Very satisfied!

Very satisfied from beginning to end. It took less than two working days for TMO to approve repairing my air con system once the origin of the problem was identified by the garage.

I really don’t understand how they have…

I really don’t understand how they have got a lot of good reviews, I’ve found the whole experience this year since buying a heap of junk 2016 Land Rover sport from Drew’s motors, it was purchased in feb 2024 and has had 3 pretty major repairs 1st one being a cam chain replacement, the claim was an absolute no we’re not paying! It’s not covered, wear and tear , we’re now on our third repair during this year and they are making it really difficult, I think they’re game is you just give up and get it repaired yourself, so not great!

While we weren’t involved in the sale of your vehicle, our role is to provide warranty coverage based on the terms and conditions of your level of protection. Warranty products are designed to cover unexpected failures but, like all warranty products, they include terms that outline what is and isn’t covered.

In the case of cam chain replacements, this typically falls outside of standard warranty coverage when they have stretched. However, every claim is assessed thoroughly, and we always aim to support customers within those guidelines.

We understand how frustrating repeated vehicle repairs can be, and we’re sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t met expectations.

knock/click, washer bottle

My Wifes car washer bottle had given up the ghost, slurping instead of performing correctly, along with a knock/click from the front end of her vehicle.
We've used TMO in the past, it was no different this time around, from the off, kind polite and courteous.
Our case handler was Siobhan(5*) very knowledgeable and helpful. we decided to go with a TMO recommended garage, we were not disappointed, from start to finish. Sorted promptly and efficiently.Although the knock/click left unresolved, the garage mentioned a 4 wheel alignment could possibly help, stating tha 4x4s often had this noise, as they could not find anything out of place or damaged.

The claim was deal with quickly but labour and parts rate too low

The claim was deal with quickly and effectively. However the labour cost they cover is only upto £40 per hour, in 2024 this is frankly far too low. As a result the payout only covers part of the cost of any works. They also only cover the cost of cheap pattern parts and not OEM parts.

Parts Quality: We only use high-quality parts supplied by reputable manufacturers—these are often the same companies that produce parts for the vehicle manufacturers themselves. The key difference is these parts don’t carry the vehicle manufacturer’s branding or the associated cost mark-up. This allows us to maintain a high standard of quality while keeping costs reasonable for our customers.

I run a garage and I deal with ALOT of warranty companies and usually it is painful to deal with them HOWEVER I spoke with Siobhan and she was AMAZING , as a business I will look to use this company myself for my car sales based on my experience

Quality service!!

From start to finish, I had unbelievable service. From reporting my issue, to having it resolved was a matter of a couple of phone calls. Each person I spoke to knew exactly what has been said previously, showing that they actually DO record what is happening and you don't have to repeat yourself. So happy I use TMO and nobody else. Highly recommend!!

Painless - as it should be!

I am very glad I bought a warranty for my car with TMO. There were zero issues with the claim: they asked me some questions and later followed up to say my claim had been authorised. Everything you hope/pay for in a warranty.

Great service from TMO.

My vehicle developed a fault. I contacted TMO. Vehicle was booked in by them at a local garage. Everything went smoothly. No problems at all.
Definitely recommend.
Special mention to Harry, he sorted it from start to finish. Made phone calls and kept me updated. Thank you for a great service.

I bought TMO motoring Warranty for a used LR Discovery 4

I bought TMO motoring Warranty with a Land Rover Discovery 4, 2016 with 46 000 miles on the clock, recommended by the vendor in Macclesfield. Today, after my second claim in six weeks I exclaimed “ you are the best warranty company in the world!” to the agent. The first fault was a gear select disc which my local garage dealt with direct with TMO. The second, a restricted performance fault caused by an air intake switch, was resolved immediately as I was about to take the vehicle on the continent. TMO retrospectively authorised this work and refund. I cannot recommend this company enough. Their agents are all straight forward, no nonsense people and highly professional. Customer service I have not experienced in years. Very competitive pricing too compared to main dealers and online warranty companies. I recommend you call TMO first if you are looking for a warranty on a used prestigious vehicle.

Disappointed

You definitely need to read the small print very carefully. They only pay out upto £40 p/h labour costs,so if you’re garage charge £50 or £60 p/h you will have to pay the difference. You don’t expect to pay in my case an extra £108 when you have only owned the vehicle for 6 months and have what you think is a years warranty. You expect to be paid in full and you don’t even get support from The Motor Ombudsman they are a waste of time and don’t contact you until you contact them 😡
Two hours after submitting this review I get an email from The Motoring Ombudsman saying thank you for your patience we are still dealing with my claim. They want 3 more bits of information that they already have I just give up, They just make it more and more difficult.
Despite your very long reply I still don’t agree with this outcome. I even had a phone call from a member of your team saying you would be prepared to pay me the £108 if I would edit my review and give you 5* why would I do this after I originally gave you 2* I couldn’t change it it would be like backing down. I will tell anyone not to waste their money on a very poor warranty. The best warranty I have had is with warranty wise far better and easier to deal with than TMO

The aim of our response is both address your comments, and to clarify the support we’ve provided in your situation to help any readers understand a more balanced view on how we go above and beyond for all customers.

Firstly, we provide all customers the option of a TMO approved garage to avoid any shortfall in costs, though you chose to go to your own repairer before contacting us. Secondly, the labour rate condition is designed to help deliver fair and reasonable pricing for all customers and is a standard provision in almost all warranties. If this was uncapped, then pricing for customers would be totally unpredictable and likely increase. Lastly, over and above the information that is clearly detailed in your warranty documentation, we also communicated the consequences of using your own repairer on two separate occasions to ensure you were fully aware of potential shortfalls from the very beginning.

Despite the terms of your warranty and the awareness we raised to them, we still went above our contractual terms and have covered a almost £3,000 in repairs on your vehicle, leaving you with only £108 to pay - this just 3% of the total costs we've paid.

We understand that any out of pocket expense can be frustrating, but we believe our contribution of 97% of the bill demonstrates our commitment to supporting our customers, even beyond the terms of the warranty.

As for The Motor Ombudsman, we’re unable to comment on their processes, but we can assure you that we will continue to provide any support or necessary documentation in a timely manner and be fully transparent throughout the process.

We always aim to be clear, fair, and supportive, and we’re proud of the efforts we make to go the extra mile for our customers. We hope this clarifies the situation for anyone reading this review.
