This company is basically a scam!!!
This company is basically, a scam. We selected what we thought, (based on the description and photo that Toronto Baskets had online), was a high end Gourmet gift basket to send to my sister for her birthday. We even selected an "extra" of an antipasto to be included. The total came to approx. 185.00.
It was delivered on the date we asked for, but there basically no items other than a couple that were originally stated. Toronto Baskets had substituted cheap items and items we didn't select instead!! And the basket apparently reeked of cigarette smoke too!!! The cost of those items would have been about 60 bucks from a typical grocery store!!! Beyond disappointing and not what we wanted to send to for a birthday gift!!!
I contacted customer service and complained about this but received absolutely nothing from them! They use their terms and conditions to replace the high end items with cheap crap and told us this gives them the right to do this when they don't have the items in stock! Then don't offer this basket for sale!!!
I continued to argue with them and all they offered was a refund for 30% for what we spent. And then I received the so called refund it was for less than 30%. Seriously???? Customer Service claimed they told me that the 30% would be the refund for the items that they replaced with the cheap stuff. OMG....so they are scammers!! They get you to pay big money for so called high end gift baskets and then deliver something much, much less and smells bad too.
DO NOT ORDER THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!!

Our Substitution Policy is intended to ensure timely delivery when specific items are out of stock by replacing them with items of equal or greater value. It is never our goal to diminish the quality or the 'high-end' feel of a gift. We clearly missed the mark here, and we understand your frustration regarding the perceived value of the replacements.
We also take your feedback about the packaging and the condition of the delivery very seriously, as this does not reflect our quality control standards. We are currently reviewing our substitution protocols and our partnership with the delivery service involved to ensure this does not happen again.
Toronto Baskets are great!
Toronto Baskets have great alternative choices for delivered gifts if one is looking for something other than flowers. My order was delivered as advertised, on the next day and I was kept informed along the way. I’d be happy to use them again.

Toronto Baskets was great to find when I needed to rush a holiday basket to a friend before they left for the holidays.
They were able to deliver the next day which really mattered, as other services would need a few days, by which time the person would not be around to receive it.

Edit to add: have emailed with your team already with order number but no real update or solution provided. It stated it was in Toronto on 23rd but hasn’t made it to the door yet by the 29th.
Edited to add: now 12 days overdue from the delivery date I paid for. And your reply emails just say sorry for the unforeseen circumstances. 😕

Poor communication and what they perceive as customer service
I ordered from this company because they offered same-day delivery if order placed before 11am. However, by the time I entered in all my info the order was placed at 11:03am. No one called me to let me know that because it was 3 minutes late that it wouldn't be delivered same day which stopped me from being able to cancel the order and order from another company. It was only when I checked the status 2 hours later and then called "customer service" was I notified of this. The person on the line was the SAME person I spoke to with a question prior to placing the order (right before I entered order & info) so he knew it was coming and did not mention that I wouldn't be delivered today. Now I am stuck with next day delivery instead of same day because it is too late to order from any other company. To say I am angry for being handcuffed to this order and the poor service is an understatement and I will NEVER use this company or recommend them again!

As mentioned on our website, we offer same-day delivery for orders placed before 11:00 AM, as this is the cut-off time when our courier leaves for the day. Since your order was placed at 11:03 AM, it unfortunately did not qualify for same-day delivery.
I understand how disappointing it was to expect same-day service and only find out later that the order would go out the next day. I also apologize if this was not clearly communicated to you at the time — you deserved clearer information right away so you could make the best decision for your needs.

The resolution depends on the reason the courier was unable to deliver—whether it was due to building restrictions, incomplete or inaccurate address details, or recipient unavailability. These conditions are also outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

I’ve relied on the Toronto Basket Company for corporate Christmas gifts over the past two years, and they’ve consistently delivered excellent service.
