It was my first time going for a MRI in Portlaoise so I have never been before. There is absolutely no signagure apart from a little sign, however as its in the Parkside shopping centre, there was no mention of this clinic. Every other clinic on level 2 is detailed outside. As a result of not being able to find the clinic, I arrived onetime, not the 20mins beforehand but was told iii needed to reschedule. Get signs !! If the clinic was advertised I wouldn't have been late and had to reschedule, which impacts my health and work life.

I went for an mri on the 31st May, when I booked my scan the call taker was extremely rude and when I attended it was like I was an inconvenience to the receptionist. The two people that I met while getting the scan though were lovely and very helpful. Then the receptionist dismissed my request for a disc which I needed for my doctor, saying that's not how it is done. I then had to phone a week later after I found out that is in fact how it is done and had a rude person on the other end of the phone more concerned with a conversation he was having with his colleague and he hung up on me while I was in the middle of asking a question.
This company needs to train there staff on patient care. It's obvious they have had zero.

Had an MRI in Tallaght earlier this evening. I don't do great with enclosed spaces, but the 2 staff members were absolutely brilliant.
They could not have done any more in the way of helping me, made such a difference. Thank you.

The staff at reception in Dundrum are rude, the parking situation is problematic and the person who administered my scan made no attempt to explain the procedure, just barked confusing instructions at me. This is an expensive commercial service, they could at least have the decency to treat patients like customers - and try to remember that people feel vulnerable when they're dressed only in a hospital gown

Great, efficient service. Staff very helpful and Miroslav, the Radiographer in Affidea Northwood was friendly and explained the process. Highly recommend

Patient care is 0 percentage. I stood at the reception trying to digest the situation, all the 2 staffs involved cared for is for me to leave the reception, even when I told the staff that I was experiencing palpitations, she responded “I don’t care, it’s not my problem” both continued to say that if I don’t leave they will get a security to remove me.

11 year old needed X-ray for wrist after sports injury. Went in Saturday lunchtime and was seen within 10 minutes, xray complete 10 mins later and doctor reviewed with follow up appointment. In and out in less than 30 minutes. It was well worth the money. Loads of parking, friendly staff and doctor explained the injury very clearly.

El 23 de abril de 2025 tuve que repetir una resonancia porque la primera la hicieron mal. Además me indicaron que esta segunda, que se hizo una semana después, debía hacerse con contraste, lo que me tuvo esa semana intrigado pensando que en la primera habían encontrado algo grave. Volvieron a confundirse ya que no se necesitaba contraste sino rectificar la primera. Total, una chapuza.

Absolutely incompetence is how Affidea is best described.
They are all about money, money , money.
Most of the staff have poor English and have difficulty in understanding simple requests.
I have contacted them seven times looking for a copy of a report and each time they come up with different excuses. The MRI procedure was fine but their follow up and communication leave a lot to be desired.

Used this service referred form GP for my elderly dad. Appt scheduling initially fine although they rang the wrong contact number. All good getting MRI and results. Then they keep ringing my dad to schedule appt which stresses him out and confuses everyone. Have had to ring them back 3 times to tell them he’s had his appointment and they shouldn’t be calling him on the number they have. Something very wrong with their customer service. Not connected to the actual place where you go for you scan so lots of miscommunication and duplication. Rude staff member on the phone hung up when I asked to make sure this was properly noted and no one would call my dad AGAIN!! no apology or acknowledgment of the additional confusion and stress caused

It took 10 full working days until my ultrasound referral was even acknowledged. (The phone says it can take up to 48 hours.)
Who ever runs the clinic needs to realise that as patients we are in the need of scans as we are/gp is concerned about our health.
Thankfully I got my ultrasound done in cherrywood all within 4 working days - from referral to the scan been done.

Rudest staff member I have ever encountered while at the Dundrum centre. We were the only two people in the waiting room and was told that I could not sit with my 16-year old in the waiting room (that has space for about 40 people) and I would have to wait outside as that’s the policy.

When I tried to point out that we were the only people there and there was plenty of space, she got more annoyed and said that this is the policy and we didn’t need to stay if we didn’t want to.

Unbelievably poor service and obvious that they are getting money paid by the big insurers in Ireland so they don’t care about the patients.

Te dicen que te mandan los resultados por el portal del paciente y te bloquean !?!?
Pides por correo que te activen la cuenta para poder entrar en el portal del paciente porque te urgen los resultados y no recibes respuesta. Llamas y lo mismo. Nada .

Resultados de la resonancia en un sobre blanco sin membrete y abierto y CD rom sin protección. Esto en el pasado no era así. Solía estar bien presentado. Y además el CD rom dice q la resonancia fue sin contraste, lo cual es erróneo.

Rude call center, rude staff. They didn’t send me any link of my results after my 4th phone call.

I tried to ring find out about appointment for father.
man very rude no knowledge of his job no help at all.
when I was explaining something he hung up on me.
I really don't think this company should be used to help our medical card company hse patients.

I went to Cork affidea for a MRI. I was made to take all my clothes off and put a gown on. This is normal procedure but there was no heating in the building it was freezing. Don't they charge enough to heat the place. It was January, luckily I had a lift so heated up quickly but if I had to catch a bus I'd of never warmed up . affidea is risking people's health not acceptable.

Went to Affidea with a badly infected big toe which had a big pus filled blister. I said to the doctor that it needed to be lanced and he said “No, that’s been caused by the application of antiseptic cream” and he prescribed oral antibiotics, drew a circle on my toe below the infection and said if the redness went over that to go to A&E. I spent a horrible night in pain and the infection spread. I had heard there waiting times of over 10 hours at Dublin public A&Es so I went to Blackrock Clinic A&E the next day. Blackrock usually has you in and out in 2 hours which was a better option than sitting in a public hospital for hours with the infection continuing to spread. I was advised at Blackrock that the toe should have lanced the day before, that healing could not start until it had been lanced. This is the second time I attended Affidea with an infection and they mismanaged my treatment and I ended up in A&E. I
Turns out it was the same doctor both times.
