I am the parent of an 18 year old boy who went out on his own to Ghana for a month with the organisation. From start to finish we have felt supported. I did not feel worried about him as they kept in touch with me in a group chat with photos and updates while he was there. The people welcomed him and looked after him so well.
Isaac was doing the sports programme and he loved his time there with the children and football teams. He got to see so much of the culture and went on 2 great weekend trips. The coastal trip being his favourite.
I would highly recommend this organisation. My only comment would be that although he loved going on his own I think a group may have been better, as it gets dark early and the evenings were quite long! Although he was busy in the day and so was often quite tired!
I will be sending my daughter next to enjoy this experience.

My name is Anna Carter and i went to Ghana with TSVO on a school trip from the Ist of February to the 15th of February 2026. Going to Ghana with TSVO was undeniably the most wonderful experience of my life. Not only have i come back feeling more enlightened about other peoples culture but i genuinely feel the most emotional connection to those i've met on the trip, and the places we visited.
All the staff at TSVO made me feel so comfortable and relaxed in every situation and in the accommodation and they treated me with such kindness to make me feel almost part of a family, in just two weeks i've felt like i've known all these people my whole life because they're just so genuine and supportive.
Teaching and renovating in Agape school was the most heartwarming experience, i am eternally grateful and feel so blessed to be given the opportunity and privilege to teach these bright and talented students, i hope to visit them sometime in the near future due to the strong bond i formed with them over just a few days of meeting them. It was just so refreshing too see how greatful they were for anything at all wether it's a gift or the opportunity to meet someone new and it broke me knowing i had to leave them at the end of the trip. I could not recommend anything more than the volunteering experience with The Sunshine Volunteers Organisation, i give the biggest thank you to the whole team for blessing me with this experience, i hope that more people are able to volunteer with this team for the best experience of their life and over time are able to create the biggest impact possible for these children who deserve the the world and more. May God bless TSVO for their hard work and dedication to making a difference to the world.

My Daughter visited Ghana with her school, Sunshine volunteers hosted their stay. She thoroughly enjoyed her 2 weeks. Sunshine volunteers looked after her and the whole group, every day was packed with things to do. The whole trip was well organised, a massive thank you to Florence and the team, my daughter can't wait to go back!

Our daughter Meagyn went to Ghana for two weeks and had the most amazing time. She met incredible people and has stories and experiences that she will take with her for the rest of her life. Meagyn is Autistic and does struggle at times in school. Meagyn was encouraged to step outside of her comfort zone and, from what we understand, handled this in her stride. Meagyn herself has told us there was some negotiation with what she was able to do and this, she said, was dealt with in an adult way which is so important for young people in this environment.

From our point of view we could not be prouder of Meagyn and greatful to the people she worked so well with. Meagyn has had a journey to get to where she is today and it has not always been easy for her. Everyone in the organisation bought out the very best in her and helped her to understand and experience something that will change her life forever.

This was a great stay and an I had an amazing time. I went as part of a school trip and would definitely recommend. The programme is excellent and action packed, although sometimes busy to a fault.

The Sunshine Volunteers Organisation made me feel like a part of their family. I had the most amazing experience of my life and i am so grateful that they have given me these new opportunities to teach and schools and help communities. They have given me memories i will never forget.

I did the teaching program and it was the most impacting experience. I have been before to ghana but sunshine volunteers really shone through and made me feel at home and you can tell the lengths that Florence and the team will go to better your experience. I highly recommend going with sunshine and I will definitely be returning with them again.

I spent 2weeks with sunshine having a amazing time everyday. We made so many memories and I loved learning about the culture and helping the schools renovating, teaching and having some so much fun. All the staff are so kind and helpful.

My experience volunteering with TSVO was the best 2 weeks of my life. I enjoyed every single minute of the trip. The staff are all so caring at the organisation and always willing to talk. The accommodation is very nice with most rooms having an on suite and sleeping up to 6 people.

I have learnt so much from this trip about other coutures and other ways people live.it’s a extemely eye opening trip !

I had a great and intensive time in Ghana thanks to the Sunshine Volunteers Organization. In my opinion, there is no better organization in Ghana for getting to know the culture and the country so closely. Through the weekend tours I saw the different regions that Ghana has to offer and the diversity of nature. The various activities showed me the ghanaian culture and values and broadened my horizon.

Florence and Ruby do everything they can to make you feel at home and are there to help you if you have a problem. They were incredibly kind and I miss them!
Florence fulfils every wish and every idea I had and wanted to realise was supported and organised by her.

Thank you for the unforgettable and enriching time, I can wholeheartedly recommend everyone to choose the Sunshine Volunteers Organization and immerse themselves in a new world, far away from everyday life!

I had an incredible experience volunteering in Ghana! I was able to join the sports program which allowed me the opportunity to play with Dreamz Ladies Football Team. It was amazing to connect with such talented and passionate players, and I loved how inclusive and supportive the team was.

A special shoutout to Florence, who was incredibly helpful throughout my time there. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable, informed, and engaged in all the activities. Florence, Dougie, and Ruby’s warmth and dedication made a huge difference in my experience, and I’m so grateful for all their support.

My second time in Ghana was everything I’d hoped it would be thanks to The Sunshine Volunteers making it all possible. Florence works tirelessly to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable and will do all she can to make things happen on request. I was super grateful for everything that Florence arranged for me while I was there. Dougie and Ruby were also brilliant to be around and were always happy to help. The special school was awesome and the children are incredible. I miss them very much and definitely hope to be back in a few years.

I visited Ghana with my daughter who had been to Ghana before. We had the absolute best time. We were met at the airport and looked after from the start of the trip right to the end. It was an amazing experience and Flo, Dougie and Ruby took care of us the whole time we were there. From lovely meals, sorting out phone sim, experiencing everything Ghanaian, making fufu, etc we were taken care of. There is so much to do and we filled every day with so many experiences. Working at the special school was an absolute privilege too. The kids were amazing and I miss them so much. We made friends with the cooks, washers and my daughter even did a talk on how special schools are in the uk and what we could learn from one another. I would highly recommend the sunshine volunteers to anyone want to have an amazing experience of Ghana and for any parent worried about their child going away in their first travels abroad, rest assured they are absolutely safe and looked after.
We will be back with more of the family.

My time in Kumasi was absolutely incredible. Eveyone was so welcoming and I really got to know the culture. I was working at the Garden City Special School and it was a wonderful experience. Getting to know the children and assisting them was really fun. We also did so many different weekend activities - which were always posted on instagram so my people back home always knew what we were doing. Overall it was a lovely expression and I would absolutely recommend!!

Flo picked us up at the airport and I felt very safe.
Flo and Ruby were so friendly and always helpful. They showed and explained us the Ghanaian country and culture.
Ruby cooked us everyday great meals and Flo was always there for us if we had some questions.
What I really appreciated was that they responded to our individual wishes.
For example if we wanted to buy or see something.
Flo accompanied us the first two weeks to work until we were able to do it ourselves.
We experienced great things on the weekends too. For example we went on a safari, went to the sea, learned more about the Ghanaian culture, we surfed, climbed and bathed and much more.
Flo organized everything for us.
She also helped us with organizing the way back to the airport.
I really recommend this organization and I am so greatful for this unforgettable experience :)
