Veezu York -- Friday 31st July -- Absolutely appalling service!!

In York for a 3 day mini break I booked a taxi at 4.30pm for a 5.00pm pickup, giving the company 30 minutes notice. I had a table reservation at 5.15pm, so timing mattered. By 5.40pm the taxi still hadn't arrived but they managed to ping several car numbers over to me! No taxi, no proper communication, no concern whatsoever for the inconvenience they had caused.

This wasn't a minor delay, it was complete incompetence! Accepting a booking that you clearly have no intention or ability to fulfil is simply unacceptable. As a result, my restaurant reservation was ruined because Veedu York taxis couldn't provide the basic service they promised.

When I eventually spoke to them, I told them in no uncertain terms exactly how incompetent their service was. They had wasted my time, caused unnecessary stress and showed a complete lack of professionalism or respect for their customers.

If you need a taxi you can actually rely on avoid this company. Based on my experience, they're completely unreliable and would recommend other taxi services in York !!

Pre-booked a taxi 24 hours ahead. Sadly this company have taken all over all the local ones so we have no choice but to use them. Had to change around the booking earlier in the day to a later time and to reverse the journey, all confirmed. However, at the time they were supposed to collect us, they decided that they were going to stick to the original journey which was the wrong way round! We managed to get through to them and make sure they came to the address. Despite the error, no apologies made. The app then decided to cancel our order completely we therefore had to get back to them again. They then told us it was our fault (it wasn’t) by this time it was now 1130 for a taxi. When we said we had a child at home and this wasn’t Acceptable, they hung up on us. Eventually got through again and we were offered 12. At this point, we had no choice but to accept the offer. We therefore didn’t get home until far too late for our babysitter. This just highlights the problem of an organisation just using an offshore call Centre and relying on the app for everything. No margin for error and adapting to difficult circumstances the app doesn’t care that you’ve got children at home waiting. No flexibility whatsoever.

Really poor service - taxis never arrive on time despite pre booking well In advance - on several occasions I’ve tried to book specific vehicles 5 or 6 seaters for family with kids only to be told this can’t be guaranteed and may be 2 vehicles and 2 fares !!! Tried local independent company who were fantastic and provide the vehicle needed and arrived promptly. Shop around you’ll get better service.

Pre booked two taxis a week in advance for a corporate event. Called to see where they were and was told they were 75 minutes away which was unacceptable so I cancelled and booked two Ubers instead. More concerningly they have taken £45 payment from me and after 3 phone calls and a web form I’m struggling to get this refunded as they have no record of taking it despite me having the ‘receipt’, booking reference and credit card proof. AVOID!

Booked early afternoon to be picked up after an event late that evening ,so that we wouldn't have to stand around in the cold at night, especially with one of us being disabled. Waited almost an hour after our booked time and had to call them twice before we got a car. Their excuse was that it was a busy time of night, however the reason we booked ahead was to avoid having a wait and to ensure we got picked up straight away.
Absolutely dreadful company. Won't be using them again as there's no point booking.

Pre-booked taxi for ride home after wedding. Taxi was a no show. When I called they had no record of my booking.
Very poor since the member of staff for the booking took so many details it really felt like she knew what she was doing.

This operator constantly breaks the regulations governing Hackney Carriages and PVH operators. They state they are not responsible if a driver does not turn up, claiming the contract is between the passenger and driver-partner. Point 3 of the Hackney carriages and PVH Regulations states that when a taxi is booked via a PVH operator (Veezu) - as is legally required, then the contract is between the passenger and the OPERATOR, as it is the operator who sets the fare. Veezu are totally unreliable as a service provider (please note that the driver-partners are not employees of Veezu, so are totally innocent of the failures of this scraping the barrel operator

Needed safe taxi with room for my wheel chair to hospital appointment and return.picked up no problem,but left me at hospital with no way of getting back, as (Thier) payment system was declining cards..Again on another booking, the same left me at pick up as card system not working.Rang them twice explaining I am disabled ,1, fobbed off saying it was my cards fault ( it) wasn't,2 cut my call off.Notgood service was it,(but still charged me for the two bookings.

The driver was on time, in fact early. However, I got into taxi number 142 and the driver had clearly just had a cigarette in the car as it stunk of smoke. I had my toddler with me. This is unacceptable. At least check where your destination is going.

Veezu gets 2 stars because some drivers put an effort. Last driver was rude, telling me that I was responsible that he took me to the wrong place. He didn't even tried to rectify. He said "that's your problem ". He clearly knew what he did wrong and was trying to get away with it.
He should be not doing this job. Also during the whole trip he was on the phone.
I think it's time to change service.

This review is directed at Veezu management, not the drivers.

I have been using taxi services in Luton for many years, and I am not the type of customer who complains lightly. When a service works, I stay loyal. When something is wrong, I speak up — and the company needs to feel the backlash, not the employees who are doing their job professionally.

Around 20 months ago, I switched to Veezu because my previous taxi company failed me with a 30‑minute late pickup that caused me to miss an appointment. Veezu impressed me immediately: pickup times of 2–6 minutes, reliable drivers, polite, professional, and consistent. This is exactly why I stayed.

But recently, your internal systems have let both me and your drivers down.

Twice in one week, I selected my exact pickup point on the app, typed the precise location, and confirmed everything. Yet the driver was sent somewhere completely different. The driver then had to call me from another location, causing delays and making me late for important commitments — including a time‑critical call I needed to receive at the office.

Let me be absolutely clear:
This is not a driver issue.
Your drivers are excellent.
This is an internal software and dispatch issue.

Your app is not passing the correct pickup information to the driver. That is a system failure, and it affects your customers and your drivers. When your system sends drivers to the wrong location, the customer suffers, the driver suffers, and your reputation suffers.

I also want clarity on tipping. I have wanted to tip your drivers many times because they deserve it, but I genuinely do not know whether the driver actually receives the tip through the app. This needs to be transparent.

Veezu has strong potential and excellent drivers, but your internal systems must match the professionalism of the people representing your company on the road. Fix the app. Fix the dispatch communication. Make tipping transparent. Your drivers should not take the blame for internal failures.

I am not the average customer. When I see something wrong, I speak up — and I expect the company to act.

We had the most amazing driver both ways into Cambridge this evening. He was kind and courteous and very patient with my disability. My husband left a small bag in the car which was returned to us on our return. Wish he was our driver every time,

I book a taxi with Veezu operate he got wrong sent the driver to different place . The Veezu driver was so rude wen I told him he in the wrong place .This is disgusting behaviour from the Taxi driver. very unprofessional by the Veezu operator for getting place wrong when I had just booked it I’m not very impressed at all..

App says 8;90 app after journey says 9:30 no idea why as everything entered. Got out said give me a tenner £10 as if he was doing me a favour. Avoid use UBER. I will

Terrible service. Precooked my taxi the evening before giving 10 hrs notice to them. Driver shows up 25mins late and goes to the wrong location

Really poor. Will not use again. Booked ride from Bassmead Manor Barn for 23:30 and booking accepted and pre-payment done. No car, no communication and totally unhelpful telephone operator. Another couple in the same position. After nothing for 30 minutes after the booking time and driver still unallocated booked an uber. came quickly and no problem. Avoid Veezu if you don't want to be left in the middle of nowhere late at night.

Shocking, pre booked and never turnt up. Do not use.

My driver was Edward, a gentleman driving a blue Skoda booked to come at 9:30pm.
This guy arrived 10 minutes early before the allocated time and simply refused to wait at all.
I tried to explain the situation but Edward in all his grace simply refused to wait and then we were stuck with no driver to get home and had to wait 30 minutes to get a new ride.

Worst taxi service ever. Pre booked a cab in the morning. After waiting 15 mins called the company. And they said they had not been able to allocate a driver.
