Medication price switch at rite aid
I have 3 regular medications 1 of those "Albuterol Sulfate" was given to me through a price lookup tool was $12.73 for 100 3ml vials, except that when I went to pick them up I was told by the pharmacist, the lowest he could go was $25.78 for that same amount. Almost doubling my out of pocket price at the register. This is problematic for someone on a fixed income.
The other 2 medications were $3 to $5 more thanthey were on another script save app, but the pharmacy didnt want to have to reprocess the others without making me wait another 20 tp 30 minutes to pick them up and I didn't have the ability to wait with my uber, Needless to say, i left with a bad taste in my mouth over the whole transaction.

If you're refilling any of those meds next month, having a quick read of the "Hints/Tips" guide that's published at the link pasted below might help ensure you don't encounter similar hiccups. We wrote this guide to help ensure our members don't get that "bad taste in their month" that you referenced. In fact, the very first sentence outlines precisely the issue that you described.
Such is the importance of the info in this article, and the importance we place on helping to ensure our members get the best experience possible (even though we're basically a free "no-harm, no-foul" program), that we send this out to everyone who signs up for the program. That said, we certainly realize that many folks always read such emails (so no hard feelings).

Most folks don't realize quite how volatile prescription prices really are. For those fortunate enough to have insurance, there's a degree of stability that patients experience in the sense that their copays are often fixed for the plan-year. However, cash-paying patients get to experience the full effects of changing prices as-and-when they occur (and they can occur very frequently).
The good news is that prices come down as well as going up. In some regards, it's similar to what you see at the gas station - i.e. the exact same product, being sold by very similar stores that are often across the street from each other, with prices that swing up-and-down with little notice (while not always being mirrored by all vendors in the same town at the same time).
To that end, you may want to use the ScriptSave WellRx price-check tool to set up a free 'price-drop alert' (which will mean that we'll automatically ping you if we manage to negotiate a new/better price for your drug at any time).
We hope to earn an upgrade to a 5-star rating from you soon!
GoodRx is a better choice for the prescriptions I have
I am getting fabulous discounts with GoodRx. WellRx prices are almost as much as my co-pay through insurance.

One thing to keep in mind (and perhaps double-check) when you use the free price-check tool on the wellrx.com website is to ensure you click the "Modify Search" button on the results screen. Doing so will allow you to manually adjust the parameters for the medication strength, quantity, etc.
Not only will this ensure you see the correct price for your exact prescription, it will also provide a far more accurate basis for comparing prices.
We hope we'll be able to earn a higher/revised score from you soon!

We truly appreciate that you took the time to submit your comment on this particular subject, Greg. We receive regular feedback from patients with Medicare who mistakenly believe they can't use ScriptSave WellRx because their Part D plan prevents them from doing so. As such, comments like yours can really go a long way in helping to educate patients that this is not strictly true.
As you know, if an insured patient (including a Medicare patient) wishes to get a second opinion on their out-of-pocket prescription cost, they can certainly use the free tools on the ScriptSave WellRx website to do so. If the discounted cash-prices that we have negotiated are lower than their insurance/Medicare copay, each patient is quite within their rights to choose our program over their healthplan if they perceive that to be the best way to proceed. i.e. just because a patient has Medicare, does not mean they must use it for every transaction. If ScriptSave WellRx is able to deliver a lower out-of-pocket cost, a Medicare patient can use our free cash-savings program instead of their Medicare benefit.
Saved us money
So glad to have this for prescriptions. It was easy to use and saved us money on our medication. Definitely recommend this site.

First time using ScriptSave WellRx
I'm on Medicare Part D and they refused to cover a chronic med that my private insurance had covered for over three years. When I checked on out of pocket price, it was about $300 for a 90 day supply. I stumbled on ScriptSave from a Google search, and at first didn't believe it. It brought up the pharmacy with the best price with the ScriptSave card and I got my 90 day supply for $29.10! Yes, it does work, but the price with the card varies widely from pharmacy to pharmacy.
