A simple transaction
I was contacted by Keya to advise me that my Tracker Monitor battery was nearing the end of its life and needed replacing. Of course the need for a replacement is frustrating and comes with an associated cost, but this was entirely reasonable and a very straight forward transaction.

Arranged 5 yr Tracker subscription with a new sender/locator unit installation by telephone. We did get cut off and I did have to calculate myself the annual cost for the quoted amounts for the 3 year and 5 year options but we got there in the end

Tracker. The worst Tracker I have ever bought. We have 3 vehicles with Trackers fitted. They keep faulting and dont track correctly where the vehicles are. We have had 3 replacement units which worked ok for a short while. One vehicle is parked outside our home and still showing a location where it was parked tuesday. DO NOT BUY A TRACKER. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS POOR

Thank you for providing further details, we have passed your case to our technical team to help understand the reason why the tracker device is not updating location.
The type of product you have is GPS/GSM device which is self installed, sometimes if the unit struggles to connect on daily basis, it can cause the location to stop updating; requiring to re-boot the device. Nevertheless, someone from our team will be in touch with you to understand the reasons for the unit behaviour and help with resolving this.

My van was stolen
My van was stolen, and if they would have acted as one would expect, it could have been back within a couple of days, but in my opinion this device is not fit for purpose:
1st: It usually is asleep, only wakes up once in 24h, so the van could have been shipped to the Balkans by the time they had the next symbol
2nd: They worked with the postcode, which in this case was a huge area, completely ignored the fact that I had precise coordinates - the van was dumped not far away, within the same postcode, but far enough to be tracked by any cheap device with GPS, but not by this 'professional tracker' or their crew

Sorry to hear that you fell that Tracker unit provided by your insurer is not fit for purpose.
We have requested our theft team to provide us with more information to understand the reason for not sending location to the police for recovery.
The device installed is a GPS/GSM device which reports its position every 24 hours, however in the event of theft, the unit is designed to report more frequently. The device provides GPS locations, however there are several factors that may affect the device giving precise coordinates.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

Swift and courteous service
My call was answered straight away and I spoke to Samantha who was very helpful and made the transaction easy to follow. All completed swiftly and courteously. The only problem was the telephone line quality which was prone to echo and not easy to follow at times.
