handled within a few days and you will receive the credit on your card". So after shipping the wrong item, they are now also making me wait for my money. Amazing customer service, really.
Exceptional customer service
Exceptional customer service and very prompt delivery! Had an issue with a payment and the team were on it very quickly and were super helpful. Ordered some climbing shoes and they were delivered the next day (with standard delivery!). Bought from them several times now and could not fault.

I bought a pair of Scarpa Instincts…
I bought a pair of Scarpa Instincts climbing shoes in September. Less than a month later the strap on the shoe had broken and the other was close to going. I emailed banana fingers and had to send photos, I then had to return the shoes. We are now in November, I still don't have the shoes back as the manufacturer are repairing and that it would 3 to 4 weeks still. The shoes will have been with th manufacturer being reviewed and repaired for longer than I had the shoes. Poor service for a clearly faulty product

As beginners, the service was so welcoming and the chap went out way to find different shoes to fit. Makes you want to return!!

I've ordered with them in the past and they were fine, this time after placing the order and paying for shipping days later I receive an additional cost adding to nearly half my total. So basically the saving are now just a load of bs, there is a small print leading to an additional page but if you don't know what to look for it's a big fu. It would of been a simple solution of adding it beside the delivery price when selecting your delivery option or country but I assume the transparency would be detrimental to business as you would assume they wouldn't be that grossly incompetent otherwise.
Fast and precise
Amazing website, a lot of materials at great prices. Super fast delivery even in corsica where normally is a bit more complicated to receive parcels (i receive it with 3 days of advance). Great Customer care, they answered me in like 1h. I’ll definitely order again.
Great customer service
Had a lovely customer service experience with Banana Fingers when the shoes I ordered had a manufacturing fault. They were quick to respond, gave options for returns/exchanges & options for posting which was really good. Also loved that there was minimal packaging used in the order & most of the packaging was paper/cardboard.
The customer rep I corresponded with was Kitty & they were amazing!

Well what can I say, what a shop we have here! Banana fingers HAS to be on your go to climbing store for any climbing gear that you need. Everything you will ever need is all stocked in one place. And not just that, as I feel their best asset, is the personal responses and feedback you get from the team no matter how big or small the request is. The level of detail in their responses really make you feel a part of the family. Great team of staff, great items stocked, this has to be your go to climbing shop. Keep up the good work bananarama’s!!

I have bought lots of items from Bananafingers over the years and their service has always been excellent. I have just had my first experience on a manufacturer's warranty return which Kitty helped me with. Great communications and a very fair outcome. Highly recommended.

Have bought from bananafingers for years with no issues, but when DPD messed up the delivery of my order, Bananafingers customer service was brilliant in helping to resolve it with me, keeping me updated throughout. Exactly what you hope for!

I had a warranty issue with one of my items and the staff were helpful and responsive and promptly had my item returned to the manufacturer and replaced for new.

Great customer service experience. Fast response to emails and really nice replies and even go and check to see if my goods are ready for despatch. Item arrived as requested next day delivery. Would certainly recommend banana Fingers as a company to purchase from.
No hope of refund
I ordered a pair of climbing shoes from Banana Fingers but had to return them as they were too small. I followed the return process exactly as outlined on their website, using their tracked 48-hour Post Office service. The shoes were returned on 17th April 2025 and tracking shows they were delivered, but I’ve heard nothing back — no confirmation of return, no refund, no updates.
I’ve tried contacting them to follow up but have not received a response yet. It’s disappointing, especially as I was hoping to place another order for a different size. I would have expected faster communication and processing, particularly when returns are handled through their recommended system.
Hoping this gets resolved soon, but based on this experience, I’m very cautious about ordering again.
Great prices got even better but that’s not all!
Great prices for a 3 pack of DMM cams got even better when they gave me the extra 10% Easter discount even though I’d forgotten to apply for it at the online checkout. I emailed to ask and they honoured the discount. That plus the order arrived in the 1-4 day timescale requested. The customer response email was polite, understanding and delivered everything I’d asked for. So thank you for the brilliant prices and customer support

Gift vouchers do not work and cannot be refunded.
I was given two vouchers for my birthday in February for bananafingers. I am a climber so this is the go-to gift for me from friends and family.
Neither of the voucher codes worked, and customer support told me that it was a tech issue with the site and should be fixed soon.
It is now April, the stock I wanted to buy has sold out, and the vouchers are still not working because of this technical issue. The company won't give the people who bought the vouchers a refund, so they have essentially just taken the money from my relatives - over £100.
In this whole time I haven't been able to speak to anyone on the phone - their support number seems to be disconnected.
I have been shopping at bananafingers for years but after this experience I am not sure I can recommend it. I feel sorry for my family and friends who have spent money on a gift that doesn't exist and they won't get their money back either.
I've asked customer support to refund the amount to the original buyers, but they ignored the request, instead issuing me with a discount code (but only for one of the vouchers because I didn't have the invoice for the second - because it was a gift!).
The discount code worked, but the shoes I wanted to buy were sold out in my size. I chose half a size down hoping they'd fit but they don't and now I have to pay to return the shoes. Meanwhile, I am down a pair of shoes I wanted to buy for a trip, I can spend the discount code on something else but not on the thing I actually need, and there's still a voucher that was bought for me that I can't use at all.
Worst, there is no notice on the site alerting people to the problem with the voucher codes, which means people can still buy them, but they cannot be used or refunded - so they're just throwing money away on a broken website. Banana Fingers must be aware of this fact, and is just taking peoples' money anyway.
