Utter disgrace of a hotel , staff talked down to me I have stayed all the world in far better places and never been spoken to like this ,, AVOID at all costs

Staff were great. Rooms were like something out of a 1940s horror movie. This hotel needs a serious makeover, the windows were rotten also. Parking wasnt very good either but the concierge took my keys snd found me a parking spot in the hotel grounds that evening which was good, the showers were over the bath. Do keep that in mind. Location is great for town and quay as the lift takes you down to the quay. Cant say i wouldnt go back as the locations great. Breakfast was 6/10.

The vermont hotel - What an absolute shambles of a hotel this is!!!Dated, dusty, filthy rooms. Pillows rock hard, duvet does not fit the cover, bed sheet did not fit the bed, bed springs sticking out the side of mattress. Stuck up receptionist and didn't care we was not happy with our stay. Was informed a manager would get in touch and still hasn't happened. Stayed in better b&b's.
£200 absolutely wasted
Emailed the hotel and messaged through Facebook and they have since blocked me - cracking customer service!!!

My daughter and i stayed here for 2 nights for my grandaughters wedding on 10/08/2023. Bar food on the 09/08/2023 was that bad ,overcooked and old ! Even the bar manager pulled a face when he noticed the brown slimey lettuce in the ceasar salad. Breakfast was overcooked with rubber sausages and cardboard bacon,and wad cold we warned all other guests to choose from the menu ,not the buffet style breakfast.We had to buy crisps as we were hungry. Never again will i visit this so called 5* hotel ,food was disgusting , trecks along dark corridors were too much for me. I had to make several phone calls and e mails to receive my deposit back.very bad stay in a very bad " showey" hotel. Never Again.

Unfortunately our experience with the Vermont was very poor. We held our wedding reception there. We had three different wedding coordinators in less than sixth months. A number of errors on the part of the Vermont made the event itself very stressful and upsetting. We complained and received a very brief and poor response. We asked for our complaint to be escalated, and although it was, the response was equally poor.
Our wedding reception was an experience we won’t forget, for all the wrong reasons - and there was zero accountability from the Vermont, despite their mistakes and the upset caused by the challenging behaviour of some of their staff. All I can say is I would not recommend it to anyone, and I certainly will not return.

Really disappointed. Took my wife here for her birthday. The staff were not trained properly.

After a poor nights sleep as so much noise. Went for breakfast to be told I’d only paid for 1 breakfast in a double room. They let us both eat.

To go outside to find a parking ticket on my car as that spot was pay and display. This was not explained when I checked in. I even gave my reg as thought it was included.

Not happy

Sorely disappointed. I had to pay a deposit and had to call three times and send an email to get the money back. They have 14 days for it. Never go here again.

Great hotel and location.
My wife and I stayed overnight at the Vermont, taking advantage of their “Stay & Dine” offer.
The hotel is located for easy access to both quayside & central Newcastle.
Our room was very comfortable and clean as was the rest of the hotel.
All the staff were very helpful, friendly, polite and professional. Upon arrival we were greeted by the concierge (sorry we didn’t get his name), who set the tone for the rest of the stay, being very friendly, polite and helpful.
Our evening meal in the Maven restaurant was excellent and portion sizes superb. Breakfast the following morning was also superb and all the restaurant staff on both occasions were superb.
Both myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was made even more special by the very attentive staff.
We would definitely stay at the Vermont again and would highly recommend to others.
The “Stay & Dine” offer affords both value for money and a great opportunity to spend a nice relaxing night away after the hustle and bustle of the Christmas / New Year period and the hotel should be commended for introducing the offer.

Realy enjoyed staying here lovely hotel lovely staff I would stay here again they took good care of our car, everything in the room was perfect had a great sleep also close by to everything 😍

Shambles!

Paid extra for a ‘Castle View’ room but windows were filthy and could hardly see out.

Promised I could park all day on checkout but then made to leave early.

Extra charges made to credit card after check-out. Received an email promising a refund but never received.

Find somewhere else to stay. They treat their customers with utter contempt.
