using the paid subscription for more than 2 years. zero issues with backup/restore function.
Same story than people before
Same story than people before. I backed up, thinking everything was fine. I bought tokens to get my files to their cloud. Then, when it was time to restore. No way to restore. Then, I risk to get a duplicate penalty on the internet because Updraft has created a clone of my website. I thought their cloud was made to facilitate the migration to another server. I was wrong.
Avoid NOTHING like the reviews, don't wait till you need to restore
I went with this company due to the huge following. WOW was I surprised at when all I wanted to do was “Restore” which is probably everyone’s reason for this plugin.
The problem is backing up like all the other programs is brainless easy.
Once you pay and in my case for a 5 site program and I invested in the token scam buying into that to clone.
Worse when you buy you can’t even upload the super bloated 4 gigabyte program most of which you never use. This is the game, PAY, then upload but it won’t upload because the UD files is too big, then they give you another plugin to add which is suppose to increase the file size THAT did not work, even FTP or file upload from Cpanel is a nightmare as the files are monstrous
OK, so you think you have it working even have the Central portion with all your WP installs set up, you can see it all in the control panel at UD online BUT one big problem, NO WHERE is there a “Restore icon to get started”. everything you don’t need is shown, back up tokens, links all kinds of stuff, but NOTHING ZERO about restore or activating a CLONE.
That means clicking on a maze of links and reading for hours through poorly written confusing instructions. GET THE IDEA, you pay thru the nose but in the end you must do all the work, nothing simple of automatic. Who buys into this stuff much not clone or restore because that is where they lost me.
Next I put in a support form, GOD $50 to $500 to speak to someone and once I paid I got no link to continue and how to even contact support. WHAT THE HELL?
You better not install this garbage money hole plugin because it’s going to get complicated and expensive.
Nothing but a headache, now to BBB to report them, post my experience anywhere and everywhere to warn people.

Bought the premium version to clone a site 3 days ago. So far, it fails to clone. Fails to restore. Support has been unhelpful and takes a long time to respond with a question. Refund was requested but no respond from the billing team. Will keep testing on other and update the review if necessary.
Exceptional Service
I have been using Updraft's backup plugin for over a year and their service has been amazing. Very well coded plugin and makes the backup process extremely easy. You can opt to backup to various cloud services too.

Can't thank this plugin enough don't know what they are talking about below as a backup plugin this has saved me so much hassle over the last year and for what it costs it's invaluable. These other reviews are clearly competitors.
Poor support
Poor support. As an online marketer the stress from running a website is real and can be quite high. On several occasions I've felt blown off my Updraft email support employees. They either point me in a direction away from them as the source of my issues or respond in high tech talk that feels insensitive to non tech savvy individuals. Either way, it hasn't been worth the automatic charge to my credit card. My site has been suffering some speed reduction due to outside sources. Upon investigation I found that the Updraft plugin is one of the culprits. Creating a backup was also taking too long, especially since my website is not that large. When I contacted them - in the most confusing and deflecting way ever, they sent me to request an increase in some area of my host's control. I didn't understand so I asked for further elaboration on the request. Instead, I received another passive unbothered response.
I'll stick with the free backups from my hosting company until I find a plugin developer with better support services in the small chance that I contact them for it. It amazes me how easy it has been for some online businesses to suck money (on automatic) from supporters and users of their products all while failing to work on supplying efficient levels of product support. I'm over it. Canceled today.
VERY cautious when dealing with this…
VERY cautious when dealing with this company! Their products are very confusing and misleading, you think you're getting one thing but actually, you get another. You cant talk to them for even 5 mins unless you pay extra (even as a new customer). As a new client that has 15-20+ sites that could have been supported for possibly the next TEN years - but alas, the customer service team (via email) just patronise you or don't respond at all. I guess I'll just have to go look again for a better provider and write off the money I paid out as 'experience building'. And I thought I was doing the right thing by supporting a UK company! #BeCarefulKids
Does not work
I have paid version, automatic back up just stopped working all of a sudden, after a series of completed automatic backups before. Migrating function also, worked once when I bought it and struggling ever since wothout success. Horrible experience, regret bying it.
