I do not recommend renting a car from this company, as I found them to be unreliable.

My flight was delayed, even though I had provided my flight details so the company could track the delay. I was scheduled to pick up the car at 18:00, but due to the delayed flight, I arrived at 19:30. Despite having submitted my flight information in advance, the company charged me an additional €50 for collecting the car at 19:30.

When I arrived at my hotel, I noticed a small scratch underneath the door handle. The company refused to listen to my explanation, claimed that I had caused the damage, and charged me €259.

In addition, a warning light came on indicating that the AdBlue fluid needed to be refilled. Their customer service instructed me to purchase it at a petrol station and submit the invoice for reimbursement. I did exactly that and sent them the receipt I was given, but they claimed it was not a valid invoice and refused to reimburse me.

I am extremely disappointed with their service. I strongly advise others to avoid this company, and I will never rent a car from them again.

Ordered a rental for a Skoda Kamiq as I wanted to impress my teenagers at the start of the holiday - was provided with a Ford Tourneo which was like a mini van converted to a car - absolutely not what I requested and more to the point left fuming I wasn't given the keys to a Skoda Kamiq parked next to it
Customer service was appalling simply advising it's the same class? How is a MPV the same as a SUV and offered to have a smaller car as an alternative and wouldn't provide any like for like options simply stuck to terms and conditions and didn't help at all other than say I could have an auto Skoda Kamiq for €250 more as a sales ploy. Disgusted with their attitude and management of this issue - they need to understand better a car on holiday is a life event for some not just an option to get from A to B - also had to sign the waiver at the airport without seeing the car and no one was at the car drop off point to return the car - just poor poor service from the start to the end

SCAMMERS ! NEVER Rent from this company and AVOID with all means. This company will always give you a car with damages and will claim the same damages multiple times. This is their business SCAM model. The rent cheap, but afterwards the will bust your credit card !

The car I received had so many damages that it looked like its from the MAD MAX movie. It was with half full tank and there was not enough engine oil. Probably another trick, so you damage the engine...

I have rented cars from Viaggiare Rent several times before, including at Rome Fiumicino, Catania and Lamezia Terme, always using the same physical Revolut Visa credit card for the security deposit without any issues.

Before making this reservation, I even contacted the reservation office to ask whether my card would be accepted. Their reply only listed the general card requirements (physical Visa/Mastercard/Amex credit card, cardholder’s name, etc.) and never mentioned that Revolut cards were not accepted.

However, at the Bergamo Airport branch I was told that my Revolut credit card could not be used for the €900 security deposit. I showed the employee my previous rental history with Viaggiare, previous deposits made with the same card, and the email correspondence with their reservation office. His response was simply:

“This is Bergamo, not Rome.”

I was then forced to purchase expensive full insurance because they refused to accept my card for the deposit.

The most surprising part is that they still used the very same card to make a €1 authorization. If the card was supposedly unacceptable, why was it accepted for authorization?

After the rental I carefully reviewed Viaggiare’s General Terms & Conditions and Special Rental Conditions. Nowhere do they state that Revolut credit cards are excluded. I asked the company to indicate the clause that supports their decision, but they never did. Instead, they claimed it was an internal procedure, even though it is not disclosed in their published rental conditions.

I also contacted several other major car rental companies in Italy. Europcar confirmed in writing that Revolut cards are accepted, and RentalPlus also confirmed acceptance. This makes Viaggiare’s position even more difficult to understand.

To make matters worse, after I pointed out these inconsistencies and asked again where their published terms exclude Revolut cards, they simply stopped responding.

This experience was especially disappointing because it happened during my honeymoon. I have been a loyal customer of Viaggiare for years, but instead of being treated fairly, I was forced to pay for unnecessary insurance due to an unpublished internal rule that contradicts both my previous rentals and their own published terms.

I cannot recommend a company that applies different rules depending on the branch and refuses to explain decisions that are not supported by its own Terms & Conditions. Transparency and consistency are essential in the car rental business, and unfortunately, my experience with Viaggiare in Bergamo showed neither.

I wouldn’t recommend this car hire company.
They don’t accept certain credit cards.
They charge extra fees.
The lady at the office was very rude.
They brazenly cancelled my booking and my sister’s, even though she hadn’t asked them to. The booking was made through DiscoverCars. Give them a wide berth.

We booked a car with this rental company through a broker. At the time of booking, our exact flight arrival time wasn’t finalized, but we were scheduled to land around noon. Unfortunately, our flight was slightly delayed, and we then faced a massive queue exiting airport security due to the UK and Non-EU passport regulations. By the time we made it to the desk, we were two hours late.

Unhelpful and Ignorant Desk Staff
The woman working at the desk immediately informed us that our booking was completely gone because we were two hours late, and that we would have to make a brand-new booking either with them or someone else. She kept repeating that we were supposed to call them over the phone to inform them of the late arrival. I tried to explain to her that we obviously couldn’t make a phone call while we were thousands of feet in the air on a flight, but she was incredibly ignorant, dismissive, and entirely unhelpful.

Zero Cooperation
I contacted our broker to get the situation resolved on the spot. When the broker tried to speak with her, she flat-out refused to talk to them, stating they had to call her company's head office directly. We tried calling the head office, but there was absolutely no answer.

To top it off, I asked her if the car we originally booked was still available. It was sitting right there, but she refused to give it to us under our original terms. Instead, she smugly told us we could rent it directly through them right now, but for three times the original price.

System Delays and Unprofessional Behaviour
Refusing to be ripped off, we had no choice but to rebook a new reservation through our broker. Because of their system delays, we had to wait around for three hours. When the paperwork finally went through, we ended up with the exact same car and had to deal with the exact same agent.

Unbelievably, once she got the new booking, her mood completely changed. She became overly chatty and even pointed out another couple with two children at the counter, gossiping to us that they were also having major difficulties with their booking as if it were a joke.

The car itself was perfectly fine, but the customer service was shocking. Avoid this company if you want a stress-free trip.

We had some trouble at check-in with card expiring soon (totally our fault). The young guy at the desk was a complete professional for the whole check-in process, spoke great English and was patient while we caused a queue behind us and got ourselves sorted.

The car was great and returning was pretty straightforward.

Miriam at Bergamo Airport was most helpful. We had a small hiccup with credit card not in lead drivers name. She helped us sort this.

"A Nightmare Experience - Predatory Practices!"

Avoid Viaggiare Rent at Bergamo. They gave me a filthy car so I couldn't even check for scratches. The fuel policy is a joke (3/4 tank), making it impossible to refill accurately.

But the worst part: I arrived at the booth on time, but it was empty. The manager finally showed up, ignored the queue, and then charged me a €30 late fee for being ONE MINUTE LATE (18:30 instead of 18:29).

My 5-day rental was €57, and they charged €30 for 1 minute! They also refused to give me a fiscal receipt. This is a tourist trap. Stay away!

Wir haben bei Viaggiare Rent ein Auto für 5 Tage gemietet und waren insgesamt zufrieden. Der Preis war sehr attraktiv. Das Büro befindet sich zwar direkt am Flughafen, jedoch muss man zur Fahrzeugabholung trotzdem mit einem Shuttlebus zum Parkplatz 3 fahren, wo sich auch alle anderen Autovermieter befinden. Daher lohnt es sich aus unserer Sicht nicht, extra zu bezahlen, nur um „direkt am Flughafen“ zu buchen – am Ende fahren alle mit dem gleichen Bus weiter.
Bei der Abholung mussten wir nur etwa 5 Minuten auf den Shuttle warten, und es waren ungefähr 10 Personen im Bus. Bei der Rückgabe hingegen haben wir etwa 15 Minuten gewartet, und der Bus war komplett voll – viele standen mit Koffern im Gang, was etwas unangenehm war.
Das Auto selbst war sauber und in gutem Zustand. Bereits vorhandene Schäden waren dokumentiert. Wir haben noch eine zusätzliche kleine Delle entdeckt, diese dem Mitarbeiter gezeigt und einfach ein Foto gemacht und eingeschickt – es gab keinerlei Probleme.
Ein kleiner Minuspunkt war die Situation mit den Winterreifen: Wir sind am 23. März angekommen, und uns wurde vor Ort mitgeteilt, dass in Norditalien bis zum 15. April Winterreifen oder Schneeketten vorgeschrieben sind. Bei der Buchung gab es dazu keinen Hinweis, daher waren wir überrascht. Uns wurde sehr nachdrücklich angeboten, Winterreifen für 25 € pro Tag zu nehmen, was den Mietpreis extrem erhöht hätte. Alternativ hätten wir Schneeketten nehmen können. Da wir darauf nicht vorbereitet waren, haben wir beides abgelehnt und mussten eine entsprechende Verzichtserklärung unterschreiben. Kaution wurde erst nach 4 Wochen zurückerstattet.
Positiv war jedoch, dass uns keine zusätzlichen Versicherungen aufgedrängt wurden.
Insgesamt waren wir mit dem Auto und dem Service zufrieden. Für das nächste Mal wissen wir nun über die Regelung mit den Winterreifen Bescheid und würden wahrscheinlich zumindest Schneeketten in Betracht ziehen.
Vielen Dank – wir würden wieder buchen.

Me parece una barbaridad que prefieran perder un cliente que conciliar con una multa o un reembolso parcial o bien utilizar el monto como crédito para una nueva reserva. Llegamos media hora tarde a recoger el auto que habíamos reservado y pagado y no quisieron hacer ningún tipo de arreglo simplemente se dejaron el dinero y no entregaron el carro.

I'd like to start by saying, they're not bad, and they're prob one of the better Italian rental companies. At least in my experience.
But there's a few random things that let them down, so a 3 is fair.
- snow chains. Every other company I've used includes these at booking. Not here. An extra 2/3 euros a day for them when you arrive. Ridiculous.
- return at Bergamo. 4pm....they all disappear. Noone at the rental desk in the car park. No instructions either, I had to go out on a limb while heading for a flight and guess that I should take the key back to the desk in the terminal as no drop box.
- different amounts charged as to what was booked through discover cars app. 20euro difference. Most likely just those stupid chains.
- car, dented and heavily scratched all over on every panel.

As I said, small things, but they detract from the enjoyment of the overall experience.

The people were really nice, exceptionally helpful. No issues with condition or cleanliness of the car upon return (although I did get warned to make sure it was clean when returned). Despite extra charges, still cheap enough.

Would I use them again, quite probably as some of the other companies are way way worse.

Multiple hidden charges which doubled rental cost. Hire car much smaller than advertised. Pick up not in terminal as advertised.

Apres avoir réservé et payé une location de voiture en ligne, ce loueur n'a jamais voulu nous donné la voiture car le permis de conduire a été jugé trop vieux et abîmé. Toutes les données sur le permis étaient lisibles et la preuve en est car vu que ce loueur nous a refusé nous avons du loueur une autre voiture et là nous n'avons rencontré aucun problème avec le permis de conduire. Ce loueur n'a à aucun moment cherché une solution pour nous aider. Vraiment c'était une tres mauvaise expérience.

Questa agenzia ci ha letteralmente salvato dopo che un'altro desk (più famoso e blasonato) ci aveva detto che la nostra auto pagata e prenotata non c'era perché non avevano più mezzi. Viaggiare Rent più precisamente Miriam, nel giro di dieci minuti ci ha trovato la soluzione ideal ad un costo competitivo e con tutte le varie forme di garanzia incluse. Deposito cauzionale molto basso.

Consigliamo vivamente l’agenzia Viaggiare a Bergamo. A causa di un problema dell’ultimo minuto con un’altra prenotazione, ci siamo ritrovati senza macchina, ma qui abbiamo trovato grande disponibilità e professionalità.

J'avais réservé sur leur site internet un véhicule pour Bergame avec assurance omnium complète et arrivé sur place ils ont essayé de me vendre LEUR assurance c'est-à-dire que quand vous réservez la voiture sur internet c'est une autre société qui vous vend l'assurance. Si vous avez un souci sur place la société Viaggiare vous facture le montant et ensuite c'est à vous d'essayer de récupérer le montant via l'assurance que vous avez souscrit. Bon courage... Ils vous font signer la réception du véhicule sur un écran tactile et vous ne voyez donc pas ce que vous signez car le contrat vous est envoyé après sur votre adresse email donc trop tard... Lors de la restitution du véhicule il n'y a personne pour faire l'état des lieux. Vous devez simplement déposer la clé dans une boîte aux lettres et donc vous ne serez pas présent pour faire l'état des lieux avec le responsable et là aussi ils pourront vous facturer des frais imaginaires... Ils conservent vos données de carte bancaire et, pour en avoir été là victime, ils vous facturent 4 mois après avoir fait votre voyage, des sois-disants frais de dossier pour la réception et le traitement d'une amende. Amende que je n'ai jamais reçue chez moi... Total : 85,40€... 🤬🤬🤬🤬
