Denholm was a such a helpful sales person he was calm and supportive the whole way through I was hesitant going on my own to see a car from a dealership but Denholm helped me from start to finish with finding the best car for me. I can’t thank him enough.

Sales Man Ian Farmery was brilliant from start to finish it was my daughters first time buying her first car and he was so helpful very relaxed and professional with her and us as parents its something you worry about when they are young buying a car and making sure everything is correct, Ian explained it all to ruby and us nothing was to much trouble for him. BMW owners ourselves and now the daughter also has one we will certainly use this branch again happy to travel as the experience was great. I would highly recommend this company and Ian as a sale man who is did everything he promised and it was all ready on time we couldn't of asked for any more. Thank you for going that extra mile and making the experience you explained the controls of the car and talked her through it all.

I took my car in after being damaged by another party. Jaz on the front desk was a pleasure to deal with.The repair took longer due to a staff member injuring themselves but was no problem. I was able to keep my loan car for longer. On contacting Jaz she updated me on the repair- a very friendly efficient young lady.

I used Vertu Motors BMW in York for my D3 Alpina MOT, the Lady on the front desk was so helpful and a lovely lady called Sophie made me very welcome, the Lads doing the MOT did a couple of jobs to help it get through the MOT so thanks for that, my car is going back for a service because of the way i was treated.

Picked up my used BMW i3 from Vertu York on 8th May and very pleased with the service from the sales man. Driving home the radio was crackling and cutting in and out on arrival home noticed no Ariel it was missing minor issue but should have been picked up on pdi inspection. Checking the car lifted bonnet and it was absolutely filthy even mud near windscreen wiper maybe I should have checked the car before driving it away my fault. Also granny charger was missing but it’s a used car and it did have a charging cable in boot so again minor issue. Paid for guard x no sign of it car had lots of scratches and was dirty round number plate at rear and the bottom of car dirty for a car that’s just been treated and cleaned not good and no sign of protection the drivers seat had stain which as slowly got worse. For an approved used car I would have expected better preparation from a main dealer. Had the car a while now not one telephone call to see if the car was ok so I probably would not recommend Vertu York BMW to my friends or family.

I have bought 4 cars from Vertu motors in old Harlow the service is always impeccable. The sales team are well informed and always very respectful. This time I was looked after by Dean Wedge who I would be more than happy to recommend to anyone. He was exceptionally helpful and clearly knows his subject well.

Unfortunately I bought a second hand car which was 6 months old. Picked the car up when it was dark and in good faith didn't check the day after .... Having since checked, I have noticed the alloys are scuffed on the back inside tyre/alloy. Check everything and don't trust their "word", no matter how nice the sales people are.

Purchased a bmw x5 from new within a month went in for warranty due to a leaking sunroof….. has never been properly resolved and at 3 years old still having issues. Contacted vertu numerous times said they would call back and still waiting is this how they treat long term customers. Won’t be purchasing a new bmw from here on

Great communication and service throughout. Ian F went above and beyond during my M3 purchase, and his colleagues were all great too.
I couldn’t fault anyone so it’s a big 5 stars from me and would highly recommend anyone give them a try!

I bought a used BMW X1 for over £19,000 from Vertu VW Leeds, the Salesman Liam was good and the Car was great ( for 1 Day ! ) on day 2 the service warning light came on saying a visual inspection was overdue by 450 miles, then an amber engine warning light came on and the Car lost power
I contacted Vertu Leeds, and we agreed that it would be better to get the Car to Vertu BMW York, as they have more knowledge on BMWs and as I Live in Scarborough it was a fair bit closer.
I was told they couldn’t look at it until the 28th October, because they were so busy, but if it was towed in by The AA
It would be looked at sooner, and the AA might even be able to Fix it
The AA called and did some diagnostic checks, and it turned out to be a fault on the automatic gearbox, which they were unable to fix
It was towed in on Wed 18, Jade at York rang me and said they were busy but
A technician would look at it on the Saturday and she would let me know on Monday
By Wednesday I still had not heard anything and couldn’t get through to them, and realising that I might not see the Car again for a very long Time I decided to ask for a Refund which is available within 14 days of purchase if you have done less than 450 miles
I emailed Leeds to let them know of my intentions but they did not reply
I waited another day and in the Afternoon I decided to send another email saying I would be writing to there Directors about the way it had all been handled, amazingly, within 15 minutes they responded and Liam said he had spoken to his Sales Manager the Day before and couldn’t understand why he had not contacted me
I went to Leeds to return the V 5 and spare Key, and was told I would get the Money by the end of the Day
It didn’t arrive, so spoke to the sales manager the next Day who said they needed the v5 details from my part ex which had been sent to Auction before I could get a refund, it was sent through later in the Afternoon
On talking to him he said that he had tried to ring York to see what was happening to my Car but could not get through to them, fair enough but nobody Told me anything from Leeds or York what was happening with the Car
Bizarrely I even had a text from BMW Exeter saying my Car was booked in for the 28th October!
My part ex which had been totally reliable, but had 94,000 miles on had already gone to Auction, so I am now looking for a Car
I realise that a Car can have faults without the Dealer realising, but there appeared to be no sense of urgency by Vertu VW Leeds or Vertu York to get me back on the road, or offered me a Loan Car especially as I had only owned it for 2 days, i never did get to know what was wrong with the Car as BMW York never got back to me
There was a total lack of communication between both Garages, and despite Leeds knowing the plight of my Car never helped to sort it out with York BMW

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Harry at York BMW. We’ve just got back from looking at a car that we ended up buying. The whole experience was perfect. The car was clean, fuelled and ready to go outside. Harry was ready to meet us after being helpful all week and answering the many emails I sent.
We went on a great test drive, a mixture of roads and speed limits.
10/10 for Harry, highly recommend him if you’re buying from York BMW

We started our MINI journey with slightly disappointing experience at another local mini from a different group. As soon as we went to York and spoke with Becky and Rachel we knew we were in good hands. Becky made the entire sales process smooth and easy, we honestly couldn’t be happier. We went for the new countryman, she kept us updated with the launch date, delivery and any knowledge before collection! The collection process was smooth and easy and we drove away happy.

We did have a fault with the car from factory, but the guys at Vertu Mini York couldn’t have done more. Lucy, Rachel, Holly & Sarah dealt with it really well, what could have been a bit of a nightmare was really well handled and sorted as quick as they could.

I would happily recommend the dealership to anyone! We’ll be using Vertu Mini for all our service & new car needs.

Having just read the comprehensive rundown on plummeting customer service across every sector of the UK economy - in last weekend's FT (as measured by the Institute of Customer Service in London) - it was encouraging to witness an excellent experience from the friendly team in York.

Was told at time of booking and at check-in that the MOT and complimentary clean would take 2 hrs which enabled me to plan the time accordingly. Then at the end was emailed a video showing some of the checks performed by Nick, the service technician. All very professional and informative so well done to all concerned.

We were unfortunate to break down with our Mini clubman and had to be towed in by a rescue company the service staff at York were fantastic sorting parts and getting us up and running in a few days we didn’t buy our Mini from this dealership but it wasn’t an issue and can I just say a BIG thank you to all the service staff including the technician well done 👍

Ben at Vertu, York was extremely helpful and informative. It was our first “off the shelf “ car we have ever owned and the experience at Vertu was exceptional.
There was a long wait ( not the fault of Vertu), but I was kept informed and whenever we had a question, and we had a few! the response was quick and never too much trouble.
I’ll definitely buy from Vertu again.

Advertising for cheaper price, higher price in reality and fake reply for my enquiry.

I ordered a new BMW 330e from Vertu in York at the start of February 2023.

They gave me an estimated delivery date of 1st June in writing and verbally. That was already quite a long time to wait for a car but when that date arrived they said that the delivery time had changed to mid-September! If I had been given that date in February, I would not have ordered the car. However, I reluctantly accepted the change.

In early September, I contacted Vertu and they told me that my car was on a ship from Mexico, where they are manufactured and they would contact me when it arrived in the UK.

They missed their mid-September delivery date. They didn't contact me to apologise - I had to contact them. Now they said that the car was still in Mexico and not on a ship! I envisaged my car in a dusty parking lot in the heat in Mexico. I asked them what the new delivery date was for the car and they said that they couldn't give a date!

At this point I had had enough of them, so I cancelled the car. I waited the best part of a year for a car that never came. Maybe BMW is partly to blame for manufacturing problems but I feel very disappointed with Vertu for not being honest about the delivery and changing the story about the car being on the ship.

I also didn't feel good about the people at Vertu. A couple of times I went to their showroom in York and there was nobody at reception and nobody came to greet me. There were people in their nearby service and sales departments who saw that I was waiting but did nothing and left me waiting about ten minutes each time.
