I just completed a home purchase with Severine at Vesper and my mother completed a sale with her this past October. Both of us have been extremely happy with the services she provided and feel lucky to have found such a capable broker, who also happens to be such a kind and lovely person to be around. The process of buying property in a foreign country can be intimidating. and I'm not sure I would have had the nerve to go through with it if not for having seen how much support my mother received with her transaction. Even with a 9 hour time difference, Severine was available and responsive when questions about the sale came up. From the very first steps, we were given so much helpful advice and were able to rely on her extensive contacts with local service providers. As a person who doesn't speak French, it was immensely valuable to have Severine there to help with all aspects of purchasing property -- even after the sale was complete. From setting up bank accounts, insurance and utilities, to navigating the unfamiliar French laws around operating a property as a vacation rental, and even where to buy a quality used car from a trustworthy dealer, we were always able to depend on Severine's help and cheerful can-do spirit. She has even gone out to our properties to meet with contractors when we were not able to be there, months after the sale had closed. We feel like we've not only made an important business contact, but have also made a new friend in Carcassonne. Honestly, we can't recommend her highly enough and are so happy to be new property owners in France!

Vesper, led by Severine, are truly a first class professional organization. They are far more than an Estate Agent.

A little known part of the French property process is that an Estate Agent can act as your agent for any other Real Estate agency.

They search and and will also make inquiries for any property you see or they see. this means they act on your behalf and do it far beyond what you might expect.

The team hold your hand through the entire process - finding, searching, offers, agreements, finding the right Notaire, translating, attending meetings, finding builders, money exchange, insurance (re-assurance!) advice, guidance, even registering the utilities alongside us - everything you could think of to make this all work as smoothly as possible.

A Severine said to us many times "it is what we do".

Go here first, you won't regret it. We just could not have done this without her and the team, we will always be thankful for all they did to make our dream come true.

Since then, we have used this company for consulting services regarding property purchase, investment and estate planning strategies when considering a property purchase. When you decide to buy a home in France you are vaguely aware that it ain't gonna be that simple! First, there's the problem of estate agencies. They do play hard to get most times and rarely keep up with their own records so that fabulous little house you like on their website got sold 18 months ago. If by chance,it is still available you might be able to see it in two weeks on Tuesday at 4.47pm. If the wind is in the right direction that is... exhausting.
That was the first hurdle that Vesper helped us with. Carrie who works for Vesper is the ultimate patience figure but in a dogged and determined fashion. Soft spoken and ready to help at any time, Carrie doesn't really accept NO from agents! Thanks to her in about 7 days we saw 8 properties and found the place of our dreams in one visit in April this year.
Next comes the fun rounds of offers, money transfers, notaires etc... alone it would be almost impossible to manage.
This is when again Vesper is second to none. Severine, the head of Vesper is AMAZING. Her knowledge of anything legalese, French/English, her pointers and most importantly the links given to do EVERYTHING needed correctly are of huge value. Better still all that help costs nothing to the buyer as Vesper splits the commission with the agency. Worth noting that almost all agencies work with Vesper so you don't just get to choose what they have. As a matter of fact, my wife is a keen researcher and we saw the properties we wanted to see though I have no doubt on our own we probably would have seen half.
Vesper is more than an in between for UK or US customers, it is a safety net. If anything is a bit wrong, Severine will see it. At our last meet at notaire it was Severine who saw an error that got us 900 euros back.
I can't emphasise enough how great Vesper is. Every inch of the way, every question answered, every step followed. And at the end of it all, you think of the team as friends. Can't say better than that!
