I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. This company presents itself as a New Zealand-owned and operated business, but as other customers have noted, my hat was drop-shipped from China.

What I received was nothing like the advertised product—just a cheap, poorly made look-alike that wasn't even well constructed. The quality was so bad that I didn't even bother trying to return it; I simply dropped it in the bin. After reading all the reviews about them ignoring customer emails and calls, I wasn't going to waste my time chasing them for a refund.

Instead, I'm writing this review to warn others: do not buy from Urban Caps. Save your money and find a legitimate seller who actually stands behind their products.

Got tons of tracking emails, including one that claimed my cap had been delivered, which was rubbish! I sent them an email to their suggested address for any delivery problems, and it bounced back.
Don’t trust this crowd; they are scammers!

I had the impression I was buying from an NZ seller, but the caps were shipped from China. Very poor quality, thin materials, shapeless and cheap looking. Avoid!

Zero stars. Avoid this merchant like the plague. Promised fast shipping. 4 days later item hasn't been shipped. Asked for refund and to cancel order and get lied to saying it's been shipped and is expected in 6 days!!!! Items sent arrive the next day so they bullshit and lie. Very dishonest. Bad customer service.

Yep!!! Cheap rubbish. If the cap comes faulty....example - faulty stitching, you get no response!!!! Service is non existent when there is an issue. Do yourself a favour and find the same product on Temu or Shein and pay the price it is worth!!! These guys are a scam!!!!!

Rubbish. Temu style packaging, complicated ordering. Total rip off.

Feel so ripped off. Thought I was buying my husband a nice NZ made Cap. Delivery was very slow( mainly because it came from China!) Cap looks nice but it is 50% polyester( not wool as implied in advertisements). And it us Chinese not New Zealand supply. Would not buy from them again.

Bought the news boy cap and it was a cheap temu one not happy at all do not waste your money on these, nothing like advertising

Hat was delivered in a cheap Temu package it was flat and bent. Hat is to small not same size as described $44 for a crapy Temu hat. Don’t buy

I bought a charleroy pork pie hat
The advert clearly stated a 60/40 wool cotton blend hat
On arrival tag in the hat says 100% polyester Made in China

Delivery and tracking was good though

Tracking doesn’t give any indication for 2 weeks after payment. I’m only in Australia not the end of the world.
2x notes on where my hat ie totally ignored.
Waiting on receipt of this order before ordering more.
Pains me to think I’ve been scammed by a neighbouring Kiwi.
After posting this review and making further efforts to make contact my hat finally arrived from somewhere?
Poor quality expected NZ quality this came from unknown country and was ordinary.Dissapointing when I know N Z can produce and source great products for a cooler climate.

I’m honestly surprised to see some negative comments, because my experience with Urban Caps has been very positive. They clearly explain which products are stocked in their New Zealand warehouse for faster dispatch, and which items come from their other trusted warehouses. That transparency is something I really appreciate.

The quality of the caps I ordered was excellent, and I received real-time tracking updates so I always knew where my parcel was. Everything arrived as expected.

I also had questions about sizing and measurements before ordering, and their customer service team replied quickly and helpfully. They were professional and easy to deal with.

If you’re unsure about ordering, I’d definitely recommend reaching out to their support team first… they’re very responsive. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and would gladly order again.

Love the 3 hats I got . People come up to talk about what ever hat I have on. Extremely well made hats recommended to everyone

I would give zero stars to this highly unprofessional business if I could. Happy to take your hard earned money but ghost you if there are any issues. Don't back up their faulty, poor quality products and has been the worst service I have ever experienced. Would NEVER recommend these cowboys or their shoddy hats. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Paid for a hat that they did not have in stock. Couldn’t fulfil the order but am yet to receive word of a refund. Wouldn’t bother with this lot. Nice hats but lousy service.

Doesn't even deserve a single star!
They sent a completely different cap than the one shown in the product pictures! Cheap CHINA GARBAGE 🙄 and it arrived completely crumpled in a bag that was way too small 🤦🏻‍♂️
You wait in vain for answers...

Luckily, PayPal refunded my money immediately

I ordered a Navy Blue wooden cheesecutter flat cap from this store.
They ended up sending me the coffee brim grey version of the hat.
I emailed them immediately to let them know of the mistake and to ask if I can please return the hat and have the correct one sent. I also included a photo of the one that I received to prove that they sent the wrong item.
Despite this it has now been one month since my first email about the issue and they continue to completely ignore me.
I would give them 1 star, since it is what they deserve. However, they did send me a hat, and it is the right style, just the wrong colour.
So I upgraded them to a 2 stars. Which even with the incorrect item being sent, if they had rectified the situation I would have given them 5 stars for it.
