Like many on here I was worried about my funds. Almost £500. I contacted them last Wednesday. I had a reply the same day informing me due to verification issues I would have to have a refund.
Thursday I emailed my bank details and statement to WeSwap customer Service (Not Gibraltar). I received confirmation of this and on Monday received my money. Excellent customer service

Despite all the bad rep these guys are getting, my experience when trying to track down missing funds this week, was fairly easy and the response was prompt and professional

Utterly useless. Card blocked with no way to speak to them. Avoid like the plague!

Absolutely fuming at this company. As with everyone else they left me high and dry. I didn’t get notified of this closure until after it has happened and I was out of the country. Download the new app and then can’t sign up because my email address is already in use?!? Yes, yes It is, the whole point. Near 50 unreturned phone calls and emails later I finally went through resolver. Then they finally started to answer. Not they’ve been in anyway helpful. I can’t even get a copy of my statements as I definitely had more money in my account then what they are saying. If I get the money back by this time next year I’ll be amazed. And they reckon I’m going to keep using them after this?!? Massive fail WeSwap, if you aren’t already going under I hope you do.

I cannot load, which I now see is a great blessing as neither can I spend! I am in USA and the card has been declined three times at different outlets, despite correct pin, $ money in the account. However, I tried at a big retailer this afternoon and it worked! So if it works, why can’t we load onto the card.

Similar experience to others, this was once ok and not a bad concept however during covid and the travel restrictions my account became dormant. As a result they closed my account although I had £100's in there. They give a long list of demands and criteria to refund your money and do not respond to emails, I strongly believe this has now become a huge conspiracy to defraud as many people as they can. I will have to take this to the financial ombudsman but I'm sure many will not bother because they might have only lost a relatively small amount of money but imagine now if they've done that to 100,000's of people. That's a serious amount and this is no small scale robbery.

I've been trying to retrieve the £500 that was in my V1.0 account since September but have had no response. I had written emails and left voice messages as instructed on the various parts of the website. I am starting to grow a little concerned for my money. ?

Useless company that sadly was once reliable. Used the company 4 years ago and no problems, but now they do not reply to emails, pick up the phone, or offer assistance. I had 400 pounds taken from my account after trying to remove cash from a atm, took 2 weeks before I was able to get my hands on it, including numerous emails and calls

Have been using we swap all year while in South Africa had numerous problems trying to withdraw from ATM's money taken off my card but no money dispensed! This happened a few times they were sorted out after a few weeks now i cannot load any money on my card from the 22nd October ! Given up with them card has been destroyed and have a got a Easyfx card sorry WESWAP you have lost all my Trust!!!

Just re-affirming all of the recent reviews, I used to use it a lot, but never again. No customer service, no communication, keep well clear.

Like many others, experience since upgrade to WeSwap 2.0 has been disaster. Tried to transfer money from my card to my UK bank account but was repeatedly denied because i needed to account for their fees. That should not have been an issue except that they did not publish their fees - the link in their help did not point to anything. Sent email for clarification but took nearly 2 months to finally get reply from customer service. Now i have fees, the “Send to Beneficiary” option is no longer available. Once i get my money transferred to uk account will be closing account. Useless system and terrible service.

A classic way to ruin what was a good business. Since the upgrade to Weswap2 the lack of customer service is astonishing. My only attempted payment was declined so I have been trying to close the account and recover my money. Despite numerous emails and phone calls I have received no reply at all. They don't deserve one star.

What has happened, I have used weswap for a number of years and been happy, now there is no customer service whatsoever, thank heavens I am not away. Have been trying to activate my 2 card over the last 3 months cant access my account, numerous attempts to contact via emails, going in circles, latest email they sent today was the email I sent them, rubbish.
I have now gone with another card, i would suggest to anybody to do the same. I cannot be the only one.

This used to be a great service. Worked well, clear fees, no problem with using card abroad. Since the upgrade to 2.0 there have been nothing but problems. Card denied when abroad, a rogue £70 fee charged, no customer service, confused messaging. Avoid at all costs!!!

Unable to load card since 22nd no reason given or when will be sorted are they going bust i ask myself

You couldn't make this up....WeSwap flagged my review for including the name of a company that actually assisted me in getting my money back (see below)!!

I tried to withdraw some money on my WeSwap V2 card last Saturday, four times. It was declined each time. My card was not locked and I had over £500 on it.

After having researched on Twitter, a gentleman very kindly recommended I do the following, and I can confirm I now have managed to retrieve all my money.

I opened a XXXXXXX account (see the app store).
Once done, I was able to pay money into this XXXXXX account from my WeSwap V2 card.

I tried a small amount at first £150. After which XXXXX asked me to verify my WeSwap card. I did this by following their instructions and scanning my Weswap card with the XXXXX app. After around 20 mins and my card was verified, I was then able to transfer over the remaining amount.

From XXXXX , you can then transfer this money to your personal bank, by adding your debit card details and transferring it that way. I have not done this, as I intend to use XXXXXX as my travel account (you can transfer to different currencies).

Also, a bit of a bonus....because my husband was so impressed, he also downloaded the XXXXX app as a means to manage all his accounts.

Because I sent him the referral code, and we both spend some funds within a few days, I received a £50 bonus, paid straight into XXXXXX. Made up for the ridiculous WeSwap exchange fee I was charged for transferring my euros back to sterling in order to try and use the ATM.

Good luck! We Swap are blimming useless. Although, they did respond to a direct FB message I sent them after a couple of days. Not much use after I managed to get my money back.

When I first used We Swap, 3 years ago, everything seemed fine. Bit of trouble using a Spanish cash machine but nothing I couldn't fix with a quick webchat.

Since they moved to WeSwap 2.0, it has been a disaster. I can't transfer the monies out of my account as the Add a Beneficiary page does not work.

I changed my address, all docs verified via app, helpful, until you realise for some reason they have retained your old pos code. Can't get them to change it. Can't order new card, can't order replacement card.

I've asked the FOUR times to closed my account, keep the money because it's been months on hassle. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Use Starling Bank instead, really easy set up, all on an app, and no transactions fees for any spend abroad.

We swap changed card suppliers, i followed all instructions and the money on my old card should have transferred in 3-5 days actually took almost 2weeks following many phone calls and emails. The money transferred the same day as I went away so had no time to read up on new instructions. I swapped some £ for € then card was declined in a shop and at an ATM. Thankfully had my UK debit card to use. When I arrived back we changed the €back to £ and lost on the exchange rate. I have phoned and sent more emails all have gone unanswered! I have tonight managed to withdraw my balance as the transfer to bank account option does not work and looks like it has been removed - further money charged in withdrawal fees. I will NEVER use this cowboy outfit again. Customer service ??? There isn’t any !!! SHOCKINGLY BAD

Terrible service . Got a new card . Loaded money £500 and changed up for my holiday to Turkish lira . And can’t get access to money and can’t use contactless . No atm would accept and no machines . Have sent numerous emails and left voicemail as instructed . Have asked for refund of funds and close the account . Who do I go to next to get my money back . Worse customer service ever !

No possibility to log in to my We Swap account so therefore no access to my money left on card. Card not working in cash machine so cannot be withdrawn. Send emails but no response. As we can see almost all of the customers have been cheated and robbed!
